Well, my friend got here, four hours late, but better late than never!

I feel so sick, I'm not going to go to the Avon show, but she is so she;ll tell me all about it later.

The snow here isn't as bad as yesterday, but it's snowing again right now!

It looks like I won't be leaving the house today - the snow is really coming down and the road is awful, cars (what few there are) are crawling along almost at walking pace. I'll have to ring the farm and pass details over the phone.

Maybe I'll get all my baking done today  :D

Could someone please have mr tru for the day? Don't think I can put up with him for 2 days in a row :rotfl: Moggins is near me, I might send him round there :D

Bargainbird, we have 3 desks (ok, 2 are in the kid's rooms but still) and a dining table. I think he thinks "where would be the most inconvenient?" :D

Morning everyone!! Hope you all have a good day! :-)

It's very crunchy here underfoot so I'm glad I only have a 5 min walk to work. I was really busy in the Town Hall yesterday answering daft questions from members of the public. Whatever happened to common sense?!

On a cheerier note I helped OH. DS1 & DIL build a snowman for GD (8 mths old) I think she wondered what all the fuss was about but we had fun!! Got some lovely photos for the ever growing album!

Well I've had my porridge, BM is on, so I'd better get off to work. Think it will be a curry tonight to warm us all up. Hope DS2 gets home safe from Uni for his weekend visit (more washing!!)

We have a light covering of snow but it is so cold I don't think it will melt soon.

Working from home today. I am supposed to be going out tonight with some girlfriends but I might give it a miss as it is too cold and of course we couldn't wear a coat in Newcastle!;)

OS wise not much happening today. Will make the chicken dinner OH had asked for yesterday (he did end up having a takeaway for his birthday) as it all defrosted ready. I must have a good sort through and make a new list of the contents of my freezer and store cupboards as stocks are low and I don't want to do a big shop until pay day at the end of Feb.

Me ad OH are running Edinburgh marathon at the end of May so we have both had to buy new trainers at £70 each:eek: so we are watching the pennies even more closely this month.

I had to pay a bill last night I was not expecting so was explaining to OH that we would have to be careful with money for the next few weeks. He disappeared upstairs and when he came back down he handed me £50! He said he was trying to save a bit of money each week in a sock:p so that he could suprise me at the end of the year with an extra £500 towards our savings target. I don't know how he had managed to save the money in the last few weeks as I keep a very tight hold of the purse strings and he is like the Queen, he never carries any money or goes to the cashpoint. I've told him to keep squirreling (sp) it away :T

Good luck with the job interview Halight

Have a good day everryone and keep yourselves warm and toasty

    Morning all!

Lots of snow here again and it's still snowing! ds has gone off quad biking again - amazing how he didn't feel ill today, despite trying to convince me he was dying yesterday morning! dd2 is off to a friends and dd3 is wrapped up like the mitchellin man, and wearing silver pvc trousers! Waterproof so that's good, but no idea where she found them lol!

OS today was washing the pots, sorting out the kitchen and finding some storage space for the chinese stuff I bought the other day, hoovering, and some washing and ironing. Will also be cooking something nice and warming for lunch, prob veg soup with barley.

Lunch - soup and hm bread, followed by leftover pear and choc upside down cake from last night.

Dinner - can't remember, promised to do something with dd1 though!

Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to all in need xx

Morning all.............(((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) if you need one.....

We still have snow, but no more snow overnight, the roads seem to be ok. When we went to bed last night ice was forming, but it seems to have disappeared now. The sky is a bit grey and overcast, not sure if its more snow or rain!!!

Better nights sleep last night thankfully........job for today, clean out another of the floor cupboards, full of plastic, I junked a load but it looks like I need to junk a load more - no plans to go out as yet.

Nothing from the hospital so far will ring on Monday and see what they have to say.....OH had a dizzy at lunchtime yesterday.

Still the council have not taken the CT payment, am waiting now for a letter to say they are taking X amount to make up the shortfall.........and girding my loins for the April junket when our civil service pensions go up and everything changes again!!!!!

Fish tonight with mustard mash and peas I think....finished the jelly last night so need to sort out something for pudding. No veg man yesterday......I have just about enough to see me through, can always nip to aldi if I need more stuff......

OH has just wandered through, so better get my second mug of coffee and my feet on the floor for the day...............

Update: tooth has settled, seems it has become sensitive to heat and cold, advised to use sensodyne toothepaste.

Council tax: Just checked, we have paid up for this year so an extra £126.00 into the o/d payment......brill.......58p iso be added to next year!!!
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    morning all!

Halight - good luck - am keeping my fingers crossed for you. My DS1 has applied for 2 more jobs but not had an interview yet, he's off to the job centre later to sign on.

silvercharming - hope you soon feel better.

day off today before my long 3 day working weekend.

    jobs for today

    apply for DS2s bus pass(£80 for half a term:eek: )
    ironing
    make leek and potato soup
walk to the library to return a book
2 or 3 loads of washing to do and put on airers and picture rails.
    walk the dogs.

    thats it for now.

    take care everyone x
    Do what you love :happyhear

Yep it is still coming down here, OH and DS both have to head to the same area today, one for work and one to see his girlfriend so they are walking there together. It normally takes DS 1 hour to walk there so they have left early and allowed two hours.

Tru, you are more than welcome to send Mr Tru round, I have a dining room with a decent sized table and a big sideboard that he can spread his stuff over!

DD is playing on the Wii and I might go and have a nice hot soak in a minute. I don't even know if OH is going to make it home tonight, but then staying in a room over a pub is his idea of heaven so he won't be too unhappy!

I've had to cancel taking my parents shopping as I just can't get to them, they have enough supplies in to keep them going for a while, and mum is more worried about me.
