    Hi guys,

Well we had a dusting of snow on Monday which soon disappeared and apart from the odd light snowfall which didn't stick that has been it for us here - so far. The kids are dissapointed though as they have been looking forward to playing in it.

LO is poorly today and asleep on the settee. He has a temp and sounds quite chesty so carpet hunting will have to wait for a bit. The house has been cleaned, last wash on, all recycling done, tea prepped and plenty of coffee drunk as I am shattered today. I still need to do some sewing and there is a pile of ironing to tackle later.

DS1 has gone off with the school for an activity weekend up in the hills so at least he will see the snow.

Work have sorted out my holiday entitlement and it appears I need to take 4 weeks off before April - it does my head in trying to work it out as I am now relief and the rules are different for me - so the unpaid leave I took over xmas could have been paid for. However it will be a break, much needed the way I am feeling at the moment.

Halight - good luck to you today.

Gentle hugs to all in need and keep warm everyone.

Pen-pin, hope you are OK. xx

    Hello all,

Have not had chance to read the Daily for a few weeks, but hope everyone is well and staying safe in this weather!

I am snowed in. Actually there is hardly any snow where I live but the massive hill I have to go up to work is under a blizzard! I tried to get in earlier and got stuck, had to be pulled out by the tractor. So, even if I could get in, the chances of me being able to get home again are slim.

So plans for the day - make some room in the freezer, it is absolutely FULL. I have a new slow cooker . Was only £22 when I bought it though. Have not made anything in it yet...not sure what to make

Will also try clearing out my spare room and doing a few Ebay listings. Maybe clean the bathroom and mop the floor too.

  • hi all,:j
Home today because of the snow couldnt get the car out off the carpark.
If i did i wouldnt have got down the hill.
So home today with the kids and animals, phoned gran to say wouldnt be over.
Husband did manage to get to sowton for work just need he to be able to get home!!!
Cant see him wanting to bunk down in a mill.
Im in devon near exeter and the snow did come so fast last night ,didnt think it would settle because the ground was wet.

But i was wrong have cleared frount path and steps down to road and gone town (walked nearly finshed me off) to get extra elec and milk as man didnt deliver !!

At least if im home i cant spend any thing which is good as last week desided that everyone was to have packed lunch as 3 schoolaged children dinner money was costing me 45 pounds a week.
Went off to scummerfields and spent 79 pounds on pack lunch food:confused:

Any way mash pots and bangers tonight.
    With a dvd of step-brothers o watch.

  • Hi OS friends!

Haven't caught up on the thread but wanted to post that my OH drove to Taunton last night to work. Anyway, in the following hour, over 1ft of snow fell on Telegraph hill (between Exeter and Taunton) and cars started to get stuck and the long and the short of it is, he got snowed in and had to stay in Taunton overnight!

Roads are still closed - the army had to dig people out of cars that had got stuck all along that stretch of the motorway and do not anticipate the roads opening today at all. So he may have another night in Taunton!

I managed to get Social Services to agree that my home help can come for an hour today aas an extra so she can make me beans on toast or something and fill up my flask for later. Plus feed the fat cat who is most put out at her daddy not being here to be her Stannah stair lift!

OS wise, well, I have plenty of baking to eat from yesterday and as neither myself or my home help know how to turn the fire on in the lounge, snuggling with duvets in here or bed seems like a great plan to me!! It does look SO pretty out of the window though!

Will be back later once I have read the thread.

hugs to everyone who needs them.

Awwwww, I'm missing the snow! Here in Surrey it's all gone, and everybody's back to being miserable:rolleyes:

So far I've been to the gym and my classes for today, just eaten the last of the beef stew from the other day.

    Plan for today:
    • finish learning my lines
    • practice my vocal rep - might try 'Defying Gravity' from Wicked! Hmmmm, can I pull it off....?
    • prepare for the audition tomorrow
    • washing
    • rehearsals at 5 until who knows when
    • chinese and wine/ line bashing evening with my friend who's struggling as much as me getting these lines learnt.
    • Sleep!
I'm really not sleeping too well at the moment. I'm resisting the urge to sleep in the
day in the hope I'll be able to sleep better at night, but it's not working so far. May pop to the doctors and see if they can suggest anything that doesn't involve taking tablets.

*huuuuuuuuuuuuuuugs* to CCStar and anyone else who needs one

    xx
