As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well”, type start does just as well.
Morning. Bit of a slow start? It's colder than a witches tit here. 0c and a windchill of -12. So not very nice to go out in. Few wisps of snow too. nothing stickin.
Had some good fortune with the car yesterday. I was trying to get the ignition key thing sorted out for the OH car. Ford wanted almost £200 to cut 3 keys and re chip them to the cars immobiliser system. I stumbled in to Timpson the key and shoe people and the chap there cut a key by sight, removed the chip from the old key and put it in the new one £20 and it works fine. I can get a second key for £10. From being ripped off to being served well in one day. Very happy.

My car on the other hand is a worry. £400 for a cambelt service and that's the cheapest. Can't get Timpson to do that. Bummer. I might just buy a new car and trade it in, it's almost cheaper.
Bangers and mash for tea last night, and today is an 8 hour day with 4 days off afterwards. Fancy somthing nice to eat... Maybe a curry?
Have a nice day folks

Morning N9eav and all who cross/ follow
the weather is very cold here but the journey to w*rk was a lot easier than i was expecting. The gritter has managed to get onto one of the main estate roads making it much better to get to the main road :j I`ve just checked the weather on the bbc site and it looks as if the snow that we were expecting isn`t going to happen now:j I like the snow but don`t like having to drive or w*rk in it, snow is for fun with doggies and sledging:D
Mr Sunnyday will have left by now too and the doggies will be walked and settled so all is well. I`m wondering what to do with the rest of yesterdays turkey leg, for tea last night we had red and green peppers with onions and cous cous cooked with garam masala and garlic in the water. It was nice but next time i won`t use the green peppers as they were a little bitter.
I could make a turkey pie or a stir fry but i shall search for more inspiration.
Offski to do some w*rk now but i shall catch up later.
Have a fantastic Friday peeps and keep warm
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -

Something with mince and pasta tonight, either meat balls of spag bol, might go spag bol, as its quicker. Off to work today, finish early so not too bad.

Morning N9eav, Sunnyday and Redruby - and all who follow.
Up a bit earlier today. WM nearly finished, and handwashing (which I hate!) all done. Rolls for lunch defrosting - I remembered to cook the gammon piece early yesterday evening, so do have something to go in rolls now! Need to visit the bottle bank this morning (hope I don't eet anyone we know as we haven't been for ages! Guess I'll have to talk loudly about the huge party we had (not!) as otherwise my reputation will be totally blown!
Have also sorted out meal plan for next week (you can tell I really did feel guilty about my day out yesterday) so will shop for that after visiting the gym this morning. Hope you all have a good day today. ((HUGS)) to all in need.Resolution:

Morning all!
No snow, but a heavy sleet fall just started. They are reporting thunder and lightening Romford-way! What on earth is going on?
Dogs are standing at the door thinking 'I'm not going out it THAT! LOL
Roads are still OK round this way but we'll see what the day brings.
Planned lasagna for tea last night, but DD turned up her nose so we had fish fingers instead. She is on a sleepover tonight so I will have lasagna for tea - and lunch tomorrow - and tea tomorrow.........
Off to work now. Yay - made it to Friday. I finish early tonight and as I haven't got to wait for a school bus I should be home by 4.15! It was still light at 5.00 last night so will be able to walk the dogs without losing them tonight!
Have a good day y'all

Morning :hello:
Yesterday, mr tru decided that the best place to do his paperwork was the kitchen  From the door and going round the room, our kitchen goes like this - bit of worktop, fridge freezer, back door, bit of worktop, hob, bit of worktop, sink, low window, worktop with microwave on it. The only place to really get stuck into cooking is the breakfast bar, which goes from the wall into the middle of the kitchen. That's where he sat and spread out files and bits of paper. As he worked through it, he sorted it into piles which took over the worktop behind him and next to him. It was hard work just making a cuppa. So I was bored stiff yesterday and couldn't get anything done.
I have to go out to the forest today, hope the roads are OK :undecided Hopefully, some cards will have sold. I found a brilliant crafter and I told her I'd pass her details on to a woman who sells my cards, hopefully she'll stock her stuff to. I don't want to let her down.
Apart from that, I have no plans for today - mr tru will probably just mess them up
Oh I did have some good news yesterday - our mortgage repayments have dropped by £50 per month :TBulletproof0 -
good morning, still dark but sky looks clear (in a dark kind of way) very chilly though, we still have remnants of snow in the garden.
we have a wedding to go to tonight, the actual ceremony will start at 6pm, so it will be a mad dash for shower when kids get in from school, changed into our finery an then have to set off just about 5pm.
My dog is going for a sleepover at her granny's so will drop her off this morning.
Hope not too expensive a night but buying 4x soft drinks can sometimes be more expensive than if it was alcohol!........hoping for a nice buffet too!!!
WM on now and then will do other load with school uniforms later.....have a massive pile of ironing to do now before I go out so I've got room for being chief hairdresser/ stylist later!!
Enjoy your Friday, stay warm and stay safe Mx0 -
Hi everyone. No snow here although we were threatened with loads of it - it was raining last night and just didn't look as if snow was on the way. It's raining lightly now and looks as if that's all we'll get today. I will stand corrected if it does snow, though! I don't mind if it's at the end of the day when everyone is back home safe and sound.
Well, I have a few chores, some errands to run, and some banking to do for DH, then some of my own work and then, hopefully, the afternoon off, but I know just something will happen to eat into my time. It usually does. I just wish I could plan even one day and have it go to that plan!
Dinner tonight is spaghetti bolognaise followed by the microwave jam sponge I made yesterday
I hope everyone is feeling well. I haven't had time to catch up with the rest of yesterday's thread yet.
R.Mac - if it happens today, good luck!
Beemuzed - you've reminded me about the bottle bank. I haven't been for ages, either, so hopefully won't meet any neighbours! Actually, it's mostly jars of non-alcoholic stuff so I might look quite saintly!
Well, the BM is on. I don't have enough washing for a full load so no washing today and the ironing pile is not big enough to frighten me - yet. DH has just left for work. He has started a new job that's about an hour's drive away so back to putting gallons of diesel in his car which eats into his earnings. He's seriously wondering if it's worth it because the prices he's being paid for the work now are down on last year's, and more work is expected for the money. Is earning not enough better than not earning anything and spending his time looking for other work instead? That's the question he keeps asking himself - and me! We'll try and work it out tonight. Today, he's just looking at the job; he'll soon know whether it really is worth it. He does a mixture of private work and contract work - for years, the private work has been his real work, IYKWIM, and the contract work was a filler. Now, of course, no-one is spending any money on their homes, so the private work is very thin on the ground. Oh, well - there's plenty of people in the same boat - and worse.
Well, I'm off for a shower.
Hope everyone has a good day. (((Hugs))) to all those in need.

I hope that eveyone is keeping well and warm.
Not a lot on today apart from my job interview. Its been years since iv had a job interview:eek: still even if i dont get the job then at least having an interview will get me ready and back in the game of having interviews.
I do think that i might be in with a chance as i know that thay wont more men to go into suport work and jobs with the disabled At the moment its mostley women that go into this kind of work. So with me beening a man then thats got to count for somthing:rolleyes:
Ill let you all know how i get on this afternoon.
