Surely someone who earns the amount of money you do shouldn't need an overdraft, or am I missing something?
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

Yes. It's not that he wants an overdraft; it's that he wants the overdraft screen... :rotfl:

Thats right, I feel that something isn't right so am fishing to see why and what! I refused the £200 o/d when they offered me account - they are saying this could be the problem LOL. God knows.

By the way, I don't earn loads I work loads! What I earn pays mortgage quicker that's all. I'm not flash nor rich, I wish!!! I was simply making the point that it's not like i'm a scroat with no dollar to pay for my goodtime! lol

Best thing to do is wait 3 months and if nothing has changed, ring them back.
  • HSBC have categorically stated to me just now on the phone:

As you declined to take the £200 overdraft offered to you when you opened the account you have to wait 3mth before reapplying. The system will not allow us to edit the overdraft even though we can clearly see from application notes that you were offered the overdraft.

I said I never declined it and to reinstate it, she said she cannot do anything for 3mth. I told her as I signed for a service that you are now not offering me, I shall not pay the £12,95 for 3mth either and see how you like it. They are now investigating for me but something isn't right, dunno what but something is just wrong here!
