Thanks for your points, all of which are valid I agree. Do you know a HSBC Plus helpline number? I always ring bog standard 08457 404404 number?

I applied for current account, went in branch with ID and they offered me Plus. I have a £100 chq card etc which is in effect a £3k credit line isn't it? Also, I have over £4k per month go through my account and have over 12 direct debits and standing orders to my HSBC savings accounts! I earn over £500 per week which goes in plus I have an extra £2000 pension that transfers into this account (yea alright no 38 year old pensioner jokes please! Pensioned off, not literally old and wrinkly LOL) ...

    Free HSBC Plus Number: 01226261010

CG Cards are standard with HSBC Plus accounts I believe. If you didn't score highly enough to have a CG Card, you wouldn't have got a HSBC Plus account. While you have a large amount of money going through the account each month, maybe it's because you're new and they haven't seen a regular income go in yet (3-6 months). Either way, you can ring the number above and apply for an overdraft or ask why it wont let you online.

Cheers for details, may give them a ring but dunno - feel a little violated now LOL.

I just cant figure why the overdraft screen looks different, its not that I want one. Obviously my screen should look the same. Shouldn't it?

Should do. Ring and ask them is all I can suggest. They're kind people (and they should be for £13 a month :rotfl:). They'll sort out the problem for you.

Ahh but until I ring i'd like to check that they dont do restrictive accounts, i'll wait and see if ShelfStacker knows if my screen print is usual or a fault.....

If I rung them, what would I be saying? I can't say i'm on a forum and my overdraft screen looks different to other peoples, can I? Any idea's? Cheers

ShelfStacker has already said he's not quite sure and you should query it with HSBC.

You ring them and say ''When I click on ''Apply for Overdraft' on Internet Banking, it's telling me ''You cannot ammend your overdraft'', whereas when my brother/sister/whoever does this, they can ammend and set up a new overdraft. Please can you tell me why...

They'll say ''Please hold on the line while I check this out for you''

    ''This is because.....''
    or
''This has now been ammended, please try applying again now''

It's really not that big of a deal. Just ring and speak to one of the staff members...

Just say "you have logged into on-line banking and you can't have an OD why"?

On the phone now, she's put me on hold while she checks it out LOL - you've been here before right? hahaha

BUT she did say that I was offered an o/d when I took account and if I refused, it may be because I cant apply for 3mth. Does this sound plausible?

I'll update when i'm off hold lol.

I have no idea. I'm not aware of any 3 months limit on overdrafts. I've applied twice for an overdraft in 1 month and been turned down twice. I still get the same screen online, so it shouldn't make much difference. :)

Ok that rules that out. She tried to say that is I refused it 6wk ago then i can't reapply for 3mth and this may have carried over to internet banking...... don't know, will find out soon hopefully! Still on hold - thanks for local number - free!
