Sorry slipped my mind, thanks for pointing that out. Quite a few do have tinny small ones, however if no speakers in the monitor, you can pick up amplified speakers for pcs cheap from around a fiver, 2.1 are great for movies. Loads of second hand ones around as well.

Just bought an LG 22" widescreen monitor for £116 from Tesco's in Bury, Lancs. Also some 2:1 speakers for about £20. All looks and sounds great!

Avoid Philips & go for a top make with more reliability & better after sales service.

what a load of rubbish ive currently got philips 37" downstairs and 32" upstairs both are of good quality for the money.

the reliabilty factor is had an old philps crt 28" that i got second had for £50 i know was to be 15years old before it went on the sound but couldnt be bothered to get varipot changed as was so old.
the after sales service is a very sweeping statement as well most people would deal with the shop first so that would be where c/s would start really in the first 12months. i suppose you would buy a sony only? and pay way over the odds!

just for peoples info sony put there prices up because there overpriced sony shops could not sell there products cheap and other internet shops could so as a result of that sony stopped trading to internet shop suppliers that where beating there own shops prices by quite a bit in order to make there sony shops profitable again.

Went to Clearance Bargains today and purchased the Toshiba av555d 32" Regza for £219.99. Only replacing the Sharp one we have as picture tempermental, will come on after tv "warmed up" but sound perfect, as this tv was just over 2 years old and repair bill was quoted at £150 seriously didnt think it was worth spending excessive amounts on a replacement with no certainty of life expectency.

In reply to this Clearance Bargains is ex Argos goods store/warehouse. From what i have read on these boards there are 3 in the country and the one nearest to me is in Walsall, West Mids. They also retail via ebay. All goods sold come with 12 month guarantee and if they are store returns under the basis that someone didnt like them when they got them home they are all quality checked ready for resale.

Address for those who dont know:-

  • I'd recently deciced to get myself a new TV, seen as on Friday My TV decided to give up the ghost.

After hours of searching both the interent and local shops i came across a cracking deal in Sainsbury’s.

They currently have an 37” Toshiba LCD TV, 1080P, 18,000:1 Contrast for £400. When the change in VAT is added this takes it down to £391.40ish.

With that in mind couldn't resist.

Picture is top rate and am completly satisfied with the product. Not bad considering i almopst bought a Samsung 32" for £380!

I'm after 3 x 22" LCD TVs with freeview and DVD. Any recommendations? I know nothing about LCD TVs...

    Thanks

UMC 21.6" FULL HD 1080p with Freeview £169.00 at Tesco

    Freeview picture is stunning.
    HD images look stunning.
    Upscaled DVD looks stunning.
Speakers are completely acceptable for a small TV.
£40 for a lifetime warranty via the leaflet in the box.

Just to be clear this TV has a 1920x1080 panel.

Faults - err - backlight spills a bit - but honestly NOT an issue when watching a film etc. PSU is internal so that warranty might be worthwhile.

Sorry if it's been mentioned earlier in the thread - I haven't read them all.
