Just found this website selling Normende (German Brand) LCD 32" for £249.
Anyone has any reviews on this TV?

Probably means not to buy a supermarket own brand. Bit of a sweeping statement though.
1) Firstly, supermarkets tend to have the lower-end products, and try to charge roughly the same as what you can buy the higher-end version for if you shop around (although one recent exception to this was when the Sony KDL-32V4000 appeared in some supermarkets, possibly because it is scheduled to be discontinued soon).
2) A lot of supermarket warehouses (or distribution centres) have an ambient chamber, a produce chamber and a chill chamber. It is quite common for electrical products to end up in one of the refrigerated chambers after they have been picked and before they are loaded onto the trailer that will take them to the store. They are also quite often delivered to the stores on refrigerated trailers. Those rapid fluctuations in temperature can cause things such as condensation, but when you buy from an electrical retailer your product is a lot less likely to have been through this sort of misuse. It is also likely to be cheaper!
Supermarkets rely on impulse buyers for these sort of products, who don't properly research what is available and at what prices. MSE is all about people who ARE willing to take the time and trouble to check things out beforehand. Can i recomend this website http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/Cleara...__W0QQ_armrsZ1 as it is Argos clearence site. While your points are valid, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss all supermarkets all of the time, as you will undoubtably miss out on some hot deals.0 -

Well it's too late for me now anyway, as I bought my LCD TV on Boxing Day, but I agree that generalisations are always dangerous, and I would advise shopping around thoroughly when you are ready to shell out the readies. Thanks to all who post constructively.

I made a visit to selfridges yesterday and enquired about the Panasonic 32LZD85 (Thats the 100Mhz, 1080P model) and a very helpful chap told me it would be worth waiting another three weeks as the newest models are coming in and those will push down the prices of the existing tvs available. So could be worth waiting a month if your planning on making a big tv purchase, might save you a few.0% Credit Card [strike]£2000[/strike] / £1450 left
