It could have been that one, although that only has 2 HDMI sockets as well. Currys and Comet have some 42inch LG's up at the same price too. I guess at that price, some compromises on features etc have to be made...

I have one of the Toshiba 40" LCD TV's ready to pay for on Sainsbury's website and I also have tracked down a SamsungLE40B503 down with Richer Sounds. Could anyone advise, are Samsun better than Toshiba or the other way round? They are both the same price so I am lost.

With sainsburys you get free delivery, Richer Sounds would be £24.99 if you can't collect it.

Richer sounds you can get the 5 year guarantee, for £39.99 extra. Sainsburys only has 12 month manufacturer guarantee (I think).

Toshiba has USB port, not sure if this is an input port, but if it is you can do allsorts with it, (with my small alba you can play films direct from a usb memory stick).

Both TVs are quite similar overall, but I prefer Samsung as a make.

  • Hiya,

Am looking to buy a new telly next week, my budget is £400 and I was thinking of getting the 37" LG one that Tesco had at £375 last week, or perhaps one off of Amazon.

Nearby we have a Curries,Tesco,Sainsbury and Argos but no Richer Sounds or John Lewis...

Any ideas? Looking for 37" if possible...

Thanks for this - after weeks of indecision, (all the various trade-in offers, etc) have ordered this (and half-price stand, as need that, too). :T

OH has bought from Richer sounds for years and swears by them. Good products, good prices, good service. The guys in the shops know what they're talking about - at least they do in the Birmingham store! They have good clearance bargains too. HTH :)

All my family go to Richer Sounds - warranties are cheap, an dproducts are at great prices!
