  • Great tip about taking it to theme parks.

I wandered around one last year with a rucksack on which got a bit heavy when I had to carry DS2 and then DS1 got too scared in the ghost house and did his impression of a limpit :D You could always take a little bike lock if you were that worried, and leave it chained to a fence.

And to think this thread was started cos I said Lidl's were selling them on one of their Thursday offers :D

Which is the only reason I've been able to afford one, thanks :)

I've found it very useful and, as I've found, and others have said, it has allowed me to take advantage of offers I otherwise would not have been able to carry home. So in fact it is paying for itself!

Come the time it needs replacing, or the time when I find I can't walk so far, I will definitely be investing in one that has a seat too. :)

Edit: In fact, I might just start myself a little savings pot "Money earned by my trolley" to pay for an upgrade.

TBH if people without transport etc wish to lug home groceries without the aid of a trolley etc, then that it is up to them. I'm just glad to have the trolley I have now, wish I bought it years ago, would have saved me a fortune. Thanks again Racy Red.

see, that's what i was telling everyone (as were others) just knew the people that bought them would be converts for life!

now, if i can just get dh to understand

    Thriftmonster,

Congrats on your new purchase of your trolley/chic shopper whatever you want to call it. Certainly eases the strain on the back and neck for sure. It's great knowing that you can now pick up bulk bargains whereas before you weren't able to. Good on you. :-)

I took my cow print chic shopper up to Lidls today and I got loads of fruit, some melons, mangoes as they were only 39p a piece, carrots for carrot juice. Loaded up on cereal too and some olive oil etc. If I hadn't the trolley then it would have taken me considerably longer to get my shopping done, I was there and back in about 45 minutes. It took all of 10 minutes to get home with my boatload of stuff. I also got two cartons of juice too. I only carried the grocery bags from the front door up the hall to the kitchen and it would have killed me to have carried that home without a trolley. There is no way I could have bought what I did today if I hadn't had the trolley. I am chuffed to bits with it. I never got any comments as such but people did look, and there was a woman looking it over when I went to put my trolley back in the stance. Got looks when I went in and I just said, well it saves me paying the chiropractor. I couldn't care less what people think, I was pleased that it saved me time, money and CPR fees. Thanks to everyone, again as mentioned above, if it hadn't of been for this thread and the various posters etc I wouldn't have gotten my chic shopper. I had been thinking about one but couldn't see any funky enough, but thanks to Kittie and Racy Red etc I have now got my trolley and I wouldn't do without it now, thanks everyone.

    Moggins,

I could see them all taking looks at it but none of them actually asked me where they could get one. What's the big deal about having a blinking shopping trolley. Even on the way up there I sensed the traffic that was passing was going a little slower than usual to rubber neck at my trolley. ;) They know they all want one don't they, just....
