This thread is all a bit tongue in cheek but there is a really serious purpose behind it and that is to preserve our bodies for when we get old so that we don`t drain the health service

Come on hc it is great to have a bit of banter over such a PRACTICAL device.

I have used my cow print trolley and I have already had some very good comments. We will have to have some special road signs soon `caution trolley pullers crossing`

I haven't been out with mine yet, can't wait though. Going to go up to Lidls and also to Tescos later. I just can't over how much it's going to be able to carry, I'm really chuffed with it. It can carry up to 20kgs so if the little one got tired, I could just throw him in the trolley, and he'd be completely protected from the elements too...;)

    CQ,

I haven't seen the mauve cow print one but I'm sure if you emailed Mr Smallman at Novela he would be happy to oblige with a pic of one. He was always helpful when I phoned or emailed etc.

    Kittie,

Glad to hear you got good comments about your chic shopper etc. I've never seen any fancy, funky type trollies up here, probably moreso down South but only ever seen the tartan old style ones up here so the cow print one will be a change for sure. I don't care what people think, I'm just glad that I'm saving my neck, back etc of lugging all that shopping home. I don't want to be kaput when I get older with backache etc so you're right Kittie, it is practical to have a trolley, despite what some people think or say about them. I don't care so there. :p

  • Have no idea what they are
Well, on Weds I lugged 2 big bags home from Tesco with some mega bargains - I live at the top of a hill - and I try not to use the car if I don't have to - and my neck was still sore yesterday. So I headed off to the discount store and bought a trolley AND IT'S TARTAN!!!!!! - but in beige and black.

In due course I am going to make it a funky replacement bag but for today's library and shopping trip I DON'T CARE. Yesterday I had to wheel it to the car through the university area, meeting at least 2 of DH's students on the way, and no-one laughed or pointed - in fact I reckon they didn't even notice.

And when I brought it home both kids said "cool" and want to have first go with it at half term. So thank you everyone for persuading to get one - I'm just thinking of all those bargauins I can get now.

    Thriftmonster,

Congrats on your new purchase of your trolley/chic shopper whatever you want to call it. Certainly eases the strain on the back and neck for sure. It's great knowing that you can now pick up bulk bargains whereas before you weren't able to. Good on you. :-)

I agree with Smiley Mum. I would never have considered a trolley if it hasn't been for this thread, and all the banter has turned it into a fun thread too :) The trolley has given me so much more freedom that it's worth it's wait in gold. I already suffer from arthritis at the age of 40 and although it's only a mile into the centre of town I am either forced to take the car or not go. Now I can pop in whenever I like knowing that I am not forced to pay a fortune to NCP. I can't even take the bus as they withdrew our service last year :(

    Morning
I have 2 of these wonderful devices. Not for shopping because I fill up the boot of the car, but for summer trips to the beach they are amazing. We have a cool bag one for all the food, bottles of water etc & the other one for swimming gear, towelss & even the beach umbrellas stick down the side. Great for weekends down on the Dorset coast in the summer where the beach & car park are a fair way apart. OH teased at first but since he now doesnt have to carry so much then hes a convert & DS1 & S2 happily pull one each & race each way. We also take one for days out at theme park. I leave them beside the ride whilst we are on it & no-one has ever pinched one (maybe even theives are embarressed to be seen with one ?) & it beats carry 4 jackets, bottled of drink, wet weather gear & all the rest all day.

  • I've noticed more and more lofficetypes, male and female, towing neat black versions instead of struggling with briefcases.
I don't use mine everyday, but I do use it a lot... best thing is it was free !

Free is definately the best kind :grinheart

Yeah, Office/Pilot cases come with wheels and extending handles now too! I remember going out to clients with a neat black wheeled cabin bag a good few years ago. The men looked astonished, the women asked where I'd got it from icon7.gif
