Bangers an' mash is just bangers an' mash. Bubble & Squeak is all those gorgeous left over veggies from a roast, mixed up together (add chopped onion and garlic to taste) and fried 'til there's a nice golden hue to the spuds in the mix. Serve with slices of cold meat (also left over from the previous day's roast). These aren't just 'left overs' they're a meal fit for a king.

I have to disagree - no garlic, Nix the garlic. Not allowed, but cheese is.
I particularly like to with a poached egg on the top.
I'll get me coat :rolleyes:I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
raeh, I kow it's different when its YOU, but I love that photo of you. Tis really nice. When we were clearing out Mum's place, she had hundreds of photos and had followed my Gran's habit of writing on the back who was in them, where it was and the date which is lovely.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0

somebody_else wrote: »Right, we'll have to agree to differ on this one - I'll cook your half sans garlic but with cheese (you'll have to do your own poached egg - I've never been any good with them) and I'll have mine sans cheese but with garlic. If you're really good, I'll let you have the wishbone.:p
Too kind! Do you think there's a chance of T/S cooking it though?I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

as i read through from yesterday i make mental notes to reply to this, this and this and by the time iv clicked reply i cant remember a thing iv read  *nips to read back again*
teeth, well i deffnitely dont want it as sore as it was ever again, so i shall have a good chat with him next monday and arrange to ahve something done. luckily if an appointment is made already i usually will kepp it, its just having to poen up and make appointments that i dont bother doing. luckily this dentist makes all appointments for me which means i rarely miss (and they charge if you dont give 24hours notice of a cancelation so more incentive to go).
s/e sorry you wound up cooking it, but do enjoy the meal out instead, or make him cook when he isnt on call if you dont fancy going out. irksome them phoning home during working hours.

bubble and squeak, someone enlighten me please, my brain is dead and whilst i thought i knew what it was this talk of veg for it has confused me, i thought it was bangers and mash?[/STRIKE] ooh nm its already been covered, thats what i get for not catching up on everything before i start replying.
lw and bz that many people and noise anywhere for more than half an hour uses up all my mental spoons and leaves me drained and exhausted even though i dont have the physical problems you guys do to add to and use more spoons.
i think its bed and book time, so see you all tomorrow. have a good night everyone.0 -
Thanks for the explanation of bubble and squeek, although I think I'm still confused!
I'm really...unsuitable word...off! I've just spend (although I probably shouldn't've) 2hrs making this wardrobe, which looks lovely. Come to put the doors on and one of the rawlplugs round the screw that goes from hinge piece into wardrobe has split and started wrecking the "wood" too! Rang Ikea and I can take back hinge and wardrobe for replacement. Oh excellent(!) So I can take down everything I've just done and get a replacement to start all over again. How nice of you Ikea person!"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Oh bz, it's awful when that happens. Feels like such a waste of time and energy. Please do the bigger one in the room it's to go in or I can see another dismantling on the horizon!
My house fairy worked really hard today and so, in theory, it should be much easier to relax here, but I'm feeling all unsettled again. May have to find a DVD to lose myself in.
s/e, you haven't said, but I hope you are all recovered from the gardening and are pleased with progress made.
I actually managed to get my back mobile enough to cut my toenails tonight! Big accomplishment!
kass, what a pain in the neck. Come back to us tomorrow - hope you are doing OK.
sharon, I hope all was OK today. Continue to send you good thoughts.
I have a feeling my discovery of Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough Ice Cream could become a problem of bz milk chocolate proportions. Is will power available on prescription by any chance?I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0
