  • lw, ohh you lucky thing! I love craft fairs - one of my favourite things. Sorry it took so much out of you.

Confession time here - I had a fall when I was riding and broke 6 teeth. I left it a bit long to get them looked at and ended up getting an infection that went the whole way round my jawbone. I, too, had to have all mine removed - at the age of 39. I just had some new ones done about 18 months ago to improve my profile as the boneloss makes me look so much older, but I can't get on with them and haven't been back to dentist since. I have a terrible fear of dentists and a real complex about my teeth (or lack thereof). My 2nd husband never knew! I never told him! So, I promise to go and deal with it if you do, pcl.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

  • Oh, less s/e. Isn't that just typical. Poor lad probably feels awful. Less so than you though I bet!
The poor s*d couldn't stop apologising last night - at least he enjoyed the meal. He's not had a decent roast in years.
The kids in Cadbury Factory sound like my version of hell on earth.
Afraid I played the 'disabled card' a couple of times to get out of the noise via the staff route rather than following them all round the factory. Actually, despite the fact that the factory is obviously a very old building and disabled people were never even thought about when it was built, there has been quite a lot of thought put into making it accessable.
I hope you have a restful couple of days to get over everything.
Well, I'm not planning on doing anything today (apart from bubble & squeak for dinner tonight), but I shall have to start pottering again tomorrow as this week is also my house fairy week and the clutter will need shifting before she gets here.

 Just had yet another bluddy call from a call center - someone wanting to speak to T/S. I have lost count of the number of times I've answered the phone and told them he works during working hours - call his mobile!. For some strange reason I was just a touch irritated when it just happened. He slammed the phone down on me just as I was about to ask him to put a note on the system that calling the home number is pointless during working hours.

  • Bubble & squeak is one of my fave meals - almost worth making a roast just for that!

I have to confess that b&s is also something I'm partial to. It has to be made with the remains of a roast though - for some reason it doesn't taste the same if the veg are cooked specially for it.

Yes! Funny that isn't it. If the veg used is the rights sort, I sometimes add chunks of cheese into it and bake it in the oven. Loverley!

s/e sorry the meal didnt go to plan :( i do enjoy cooking a roast on sundays, its the one day we always manahge to all sit and eat together as dh works late all week
we constantly get calls from call centres for dh .. just a courtesy call apparently, they regret it when i get started!! For one im registered with tps and i inform them they may be fined, dh isnt around during working hours as obviously like themelves he works and lastly if we should need /windows/credit cards/loans etc etc we are actually intelligent enough to do the research ourselves and someone calling mid afternoon isnt going to make me think oh yes lets replace the windows/get a new credit card or loan

bz, I hope you aren't still overdoing it. Although, knowing you, the wardrobes are probably starting to take shape.
I've been exceedingly good (cakes ;)) so far actually. I very nearly set about making the skinny one yesterday but got stuck into the wedding song lists instead and talking to friends online. Today I've just slept til about 3.30pm , it's getting a bit out of hand tbh, I can't get to sleep til late cos my brain's going but I don't even hear the alarms now.

Am the same as you folk, when I'm not on an even keel, I don't feel much like chatting. I try to force myself as it's good for me, but that's probably when I talk most nonsense and post bad jokes *g*
Oh so that's your excuse now is it? ;)

BZ how's the wardrobe coming along? Can you get to Narnia through it? :D
You made me snort then! Good job I wasn'r drinking at the time! :rotfl:
Um.... I've lost track now; mind's gone blank.

Saturday though, I was flat on my back most of the day. What I don't understand is how sitting in a wheelchair and being pushed can use up so many of my spoons.
I want to know the exact same question! By the time we've made it round the supermarket or Ikea, say, I'm knackered!! I've barely moved a muscle or concentrated on anything, so what's that about??

I'm well impressed with you, BZ, I'd be terrified of having to make a roast dinner for anyone (even if I knew how to cook roast dinner:whistle:). If I'm honest, I panic if I just have to make a cup of tea for a visitor!
Ta very much LW. :) Roasties used to scare me, but they are actually very simple once you know how. And very tasty too :D The tea or coffee I'd be more likely to panic about, especially if I was trying to make a good impression, as I don't drink either and don't really know what I'm doing!!

Cwta & S/e... I'm confused. I thought bubble and squeek was just bangers and mash? (can you tell I was never given it growing up??)

Raeh since you mentioned it I searched out your pics and the pic of you. You're being daft! It's a nice pic!! Be careful of not having many pictures taken, as they are often treasured memories when someone goes away. I'm so happy that we took pictures at my aunt's last summer when we got engaged... I don't want to lay on guilt or emotional blackmail but just think about it?

funny you should mention that, as we were talking about it a few weeks ago at work. Our deputy head's, friends son died in a nasty accident and she was telling us at the funeral they played, on a large screen, loads of photos from when he was born through to his 21st [thats all he was :(] of him and all the family, she had realised that she has no photos of her and her son as she hates them too and always takes the photos. She made me promise for the sake of the kids no matter how much i hate the way i look, that i will have photos taken with them :o i havent yet but you have also made me feel suitably guilty ;)

Oh, no, no, no, no, no
    [Churchill voice off]
Bangers an' mash is just bangers an' mash. Bubble & Squeak is all those gorgeous left over veggies from a roast, mixed up together (add chopped onion and garlic to taste) and fried 'til there's a nice golden hue to the spuds in the mix. Serve with slices of cold meat (also left over from the previous day's roast). These aren't just 'left overs' they're a meal fit for a king. ;)
