Thanks guys. My DD1 went to live with her dad last week too. I did cry a little but not in front of anybody. OH (well ex now) said that I'm hard faced but I'm not, I just know I've survived worse so things will get better this time. You just have to ride it out til it does. Does he think getting all emotional and not being able to function properly because of it will help anyone? Sorry, I just get mad when he feels sorry for himself. Especially when he makes me feel bad for not doing the same thing!

Only thing that does scare me is how I'm going to look after the kids. I'm worried that I can't do it properly. Only time will tell I suppose. Though I know deep down that I can't do it alone. My mate is a social worker, maybe she can point me in the right direction. I also made a note of a shop near me that does ironing. Will just have to see how much it costs.

With regards to the underwear thing. I need underwired bra's though they hurt me. The ones without are so much comfier but don't do the job I'm afraid. I'm putting on more weight so I'm going to need scaffolding soon :D Can't even get one on today I'm so stiff. It's all my own doing though. Went out on Sunday night for my mates birthday and decided that alcohol makes me invincible. I picked my mate up, complete with stool, to get her off my stool. Then arm wrestled my other mate! Mate 1 is only a little skinny thing but mate 2 is a stocky muscly bloke who goes to the gym all the time. Don't know what I was thinking there but I can't hardly move now. :rotfl:

Still, I'm thinking, I'm in pain [strike]most[/strike] all of the time anyway. Sure it makes the pain worse but I had great fun getting there :T

I don't do shopping for clothes. I walk in, do a quick scan and if nothing jumps out at me, walk back out. If I spot something then I buy it and try it on at home. Only problem is that I might feel too ill to go back and so I've ended up with loads of stuff that doesn't fit/looks awful that is out of the thirty day take back thingy.

Im really enjoying this clothes/underwear discussion. I found a website that told you how to measure yourself properly as my bras were too tight, I did everything they said and thank goodness thought Id better double check in M&S before I spend any money on new ones, lucky I did as it turns out Im a completely different size to what the website had worked out.

I wish Id known about the sale earlier, I could of got my Mum to come with me, is it on for a while ? We went to a garden centre this morning and I brought some compost and a few plants for my pots, I would have liked to have done them this afternoon, but knew Id better rest or Id end up in loads of pain again, thats how I pace, I do what needs to be done in the morning and crash out on the sofa in the afternoon.

Kass Im so sorry hun ((((HUGS)))) like cwta said, I wish I could make it all better for you.

Hi guys, if I'd've known you were gonna be this chatty, and from so early, I would've come on when I originally woke up! I woke up about 8ish with the sun streaming in, straight into my eyes (no matter which way I lay ;)) of course and my sinuses killing. Last night I had been thinking (instead of sleeping ) about all the reasons I should really go and see my GP so I rang for an appt with him and he has nothing til Monday (which I booked) but I could see locum tomorrow. I said no ta (don't trust em and can't be bothered to go through the rigmarole of explaining back history) but then rang back after about an hour to make appt with locum too, after all, as I was still in pain with sinuses and still awake. I kind of hope it's not sinusitis (I had the last bout for about 2 months and was basically bed bound), not least because I don't want to take yet more antiflybys, but it would somehow make me feel vindicated about asking GP for help with my cold last time I saw him. I'm sure some daft sod'll tell me I've brought it on myself doing too much... I remember now why I was originally prescribed the Tramadol for the sinusitis :o

Kass sorry about your relationship breakdown and continuing circumstances. I was having a convo with sister (over PMs on here actually ;)) about having a front for family, friends etc (she was saying she wants some alone time so she can let it drop and not have to do it for a bit) and I was saying that it would be nice, but if I really were to show how much pain I was in or how knackered I was it would probably only depress me! So maybe you keeping going and being "hard faced" is just the way you need to be to not fall into the pit, iyswim?

Re underwear I'd love some new stuff, that fit, was comfy, was vaguely presentable (if only to myself ;)) but I know I've put on too much weight for my old size to fit and nearly everything bra wise rubs on my very sensitive lymph/glands area under and around the armpits or the daft "scar tissue" inflammation on my breast bone. I wish I could do without the padding or the underwires, but I actually need scaffolding and the bras without padding generally do nothing for my shape. The crop tops (size exclusive, no wires or padding or faff or expense :T) don't do much for my shape and I'm sure I'd look a stone lighter if I had a decent bra on, but sometimes (i.e. 99.99% ;)) it's just not worth the pain! I've found Asda's knickers haven't particularly been an issue quality wise... especially the Mr Men & Little Miss ranges ;)

I'm like you guys with the trying stuff on too. I get too hot, too knackered and flustered when trying stuff on. I think the wedding dress was the only thing I didn't just buy and take away to try in a good year! I too have gotten stuck in things, both at home and in shops before now. Embarrassing is not even the word. And the way your heart rate increases and you get hotter panicking really doesn't help the anticipation of having to ask for help!! Plus, cos I wear so many bluddy layers, even when in theory they shouldn't be necessary, I'm always worried that I'll smell like hot person... ah the joys of these invisible conditions

    What else was there....?

LameWolf I shouldn't worry too much about OH coming into a disabled changing room with you, I think if there was research done, at least 70% of carers would be opposite sex - usually it's OHs or even children (my DF is his mum's carer), so that wouldn't be an issue if you ask me, which of course you didn't ;). Plus, I went into a changing room (barging fashion ;)) with OH a few months ago in Tesco cos I couldn't be bothered to stand around waiting for him and they had a comfy stool :D Shop assistant did not look at all impressed and started saying something, so I just stared her down and told her that if she wanted to mither with taking the stool out I'd sit there but as it was this was where I was sitting! Looking back I may've been a little harsh, but I guess I didn't give a [STRIKE]f..[/STRIKE]damn that day! :D
I was also going to mention the websites that have measuring guides, but I think you're probably better to use the one from the shop's site you're planning to go to, iyswim. I think they will all be slightly different, which while it's annoying usually means you can find at least one shop that caters for your(general sense) awkwardness - like jeans/trousers for me, there's generally only Dorothy Perkins and occassionally Tescos that cater for my ridiculous figure! ;)

Kass you did have me keep wondering for a while what kind of baby you were refering to! We are talking kitten here, right? :rotfl:

LameWolf I know someone who called their dogs Benson & Hedges!! :rotfl:

PCL I'm with you on the returns thing. I actually bought the same top on seperate occassions in two different sizes in preparation for going to a house party for New Year and actually never went, never wore the tops and yet I still have both, both sat in bags patiently waiting to be taken back - they even survived the move that way! :rotfl:
Mind you, having said that - the last time I went looking for clothes I couldn't find anything that I liked that I could afford, and what I could afford looked awful, so it's been rather academic recently.
Ditto, ditto, ditto. I'm sure it's a conspiracy! There's only ever nice clothes when I'm S.K.I.N.T. yet when I have a bit of money burning a hole it's all a load of pap! My particular favourite was last summer (I think it was) when neon clothes appeared to be all the rage. Funny how you never saw people walking round in these clothes though, apart from, perhaps, some misguided teenagers on their way to some gig or other
How I miss the days (when energy levels weren't so much of an issue) when I could walk into a shop and pick up a pair of size 10 (or 12) trousers or skirt and know that it would fit when I got it home.
Dude, I don't think I've ever had those days!! :rotfl:

    What she said! :D

By the way Kass I'm sure you'll be fine and find a way of managing with the kids, but I'm glad that you're open to asking for help too (ie social worker friend) :) Let us know how you get on, won't you, and you know where to find us :)

Thanks for the link hassie, feel free to stick around and join in, if you've been lurking a while you'll know we're a friendly bunch :)

I think I've blathered on long enough now, so I'll post and see if anyone's posted anything in the mean time that I can twine on about ;)

Ahem... I think it might be because I'm a wee bit older than you. If I remember correctly you're only a year or two older than T/S.

id say thats probably an accurate assessment, i remember back in the day when all shops had size 12 as size bliddy 12 and not 10 or 14 or 8 or 18. i really dont get how they can vary so much these days. and even within the same store.

I now have at least 3 sizes of clothes in my wardrobe. Okay, I accept that I'm no longer a size 10 - I've gained some weight in the last couple of years, but that doesn't explain why I'm apparently a size 10 (still), 12 and 14 (or, in 1 memorable instance a size 8 - I have never been that thin!)

Mind you, I now have slippers, boots and shoes in about 4 sizes - all of them fit, it just depends on where one buys them as to what size I have to buy.

Thanks for the help BZ I am so jealous of raehs garden, its gorgeous, must take a lot of work, but worth it. We only have a tiny back garden and last year had it paved all over so now its like a patio without the added garden ;)
I have a few pots which will soon have flowers in when I get round to it, its much easier to keep nice, but not the same as a lovely big garden like that.
    raeh you look lovely too.

s/e I have the same problem with clothes now, I've always been a size 10 and in Next and M&S a 10 is a comfortable fit with a bit of room, but I brought some size 10 jeans in Zara recently and I couldnt get thempast my thighs
