  • Not quite awake yet, but couldn't read and run without saying thanks for the update Sharon. So pleased you mind is more "still" and that you're feeling more positive. Bad luck with the cystitis. Are you surrounded with hot water bottles?

My dress size has ben all over the place - I was small when I was younger as I was never really interested in food and the managed to get down to a size 8 on the Divorce diet, but I think my digestive system is shot now and weight piles on as I'm so inactive. I don't like it, but in the grand scheme of things, it's a minor irritation.

kass, I'm a believer in letting bad emotions out a little at a time if possible, to prevent a pressure cooker blow out, but you will know what works best for you. Maybe when all the practical issues are sorted out. Hugs to you.

raeh, I wish your Mum and Sis would drive you to the shops ocassionally rather than the other way round! It doesn't sound much like a day off otherwise! I think I need to get to Next sometime soon if they have bargains like that! Hugs.

I need to get my head round things today as I'm off for my Northern Lights trip tomorrow - how exciting! And a little scary - out of my comfort zone a little.

I had a lovely surprise yesterday - a long email from my Mum's best friend. She really wants to stay in contact which is fantastic.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

Ditto what the rest have said Sharon, glad to hear the radiotherapy is over - I remember it was the constant back and forth to hospital that wore mum down, but it was quite a journey and she'd always disliked going into Newcastle - I think it overwhelmed her. I hope the appointment with the orthopaedic surgeon goes well too.

Suep - thank you very much, I would love to have that book, we could start our own little library. We must have got through some books in our time girl :D remember Marion Zimmer Bradley? Not to mention Salley Vickers with "Miss Garnet's Angel". How about you CWTA have you read any of theirs? I also like John Connolly, especially "Bad Men" and "The Black Angel".

Well, must get on - although I think the best of the weather was probably first thing, when I took Mr Cat for a walk in the back garden - on his lead ;)

Morning all, I have to go out soon as Im meeting my fibro friends for lunch.
Before I get on with replyin gto everybody I have to let you know my good news IM GOING TO BE A GRANDMA AGAIN :j Ive known since Sunday, ds2 told me he and his fiance are expecting no. 2 Im so happy for them and its cheered me right up. I didnt say anything straightaway as she used some test that predicts how far gone you are ! what will they think of next ? it said she was only 3 1/2 weeks gone which was a bit early I thought to start broadcasting it, but shes seen the doctor now and he thinks shes about 8 weeks, but I dont think they'll know for cerain until she has the first scan and I cant remember when that is. For those of you who have seen the photos it is Lacies parents, she will make a lovely big sister as shes got such a loving happy nature, mind you she hasnt hit the terrible 2's yet ;)

Anyway, what did i want to say, oh yes, Hi Sharon Im glad the radiotherapy is behind you now, my dads got another couple of weeks of having that and chemo, that was a quick appointment, I hope you have nothing but good news from now on. As for the cystitis, I used to get that a lot, its nasty, I hope you get rid of it soon.
Unity I'll get that book off to you today if I can find a big envelope, I started book 2 yesterday and will get that off as soon as Ive finished it. I love Marion Zimmer Bradley books and think I have most of them, they are definitly keepers.I havnt read any Salley Vickers, I'll have to look that up.
cwta have a wonderful time on your Northern lights trip, when are you back ? we will all miss you.

    Hi everyone.

Sharon nice to see you posting; good luck with the appt next Tuesday. Hope the cranberry juice is helping.

    Sue congratulations!! :j:j:j

CwtA enjoy your Northern Lights trip. No chance I can sneak into your suitcase I suppose? Nah, thought not.

I'm sure there was more I was going to reply to, but my brain's in meltdown. I've just spent the morning doing a marathon stint in the kitchen - carrot & orange cake, nut loaf (to be sliced and put in the freezer when its cooked) and Shepherd Spy for our lunch today. I have to go and put the oven on in a few minutes, to bake all that lot; Mr LW is working from home today, so the timing revolves around his lunch break (1 to 2 pm).

I'd love to look Unity, but the link only takes me to the log in page (unless I'm being spectacularly thick today - which wouldn't surprise me as I was awake 'til around 3 this mornings so I'm not feeling very clever). Having said that, it's finally prodded me into requesting an invite.

bz they sneakily changed the sizing scale, im sure of it *nods*.
I quite agree :D If I was from another era I'd have a sought after physique...I'm the Marilyn Munroe of my time ;)

I've been to the docs, seen the locum, got antiflybotics and should now be in the shower/out the shower ready to take MIL2B to her appt...but...well....I can't be @rsed basically!

I know the feeling - I've got as far as getting the ironing sorted and into the sitting room. The iron's switched on and the ironing boards put up. Has any ironing taken place so far? Has it heck!

One of my fibro friends who I meet for lunch on a Wednesday has just been turned down for DLA, shes got an app with CAB tomorrow and wants to take a good list of symptoms with her. Ive just gone to send her the list on the Devin Starlanyl site but its under construction at the moment so nothings working, does anyone else know of a good list ?

Im off to search for her and I'll pop back in a while just incase.

Sorry about that S/E - try this instead http://www.interweaveknits.com/preview/2006_summer.asp you'll find it about half way down the page. I'll look forward to seeing you on Ravelry then :T and there is of course an MSE group on there too:j.

Have a wonderful Aurora trip CWTA - wish I was going with you :o.

Suep don't dash out on my account - I'm reading 'Nella Last's War' at present and I'm loving it :T. It's like listening to my aunt telling tales of those days again - she died 24 years ago aged 81 after cleaning her windows inside and out and mowing the lawn. She had even cleaned the lawnmower (bless her) before she had a massive stroke. Those women who managed to keep going through bombing and rationing and still got a tasty meal on the table deserve medals! I also have 'Nella Last's Peace' to start on too :j:j:j.

You must try Salley Vickers - she's brilliant and did you ever get to read 'The Birth of Venus' http://www.amazon.co.uk/Birth-Venus-Sarah-Dunant/dp/1844080358/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1237993221&sr=8-1 It's one of the most intriguing books I've ever read.

I have to say that sometimes when the pain is at its worst, my only means of escape is via a good book. Not always a brilliant piece of literature (although I think 'The Castle' by Franz Kafka is one of my favourite books) often it's enough to have a good story - well told, like Stephen King. I particularly like children's books - well books for teenagers as they are very hard to please and that's one of the reasons I like Graham Joyce - try 'Do the Creepy Thing' or 'Tooth Fairy' to name but two :D.

I'm going to sit in the sun for a while and knit - if I can manage it;).
