bz your ring is GAWJUSSSS
all i wear is my wedding band which is normal gold, as waaay back when dinosaurs roamed you never really saw white gold :(and i much prefer silver and white gold
good luck if you decide to trot off to the traffors centre for the shoes
I did indeed trot off to the Trafford Centre with DF (Dearest Fiance
) and I was even very good, swallowed my pride, and went in the Shopmobility place and used one of their wheelchairs for free!
It meant that not only could I go look for and BUY (yep, I got em! :T) my wedding shoes, but also managed to go in a few jewellers to have a look at wedding rings for us both, but also have a mooch at ties (none of which are the right colour ) and suits (ditto the colour). When we went into a particular jewellers (can't remember name but was expenny!) and enquired about getting a wedding ring for me made, I showed her my ring and her eyes nearly popped out!
Asked me if it was custom made for us and I told her it was De Beers...:D So satisfying watching their expressions
(I'm not a snob, honest, just take great pride and joy in my ring
)
I don't think the shoes I bought really go with the dress, but I really like them and no one will see them anywayand I can wear them after the wedding too. And if I spot something better suited then I have bought a £40 pair of gorgeous shoes with a brilliant excuse!
I've just uploaded piccies of my new shoes (:j) and whilst I did that I realised thatI don't think I showed you the pics of the new house... you interested, or shall I crawl back into the corner and rock?

aye the movie never ever lives up to expectations, its why i much prefer to read the book first, then i can be annoying and complain about what they left out alltogether or changed.
Suep I'm with Cwta, I'm so pleased for you with your scooter! I bet it's a bit like a new lease of life isn't it?
I forgot to mention, to whoever first brought it up, that I too can't deal with crowds. I've gotten gradually worse over time I think. I used to not be able to just deal with people getting in my way (more when I was a teen), then I rationalised it into Health and Safety terms (like what would happen now if there was a fire, etc ) and now I've realised I just don't like people!DF did also say today that he'd find it harder to push me round the Trafford Centre if it was busier than it was today. People are ignorant though.
I'm with you on the gig thing too Cwta. I couple times in the past gigs have come up where I like who's playing or whatever, but I would never dream of going cos I just couldn't stand being there with so many other people. Mind you, I don't like being on my own either, so I'm obviously hard to please! :rotfl: Back in the day Michael Jackson was up there in the same sort of unapproachability league as Freddie Mercury, but tbh he creeps me out now. Has done for a good too many years. *shudders*Kassandra wrote:There is someone on here who says that he knows of a specialist in Bolton who tests for this and also does mitochondrial testing (something to do with ME I think).Bolton's not too far for me either...
Am I the only one intrigued now by Raeh and Unity's opinions re Jade Goody/Tweed now...?"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
I'm definately intrigued Re; Jade Goody
Well bz. The mitochondria is a cell part that is responsible for producing energy. They produce ATP which is used in your muscles to contract and relax them. They say that with ME, the cause of it may be due cardiomyopathy but that the cardiomyopathy is caused by the mitochondria that have malfunctioned. This is because the heart is the largest muscle so there are lots of mitochondria present.
Are you with me so far? I'm really carp at explaining things
So, because it's the hearts job to maintain blood pressure, if the heart isn't working properly, then it has to reduce blood supply to the body. This causes some of the symptoms experienced by CFS sufferers. They say the body kind of shuts down organs depending on how important they are.
So the skin, for example, fails to control body temperature properly which is why they are sensitive to climate conditions. Then it's the muscles. Lack of blood supply means they have to work without oxygen which then causes the build up of some kind of acids which can create pain and burning. It goes on and it's quite interesting, but the point of it is, if these scientists are right in their theory, then you can do a blood test to determine your mitochondrial function. It's called an ATP profile I think.
This bloke in Bolton though, seems to do more than that test at the same time, like the test for Lyme. I've yet to speak to the doc, which I would always do before taking any kind of tests/treatment from anyone elseI'm hoping to get in, in the morning so I shall let you know what she says about it all. The bloke who posted about this guy hasn't got back to me with any details but if he does then I shall pass them on. It was two years ago when he posted that so he might not still be hanging out here.
If you want the link to where I got the info about mitochondria just gis a shout and I'll find it0 -
Them shoes are bloody gawjuss!!!
I went to the same school as raeh
They are seriously pretty bz, you're gonna look beautiful :T0 -
Aww thanks Kass, both for the explanation and the compliments.
(I would like the link, aye)
Not sure how you managed to sneak a "bloody" past the teacher though, I'm sure it usually sensors that one!"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Morning all!
Looovely shoes, BZ. *is a shoe fiend* x Nice one, SueP. x
I too am no good with crowds at the moment-especially malls and the like ('fizzy', buzzy, flickery strip lighting, disorientating noises, people bumping into me-normally my knees, ribs and/or back, omg! OW! ) "Homicidal maniac" does not look good on me.
The only time I don't mind it, is going to a gig but even then they are low key ones, not 'arena' ones and I have a couple of drinks to 'take the edge off', lol. I am hoping to get 'better' enough for getting right in there at gigs again, because music is a huge part of my life and although I'll never be mosh pit girl again, I'd like to be able to dance for more than a song. Harrumph.
Anyways, I am up and dressed before 9. It's....Doctor Daaaaay. Which door will the pain killers be behind?
Will it be:
Door a) "You really need to try your tens again." *rolls eyes* What on my face and eyes, knees, hips, ankles, back and neck?
Door b) "Hmmm-take paracetamol with them too." or
Door c) "Here you go-hopefully you will stop sobbing half the day away now. Go be human!" :rotfl:
Wish me luck. If I can cope with the walk, I am off to the Job Centre later to ask for benefit forms to have a shufty too. EEK! Very nerve wracking-those places are normally another strip lighting, stinky fabric nightmare (does any-one else hate 'that' library/school hard wearing fabric/new carpet stink as much as me?)
Have a good day peepulls. :T It's a blue sky out of my window-hope it is for you, too. xxxx(((spoons)))0 -
Oh Kitty, those places are horrible. In the market near me they have those flourescent/Uv/whatever lights. You know the purple ones that stop heroin addicts using the toilets as it prevents you seeing your veins? I can't even go in those toilets. It feels like my brain is coming under attack and I get really disorientated. Good luck at the doc's. Choose door three!!!!!
Bloody aint a swear word is it bz? We used to get all giddy as kids when we were at our aunts cos she didn't class tw@ as a swear word as it's real meaning is a pregnant fish. We thought it was great that we could get away with something so naughty!
http://www.freedomfromme.co.uk/docs/mitochondrial_function.pdf
That's the link lovey, hope it helps
xxxx0 -
Actually bz, it might not be a blood test for the mitochondria. It might be a biopsy, but you can still have some kind of test for it, and, if these doc's are right, treatment too!!0

Not quite brain awake yet, but mitochondria stuff really interesting to me as my problems started off with pericarditis - infection around the heart. Makes a lot more sense to me that the diagnosis of MCTD. Shall read and digest.
p.s. Good luck at Docs mateyI must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
kitty good luck at the docs, fingers crossed for door c. and eep job centers are always horrid, nasty places, good luck there too.
bz beautiful shoes, good buy imoand since you mentioned new house photos i had a nosey, its loverly, all settled in nicely now?
it does usually filter bloody, i noticed because i forgot about the censors and couldnt work out why people were typing with *s and things instead of letters, so strange it let that one through.
its a beautiful, bright day here too but not a spevk of blue sky insight despite the sun getting through. hope everyone has a good day.0 -

). House is very habitable and mostly settled. Just really need some wardrobes tbh -we can't find some that are the right size and style for the right price. Always the way  OH spent a couple of hours in the garage last night while I was roasting some tea (mmmmm roasties!) and you can actually get in and out in a straight line without breaking anything! :T
Kitty I hope you get door number 3. I can't deal with those lights either - it usually gets my tinnitus before it gets my eyes, but neither is pleasant. Also, are you aware that you can ring the Benefits Enquiry Line and ask about the various benefits and they will send you out the forms (ergo no need for the nastily carpetted Jobcentre) and they record on your file the date you enquired and (so long as you get the form back in a timely fashion - usually there's a date to have it back by on the front) if you're successful in your claim they backdate your payments to that date. Snorted!
I'm full of my never-ending cold again this [STRIKE]morning[/STRIKE]afternoon. Father rang me and woke me up (despite the Wii arriving at 8.30am I managed to go back to sleep!!). Not sure why he's ringing as mother already rang yesterday and I'm of the deep suspicion that he is merely bored. It was sooo peaceful last week when they weren't ringing (pretty much everyday before that!) ...maybe I should do the "ungrateful daughter" routine again and see how much peace I get this time? The upside was that mum told me that my Aunt (terminal cancer patient) got my letter and was really touched by it. :T It was bluddy difficult to write I can tell ya, but I'm glad she got it and that it had the right effect.
Now then... I might have to go and investigate this Wii situation..."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0
