Ah I see now. I understand some more! Well, for your sake then I really hope you do have Lyme Disease instead of this nasty ol' incurable Fibro!
I reckon it's worth getting checked is what I reckon."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -

Oh My God(s)!!
I'm sooooo excited. I think I might have Lyme Disease!!
Gonna skip to the doc's on Monday!!!!!!
I hope you have more success than I did Kass. I was bitten by a tick on Dartmoor (well known hot spot) I still have the scar from the bite on my foot. I even had the blood test although the rheumatologist was dead keen on the fibro theory . Evidently the results were lost  and after much battling I'm afraid I was too tired and ill to battle any more - plus it's only helpful if you get treatment quickly and I didn't.
I gave up! Shocking init? I dunno if I am alone in thinking there are only so many battles you can fight - but I don't think I was given enough spoons, or I used them up stirring too many other things.
The more I think about it, the more it rings true. It was a really bad summer (possibly '89) and we went on holiday to Devon, where it rained persistently. Anyway I got bitten and developed flu-like symptoms which I put down to the blasted weather. The pain set in shortly after we returned home, first in one hip and then the other and progressing from there, but despite pestering my then GP it was another five years until I got dxd with fibro and maybe six before I even heard of Lyme disease.
If it is any consolation, there are a lot of pics now on the Net showing what a tick bite looks like - so you would know definitely if you'd had one. Mine was classic, looking back - about the size of a 50p, well swollen, with a definite hole in the middle. It oozed watery stuff - probably lymph and like I say left a definite small white scar.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but I'm guessing it's a bit late for me to worry over it nowOh b*gger

Are we the only two Raeh who don't do crowds? I'm genuinely interested as I don't think I was like this BF (before fibro). Glad to know I'm not the only one with an opinion on Jade Goody
- not to mention the viewing public, which of course you didn't
, but that's probably best not gone into on here, pm me for a good debate
.
CWTA - please pm me with the book series too - Suep and I often discuss our new findings off-list. I've just finished that one 'The Suspicions of Mr Whicher' by Kate Summerscale and can't imagine why it is so popular. I hate to think I have wasted time - but that was the feeling with this one, despite persevering to the end in case it redeemed itself! I recently gave up on 'Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell' by Susanna Clarke due to flashes of genius obscured by a fog of mediocrity. I need another Graham Joyce or Phil Rickman fix :T.
Must get going and get the washing out - as usual Raeh is way ahead of me.

bz your ring is GAWJUSSSS
And you work in a school too?! Tut. The education standards are really dropping.
I agree with timing of various visits like that too - I only ever go to Matinees at the Theatre unless it's something I can't bear to miss that is only on in the evenings.
My ex-SIL has managed to get 3 tickets for Michael Jackson in September at O2 - I don't think I could manage it as it's a huge venue, but whatever you think of the man, he is/was a musical genius.
My wedding ring (1st marriage) wqas £23.50 - am shocked I remember! We had an argument in the shop when we bought them as I had previously said I wanted a "D" style ring and then chose something else. So I got "But you said you wanted ...." etc. I should have known there and then!
Totally agree with Suspicions of Whicher and Jonathan Strange - both really disappointing. And I have a similar response to Trialia, when Dan Brown is mentioned!
I don't like crowds either. A lot of it stems back to when I was in early 20's and used to have panic attacks, but I'm now so protective of myself and worried about getting knocked etc. Also the noise and unpredictability of crowds makes me uncomfortable.
Years and years ago - maybe the 80's, when 1st ex-DH had just joined the police force, there was a fund raiser for the family of one of the Water Police who had died from Lyme Disease. It's strange to think it's been around that long, but at least they can treat it now.
Sunny day here which would be lovely if I didn't have a soddin headache. But I must go to the recycling bins or the car will start to overflow. There's something satisfying about smashing glass bottles in the bins. Great stress reliever.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
bz gorgeous ring and nice shoes.
i dont do crowds either, if i cant avoid it i usually end up not staying/finishing whatever i was supposed to be doing anyway. thats why the majority of my shopping is done online, id never survive without the internets.
books *drools* i havent been to my sisters to steal erm borrow any books lately. (i do so wish the library wasnt in town), may have to plan a visit in the next month or so. i have the book of marley and me but didnt realise they had made it into a movie. let me know if its good as a movie please? i may go see it if it is.0 -
PCL, never, ever, ever, go see a movie when you have read the book! I always find them soooo disappointing. When you read a book, you make it your own. They are so subjective and the film will never match your expectations.
Hear hear, Auntie Axe. Micheal Jackson was superb in his time. I'm with you on the smashing bottles thing too
raeh, I know what you mean. I'm not sure how I would feel knowing that I could have had my life back a long time ago. Plus, the longer it is left the less chance there is of getting rid of it. So imagine if it is Lyme but I can't get rid of it cos it is too late
I think that is what you're saying Unity, isn't it? But you don't know for definate (if it is Lyme) that you won't be able to treat it. I don't remember a bite but it does say that you can get bitten and not realise it. There is someone on here who says that he knows of a specialist in Bolton who tests for this and also does mitochondrial testing (something to do with ME I think). He left the post in 06 though so he might not still be around. He reckons this specialist is the only one he knows of in the country and if you can't get to Bolton then he sends out blood slide kits  for you to do at home and will provide a consultation over the phone. I've sent the dude a message for the blokes details but I don't know if I will hear anything.
raeh, I don't like normal gold but I have my mums claddagh which is gold and don't want to stop wearing it. I'm going to look into getting it silver or white gold plated then everyone's a winner! (the everyone being me of course)

Hi all, thanks for all the happy birthday wishes, I had a lovely but hectic day yesterday with all the family round, of course I ended up overdoing it and have payed for it today but as it was such a bright sunny day today we decided we couldn't stay in so went with dh and dog and scooter for a long walk ( ride
) along the prom;) , it was about a 4 mile round trip and scooter battery was almost dead by the time we got back to the car, but we made it. I havnt been down the seafront for years and really enjoyed it.
cwta Thankyou for thinking of me for the book, I cant wait :j
I hate crowds too , they never used to bother me, I had my first panic attack a couple of years ago in a crowded M&S.
