Hi Elliot :hello: Lots of Doc's are the same but as the others say, don't despair. He wouldn't be able to give you a diagnosis straightaway anyway. They have to rule out so many other things before they look at Fibro. If you don't get anywhere after you've had the tests done then maybe you could look at changing. I think the younger doctors are more up on it as it's a fairly new disease/syndrome/whatever! Well the recognition of it is anyway. I too had to give up Uni because of this but hopefully I will be able to go back once me and the doc have sorted my meds out so i can manage. Just think of it as a temporary thing. Once you find out what's causing the problems you can start to deal with them and go back. I'm going to go back part time and I know there will be support and things available to make things slightly easier. You're doing a positive thing in dealing with it now and taking charge of the situation

Sharon, you keep lurking love and we will try and keep you amused :D

raeh, I get that feeling too. It's horrible isn't it.

Can't remember what else I was going to say!

Oooh thanks LW I might try that. They seem really easy to make too.

BZ, I had a look at the dresses, they're lovely. Can I have the link to your wedding website? I've never heard of them before!

    Hi all,
I lurked yesterday as I was on a real downer and didnt want to inflict myself on you. The reason was I have been having a really bad time with the pain in my lower back and hip over the last few months, it used to flare up now and then, but now it seems to be with me permantly and nothing helps , so I finally decided to go to the doctors yesterday ( I hate going) Couldnt see my own doc and ended up with some young girl, I explained the situation and she said 'what do you want me to do ' so I asked for stronger pain meds and apparently the next one up is morphine and I cant have that as it's addictive ! I said whats the difference if I have to take it every day anyway, I dont especially want to go on it, but others with Fibro use it for bad days and it works for them, so then she said 'we only use it for cancer patients and those with severe acute pain' I gave up after that and asked if I could have my pregabalin increased as Im on a low dose anyway, she's doubled the dose for me, I just hope it works. Thats what set me off in a bad mood and oh pushed me right over the edge when I got home

I do feel a bit more like myself today though, maybe its because the pains not quite so bad today and the suns shining.

Hi to Elliot , if nothing shows up in your tests, you could ask to be referred to a Rheumatologist, thats who dx me. ( Hope that doesnt count as medical advice  )

I hope everyone else is ok

Awww ((((Sue)))) have a better day tomorrow.

In fact, as I've just realised its POETS day (P*** Off Early Tomorrow's Saturday) I shall wish all my pals here a lovely weekend.:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • sue, poor lovey. I've got loads of hugs to go round, so you can have extras from me. Let's hope that days where you feel like that are few and far between.

My fab GP does ask me (in a nice way) what I think would help and I quite like it as she acknowledges the fact that I know myself and my pain and have educated myself.

LW, have a good weekend. I think I may try the cheeseburger impossible pie this weekend. It's a bonus for me as I'm not a great fan of pastry.

BZ, I hope yer pregawotsit is helping you as you seem a little more perky.

raeh, am just starting to feel like death warmed up, so that's an improvement *g*. This really has been a nasty bug and has completely floored me. Body is just trying to decide whether to have a chest infection or not at the moment I think. Really painful and nasty cough.
Plus side is I think I'll feel like a new woman when I get to finally wake up without it and there'll be no stopping me!

sharon, Come on over here and have a special hug reserved especially for you - no dodgy threesome in sight.
If you want a getaway weekend in Cornwall with hubby, just let me know and we'll work something out. You would have to put up with cat here, but otherwise, my flat is at your disposal. I MEAN IT.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

Thanks everyone, today has had its highlights, I recently becoame a vegan and today I discovered Montezumas handmade vegan chocolate which is gorgeous, then this afternoon I made a vegan chocolate and orange cake which is very Yummy, so Im gorging on chocolate tonight, it's the best cure for down patches. :D (thats not medical advice either)

I will give the extra dose of pregabby a try but if it hasnt helped after a few weeks I will go back to the doctors, but make sure I see my own doc who is a bit more understanding. Thanks again for the support. :T
