Fibromyalgia (part 2)

ElliotReid wrote: »Hello ladies and gents
Hope you don't mind me popping in, I've been being nosy for a bit in here and thought it best to introduce myself.
Until about 10 minutes ago I was a full time student, now I'm pretty much in limbo as I've had to withdraw due to pretty crappy health.
I've got to go and see my doctor in the morning - the thought that terrifies me more than any other as he is really NOT that supportive - and explain that I think I have Fibromyalgia on top of my other health concerns. I know self diagnosis is a bad bad thing but I have a 2 page list of symptoms to take with me (I have such a poor short term memory I write him a letter when I go to make sure I remember to tell everything :rotfl: )
This is me: (With a couple removed because of embarassingness)
http://glitteredsky.co.uk/mysymptoms.html
(done as a webpage as it made for an exessively long post full of embarassing things so if you want to skip it you can)
Am I on a highway to nothing or do I qualify to join you?!
Welcome to our little part of the internet. Like many others here I don't have fibro (actually, thinking about it, it's about the only thing that hasn't been mooted as a potential diagnosis), but I share some symptoms with all who post here.
Just jump in and join in as and when you feel like it.s/e0 -

Thanks guys
Much appreciated.
I have thought about changing doctors but he/they (there's two but I chose to go and see just the one when he's on as he's easier to understand and slightly more approachable) have been my family doctors since before I was born and my mum is dead against me moving  Having said that if I get no joy when trying to say something tomorrow I will def look into it as I can't go on feeling like this. I've already done one massive step back and forward together today from leaving my course to concentrate on my health - I can do this!(If I don't it'll be like being in a never ending spiral!
Thanks for the warm welcome, looking forward to chatting to you!Homer: Don't you worry about Wikipedia. We'll change it when we get home.

Welcome elliot and congratulations on taking control of the management your health. It's a very positive step.
LW, so sorry bout your snuffles. If you do have this cold, you need to take it seriously. It's particularly nasty. I normally take up a sick bed on the sofa, but have actually retired back to bed a couple of days which is really unlike me.
Unity, my 1st wedding was v small - only 14 of us and I had saved a budget amount for wedding, honeymoon and 1st house white goods.
Funnily enough, I could have got married in v upmarket place - one of the chapels in Westminster Cathedral! Far too shy for ought like that and don't really "do" ostentation.
S/e hope you are resting quietly after taking car of your froglets. Just none near here please? Otherwise the cat brings them in and me no likey!
Oh dear on the subject of control freaks. It's a bit of a running joke in our family as we all are. I have to arrange peoples herbs alphabetically.
That being said though, I am so much more laid back than I used to be - or is that the "l" word?
raeh you mention the feeling of impending doom - is that if you don't take control of things? Of course you're not talking nonsense - if you can't bare your soul to us, where is safe to do it?
It sounds a horrid feeling - do you think it's a panic attack? Have an 'ug from me to keep you and yours safe.
bz I would reply properly, but my eyes are still dazzled from the engagement ring.
I may be back after a cup of caffeine (I warn you) - the fully leaded type as a treat.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

Does anyone feel like making my bed for me? I did manage to strip it this morning (completely for a change, 'cos I felt I ought to turn the mattress), and so far I've managed to get as far as putting the electric blancket, mattress cover and bottom sheet back on the bed. I've still got to put the duvet cover on, the pillow protectors and the pillow cases back on before I can even think about clambering into bed and I am soooooooo tired and I wanna go to bed. <wail> [Yes, I know, I'm being paffetic.]s/e0
