Saw Dr. Kinsella Tuesday morning, and he wants me to increase my Lyrica from 75mg at night to 150mg at night and 75mg in the morning, he said he thinks it's my best bet at present. He also gave me some kind of anaesthetic/painkilling cream for the jaw muscle spasms, he said they use it in the maxillofacial department and it may help. But that's all the painkillers I have right now... Nothing whatsoever for breakthrough. That worries me a bit...

Anyway, won't be on much this weekend as I'm house-sitting for my cousin in Stretford while he's in London, and he has no internet. I'll see you all soon, I hope. Stay safe.

Have a good weekend Trialia, and perhaps have a restful break while you're house-sitting.

I'll counter that by asking how many tops are you planning to wear to your hen do?:D

Molly-Dog's going home on Sunday, so I'll probably feel a bit lost next week.
Don't know if I'll get online at the weekend, so in case I don't, have a good one, all.:o

Unity your procedure sounds most unpleasant; the fact that you're looking forward to it emphasises what you've been having to put up with. Sorry to hear that the blisters and all the other horrid stuff has returned.:(

Ditto with bells, whistles and morris dancers *g*

lw I have 4 chooks that I keep on Dad's land - there's not really enough room here in the garden. I did try to persuade them to let me have pigs, but they drew the line  Shame as I love pigs and they're so intelligent.

bz In answer to how many tops etc, you can buy as many as you like as it's your hen night :D I'm a bad influence :p

sue Hope you have a restful weekend - you've had a hectic week or so and I'll try to catch up with you soon.

Tria A change can be as good as a rest - hope you get to recoup some energy.

kass I hope the to do with the Lyrica settles down soon and that you find it gives you some relief.

I am tuckered out, but hope to have a quiet weekend keeping Dad company, but just chilling out and reading the papers or summat. I wish I had some time between all this and going away to recover, but there's no use trying to wish for something that ain't gonna happen.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone if we don't cross paths.

I've been with DS for his pre-op assessment today and was really pleasantly surprised at the precautions being taken against MRSA these days. He had swabs taken (throat and nose) and was then given a bottle of special shower gel to use for five days before he goes into hospital. He has to apply it all over, leave for two mins and then rinse off and on two occasions he needs to wash his hair with it too.

He probably won't have a cast - instead he will have a splint and this will be too big for him to manage wearing trousers so he'll have to have shorts - just as well it isn't winter :D. Poor lad is more concerned that he has an interview in Edinburgh in two weeks and if successful will then need to go to London for a day in September, so he's wondering how he is going to manage travelling with crutches

The pain in your foot - I had the same/similar recently and it took me ages to work out (backed up by GP) that it wasn't that I'd damaged it in any way - it was just that the muscles/tendons etc had gone into spasm and had effectively caused a sprain/strain, which was why it hurt. HTH

I've had this a couple of times previously - both smack bang in the same place and although it may be to do with the chronic instability of the lateral ligaments (caused by a bad fall when I was pregnant with my eldest) the pain is very similar to what I get in my thigh (same leg). I know that this is due to a cyst in the thigh bone and there is a definite bony lump on my foot, that can be felt where it hurts. If it's that, then it's just another of those things to "put up with" :o. I was offered an op for the one in my thigh but it would leave my left leg shorter than the right which would put unnecessary strain on my spine again  bummer! What can't be enjoyed must be endured :o. My feet are small enough already without the idea of having a cyst taken out of one of them  - I'll end up in infant school shoes :D - no VAT though of coourse ;).

As for the squares, I was intrigued why they'd need blankets so investigated... the weblink said it was for cancer victims who are struggling with fuel bills etc and they feel the cold more since getting ill. Something more eloquently put than that tho, obviously

Good point, all the others who asked me obviously didn't read all the way down either - but I suspect they'd already succumbed to looking at the patterns to download. I still bet my dear friend with BC would still prefer the knitted wine bottle holder :D:D:D.

DF118 - according to Google - are dihydrocodeine! Mind you - if you want to see what some folk do for kicks look here http://www.partyvibe.com/forums/pda/t-2087.html I couldn't believe there were people around who would do this for fun. Heaven knows what they'd do with my morphine patches - probably suck them! Eejits:mad:.

    Good grief!!

Brilliant about the precautions they are taking with the MRSA - 'bout time too.
Will DS have one of those splints that flexes at his knee or is his knee part of the problem? Sorry,I can't remember :o

He could always slit a pair of trousers down one of the seams and pop velcro fasteners across to give more room or safety pins?

Alas - no his knee has to be kept rigid - he's having a piece of his hamstring taken out and used to rebuild his cruciate ligament as it is totally shot. Unfortunately although there is often a choice in how they manage this injury i.e. "conservatively" (without an op) in his case it was too late since the original A & E doctor didn't spot it . Unfortunately he already has degenerative changes in the joint and he's not even 21 yet! Sadly we have had to pass this on to legal bods as it has been a total fiasco - if you remember. He was wearing the wrong team top for the city where he had the accident - although he was infact playing in a friendly for their university . So basically he was sent home with a tubigrip and a pair of crutches.

You couldn't make it up .
