Hi moominda! Just wanted to pop in and wave at you. Glad you've joined us.

I'm still feeling like a zombie and can't really focus or keep my eye's still so I've been mooching about in the background. Hopefully I'll get used to them but they are knocking me out during the day. After I take my first one on a morning I have to lay down for a few hours and I'm in a kind of trance. Not asleep but not quite compus mentus iykwim? Does anybody else recognise this from when they first started taking Lyrica?

Sharon That's a brill idea! I can collect them and take them to the chooks! I hate the idea of killing them myself, but that's a case of survival of the fittest.
You're not just a pretty face, eh?! :D

Well, I've finally caught up. Phew! I have been up to my ears in wedding prep, you're right lw. I'm only on at this stupid o'clock because I got so wound up about one of the "friends" [STRIKE]who needs culling figuratively and literally [/STRIKE] wound me up so much about the hen do plans. It's a really long story, but suffice it to say that if she'd been listening to me for the last 6 months, or indeed seen me for more than a couple of hours (total), then she wouldn't be meeting such resistance now.:rolleyes:

CwtA you could try beer traps for the slugs. Best use I can think of for Greene King IPA.
I have a few friends that would shoot you for that disparaging mention of Green King IPA (altho I might have to agree with you). I was however going to mention about beer traps Auntie Axe as I used to do it at the old slug infested house.

Added to this is a really bad pain in my left foot. It's not the joint, it's running along the outside edge and I'm finding it very painful to walk on.

...Mind you a few people have been asking why cancer patients would need blankets and it is a valid point - I am sure my good friend with BC would prefer I knitted a cover for her wine bottle :D..
The pain in your foot - I had the same/similar recently and it took me ages to work out (backed up by GP) that it wasn't that I'd damaged it in any way - it was just that the muscles/tendons etc had gone into spasm and had effectively caused a sprain/strain, which was why it hurt. HTH

As for the squares, I was intrigued why they'd need blankets so investigated... the weblink said it was for cancer victims who are struggling with fuel bills etc and they feel the cold more since getting ill. Something more eloquently put than that tho, obviously

I second (third, fourth, or seventeenth) the welcoming of moominda  (btw, what is DF118? Never heard of it)

The beginning of Lyrica taking is indeed recognised in that way my sweet. I don't know about you, but I was prescribed 75mg day and night and I started my first week just taking them at night and then went on to both doses in the second week. raeh had the same probs too, if I recall.

    Suep
    good news about your dad:)

    Sharon
good to see you posting and that there's a plan again :)

    raeh

 to any/everyone else. I'm too knackered to write much on what's been going on here, but at least I'm now caught up on you guys again ;)

Yeah bz, I'm on 75mg twice a day. He was gonna give me 50mg 3 times a day but changed his mind. I wonder if I should have started just taking them on a night but he never told me to do that. My doctor has left  I nearly started crying when they told me, how sad is that!! I'm fighting it today by keeping myself busy.

    Hugs to all xxxx

It is yes. Can't say I'm looking forward to it. It's a really long story, but essentially my best friend from childhood (who has since let me down more than I can regale) organised it as a surprise (even tho I specifically asked for details so it didn't stress me out)....but I can't help but wonder why, seeing as she's made no real effort to see me in the last 3 months, or even 6 months (or a long long while). She's the one that wanted me to put off my wedding planning til May, when she finished uni, so she could "help"...but I've not seen her for more than about 2hrs since she finished uni, and she certainly has done no helping.
Now, I can be a patient person...and terminally understanding at times...and I loathe a confrontation - but this girl is taking the persistance!

Gutted. I think I'd be the same tbh Kass! Mine didn't tell me to do that either - and this is in no way medical advice of course - but because I only took my Amitriptyline at home I only remembered to take it at night, so it ended up getting on for a week before taking it twice a day. I'm pretty sure raeh ended up with the same dealio...?

:hello:Afternoon, Fibromites, Lupies and assorted others.:D

Sharon I wish you lived near me; your hubby could come and collect my slugs then. I can't abide dealing with the horrid little things. Ugh! *Shudders*

Unity your procedure sounds most unpleasant; the fact that you're looking forward to it emphasises what you've been having to put up with. Sorry to hear that the blisters and all the other horrid stuff has returned.:(

Sue I'm a dog person myself, but I still enjoyed the link.:o

Kass I hope you get settled with the Lyrica soon. If it's any consolation at all, I'm knocked out every flippin' morning. That's just the way the lupus affects me though; rheumy says I just have to learn to live with it.
    How's Charlie Kitten, btw?

CwtA the aquarium's looking good. I hadn't realised (or had forgotten) that you had chooks. Mind you, I didn't know they ate slugs......

BZ enjoy your hen night! Re the friend who's supposedly organising it, *sigh* sometimes it doesn't matter that you've known them for years. it could just be time for the parting of the ways, iyswim.
Regarding GK IPA, give me a decent pint of Wychwood Hobgoblin any way of the week!:rotfl:
:hello:to everyone else..... I've sort of run out of steam now. LOL
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
