kass they broke up a few weeks ago in northern ireland, end of june, and dont go back until september, i used ot love havign all of jul and all of august of :)

sharon glad you had such a good time at the zoo and the show and that the wheelchair worked out so well.

saucy good luck with deciding and trying to sort things. as for the op being in december or you ahvign to pay, if it did end up being exam tinme you should then be entitled to extenuating circumstances whihc would mean you do the exams at resit time instead.

pap im afraid im riubbish at motivation too, having to be somewhere at certain time gets me somewhat organised but otherwise nothing gets done.

Hi all, I've been asleep for over 2 hours this afternoon and not long been awake. It's great to hear some good news isnt it.

Trailia Congratsave you thought what you want to spend the money on yet ?

Sharon Im glad you had a good day out at the zoo.

Im sorry that a few are still having a bad time though.

Pap I get that lowback/bum pain, it goes right down my leg and into my foot, and I also get it from my neck/shoulder and down my arm into my hand. My gp says the lower pain is sciatica and the Rheumi says it's sacriollic joint pain . They both say the neck pain isnt connected, but it always starts up not long after the lower pain and I can feel it running along the right side of my spine, sometimes it even spreads to the right side of my face which feels numb, the gp thinks it might be a trapped nerve in my neck but it does seem to be pretty common with fibro. The only thing that gives me any relief is my tens machine and electric heat pad which is like a small electric blanket that I got from Argos.

Saucy secrets It's a hard desicion that only you can make Im afriad. Im glad you have a supportive boyfriend.

Right Ive forgotten everything else, I hope everyones having a good day

    Hi all...

sharon so glad that you had a good time and got the benefit from the wheelchair :) It can make such a difference to have that option available can't it?

kass rather you than me having 4 kids to entertain for 7 weeks! ;) Hope your sons feel better soon :)

saucy I know what you mean about struggling with what you want vs what the doctor recommends. When I first became really ill I was in a job that was, for the first time in my life, paying me enough to have a life(!) and had a good social life and was doing a night class in Health and Safety (which I'd paid £800 for). The doc kept signing me off sick from work, and I lost my job in the end. He told me that he didn't think I should continue with the night class - especially as it took me out of the house at night in inclement weather (esp through autumn/winter) and it meant mixing with a group of people who more than likely would have various bugs etc that would drag my system down further. It's something for you to think about with going to uni I think - if you're constantly mixing with a lot of students who are invariably going to have viruses etc you're going to catch more things than you would ordinarily...and ordinarily (at the moment) you have more support than you will living away at uni (from bf etc). Think about how you will/would/could cope if you were to fall ill frequently while living away... In the end I had to ditch the course, and to be honest I haven't lost anything substantial in not completing it because I think if I were to manage going back to work, at some point in the future, I wouldn't be able to do the types of jobs I was doing the course for anyway. Frustrating, but sometimes we have to make choices that we don't really want to have to take in order for self-preservation.:o
Also, as for the car, the mobility rules are basically that the car would only be used by you or directly for you. I'm not saying that you would get "found out" or that he wouldn't be using the car for you, but I just thought I'd mention it cos I would hate for you to get in trouble, esp with the car residing 2hrs away from where you would be, iyswim? My dad is entitled, for instance, to free tax discs due to mobility, but he won't claim for it because my mum also drives that car sometimes and he doesn't want to take the risk. I don't want to scaremonger, but it's worth consideration.
As for the different uni closer to home, I have to say that apart from the obvious advantages of facilities there's usually not that much in it between different uni's/colleges. I went to a uni that had all the propoganda of a great university and I can't say that I found it that fantastic, and I wasn't the only one. They'll all have their pros and cons, but in the end you have to decide what's best for you and your health. If you look after those then you'll be more successful in your endeavors anyway, be it at uni or work or wedding planning! ;)

paparika my motivation generally comes from wanting to be better for my fianc!. :o And in "better" I don't necessarily mean health wise (although "pacing" and "managing" my conditions obviously have a part in that), but in trying to just keep things ticking over for him at home so that he doesn't have to do quite so much between his 2 jobs and being a carer for his mum. I think with conditions like ours it's really difficult to work out sometimes where the line lies between not having motivation because we're knackered and should rest and not having motivation because we're struggling to get going again after a period of rest/low spirits/depression. It's something I struggle with too.

trialia I'm made up for you about the award you're getting! Now if only they'd do the same for me...

suep I'm so glad your dad is coming/has come home and they've got it under control :)

cwta you ok? You've been a bit quiet... hope you're busy rather than anything else :)

I emailed my sister and spelled out to her when we couldn't/could potentially go. I'm steering her towards the end of October ;)

Now...back to wedding planning world :p

Are you a member of FINE? I am but never go to the meetings as I live too far away. The info they send out is really useful. I share it at our group in Carlisle. I am not a Mackem but went to school there.

Hi Poohbear - sorry I have never heard of FINE, so I'll go off and Google it. Which school did you used to go to - and when?

Did you see our Olympic medallist Tony Jeffries won his boxing match last night? DS was there and it was a first round KO - excellent stuff!:T:T:T
!!!!!! a teen sleeping with her mother when her father is away is inappropriate? for crying out loud is all i can say about that.

My sentiments exactly PCL - when my DH first worked away, DS who was then nine, used to come into my bed where we would read together and often just fall asleep. It helped both of us to have someone close. I really worry about the minds of those who would read more into it - you have to wonder about them!
I have the balance problem too and the slow walking. Last summer remember having to ask Dad to slow down when I was walking with him - he's 85!! :rotfl:

I'm not Cornish - I was born in County Durham and am of Irish and Mancunian descent. I just sound, well, normal :D
Moved about so much in my life that I don't know where I'm from really and don't have an accent.

I'm in classic avoidance mode this morning - playing Spider Solitaire, reading a book and generally faffing about so I don't actually have to do anything.
Giveus a kick up the arris someone?

Thinking back, I'm sure you once mentioned about County Durham - it may even have been in 'Fibromyalgia Part 1' or was that 'Fibromyalgia meets the Werewolf?' :rotfl:.

My aunt moved to London when she was in her early 20's - yet even at eighty odd before she died, we could still hear the Mackem accent and she had only returned very infrequently for family visits.

Well, I got an appointment in the post this morning, to see a neurologist next Wednesday - only it's not the one I picked via 'Choose and Book' so I don't really know what to do. I don't know of anyone who has had any dealings with neuros at the local hospital and I usually like to have some idea of what their speciality is, having seen some real [STRIKE]dingbats[/STRIKE] treasures in the past. I'm sure you know the type - heads so far up their own rear end that they've forgotten what daylight looks like :p.

Having said that, the current crisis is running true to form - incredible weakness, loss of balance and sleepiness has given way to feeling like I've been scalded down my left side - can't bear to touch my face at all it's so ouchy . There's another new word for how these symptoms feel ;).

Enjoy the rest of your weekend - weather here is beautiful, sunny all day, if a tad cold. I knew it wasn't going to rain (despite the forecast) since my big toe joint isn't stiff or aching :p.

In the Republic they break up at the end of May  TWELVE WEEKS they have!!!!! I used to hate it, probably the only thing I did hate about living there!

I meant to reply to something else but can't remember.

I'm in a foul mood now. Just had an argument with DD1. I can't bear how horrible she is at times

Just a quick post, Mr LW is itching to go to the pub.

Paparika Motivation? Whassat? When you find an answer, please tell me, as it's something I struggle with big time.

Btw, I used to have a really awful pain in the bum - til I divorced him.:D:D (Sorry, couldn't resist that one).

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend; off to post the two (count 'em, TWO) crossword competitions I've completed today.

cwta half way through your sisters visit, hope your router holds out until you get another one sorted, might be worth trying a wanted on freecycle.
  • Hi
Managed to get Router going again, but who knows for how long.
Thanks pcl - I got rid of my last router on freecycle, I should have kept hold of it!
Can I just say that Sky BB is carp! I'm gonna go back to Virgin asap.
Went to a gardens yesterday after a lovely pub lunch - got absolutely soaked, but enjoyed it all the same and then dinner out at fave Thai Restaurant as the "Official" celebration for Dad's 85 b'day - we go there so often that the staff got Dad a B'day card which I thought was lovely. He was really touched.

Hugs to you all - missing chatting to you and catching up on all your news, but hope to get back online again tonight.
