Morning all
kass I got the bath handle from QS. If there isn't one near you, I can easily pick one up and post it to you? Hope your friend's Mum is OK - bet she's sore this morning.
Before my Nephew went into a residential home (he's quite severely Autistic) he used to jump into bed with me in the morning when I stayed there - I loved it. We had to discourage it as he got older as it's not really appropriate behaviour; shame as I missed the morning cuddles.
pcl Hope your puddy tat is OK - really worrying isn't it. I like the idea of random cats feeling welcome in your home *g*
Lita hates other cats so much and is so territorial that a fight always ensues if another moggy comes close.
sharon Very sensible to use a wheelchair - I'm sure you will enjoy the day more being more comfortable and not tiring yourself out so much. I love Zoos. If you ever come down to Bristol Zoo again, let me know if you want to meet up there? It's about a 3 hour drive for me, but I would love to meet with you if you feel like it. Oh, and there's an IKEA in Bristol *g*
Sue Many congrats to your Daughter! And an ickle baby girl too! Good news rolling in which is nice. How's your Dad doing?
It's on my (long) to do list to set up the DVD recorder, so I'll try to do it this weekend in plenty of time.
Unity I hope the Penine Way is sunny for you and that you beat the Minute Mile *g*
I love fresh air and walking in nature.
And do you have any idea why I picture you talking in a Scottish accent?? What's that all about??!I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

Ha ha - they will be leaving here on Tuesday morning and I will be waving them off. I went for a short walk last week when I was feeling more or less okay with DS who as you'll remember is having his cruciate ligament rebuilt in September. I had to keep asking him to slow down as I couldn't keep up. Just at present though my balance has gone again - it always happens when I get this sudden attack (more so than usual) of weakness and it looks when I am walking as if I am !!!!!! as a f@rt :rotfl:so even walking Samson on his lead in the back garden is fraught with problems.
If you email me your number sometime I'll give you a call as I have no idea at all why you'd think I was Scottish . You probably wouldn't be able to distinguish my accent from that of a Geordie - think Ant and Dec or Jimmy Nail - although in truth I am what is known as a Mackem and if you lived here you would soon be able to tell the difference. Main tell tale clues are that we say 'Our' whilst they say 'Whor', they say 'Divvent' whilst we say 'Don't'. Of course if you travel about six miles west of here to Hetton-le-Hole, the language is unintelligable 'Pitmatic' where some of them still speak of 'Thee' and 'Thou' and sound rather mediaeval .
Are you actually Cornish btw? I have no idea what you sound like at all.
Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

I have the balance problem too and the slow walking. Last summer remember having to ask Dad to slow down when I was walking with him - he's 85!! :rotfl:
I'm not Cornish - I was born in County Durham and am of Irish and Mancunian descent. I just sound, well, normal
Moved about so much in my life that I don't know where I'm from really and don't have an accent.
I'm in classic avoidance mode this morning - playing Spider Solitaire, reading a book and generally faffing about so I don't actually have to do anything.
Giveus a kick up the arris someone?I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
*Obligingly kicks Auntie Axe's arris*:D
Afternoon all. OK, looks like there's a lot to reply to - if I miss something, please forgive me.
Sharon I had mixed feelings about starting to use a wheelchair, too. But you soon get used to it, honestly. We call mine the Wolf Mobile, and it makes life soooo much easier. Enjoy your zoo visit - hope the weather is good for you.
Pcl big gentle hugs to poor Whitney.
Kass and Suep yep, I'm another one who's had her "little operation". LOL I have to admit, when I moved in with Mr LW I found it really weird sharing a bed with someone; I'd slept on my own for such a long time. As long as the person (or cat!!) you're sharing with isn't a duvet thief..... LOL
Kass I hope your friend's mum is OK.
Suep congratulations to DD on passing her exam.:j
BZ Is your niece any better today?
Unity I'm not sure where you are - but the weather forecast for Concrete Cow Country says WET over the weekend, lighter rain Monday and Tuesday, and then drying up after that.
I have a busy weekend ahead by the looks of it - have to go in search of some jeans (I must be just about the only person in the country who doesn't own any) and a bedsheet as one of ours is nearly worn out. Plus the usual frenetic housework-type activity, and a marathon baking session on Sunday. Anyone got any spare spoons I can have?:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I can't give you any spoons I'm afraid LW, but I'm mighty impressed that you've managed to wear the bedsheet out. Too much action?

k they got the bloods with out having to sedate her. couple of minor abnormalities but main thing is its not her kidneys and the minor things are not bad enough to be a problem. i can go get her at 4:30. feeling much more relieved now, and so glad its not her kidneys going. thanks everyone
kass im almost scared to try the vacuum, its got a really powerful suck and i dont fancy loosing keys into it. though crumbs seem to have moved now i am not having to fo back and add spaces anymore. ill find another letter later thats not working properly instead im sure. i did have a mini vacuum supposedly for computers but it was worse than useless.
unity charlain harris are deffinitly better than kelly armstrong, enjoy them. yes indeed my cats can tell when im not well, the get a lot more affectionate and cuddly then. they can tell when my mood is going better than most people can.
sue nothing at all wrong with having a 3 page wishlist, im sure mine is that long or longer too....i go on a spate of adding to it every now and again. congrats to your daughter. and yay about the baby.
what makes it worse with whitney is that she hit the age my previous cat died at 14 years ago, so ive been waiting for her to get ill since then. my sister says she is too stubborn to give in to old age. im going to be such a mess when it actually happens, but i still couldnt not have pets.
kass how was the hospital?
cwta whitney used to bring other cats home, its half the reason why i got her a companion. she didnt even realise there was another cat in the bedroom, too deaf to hear it and had her back turned so didnt see, she was too slow at coming down the stairs. im still not sure if it had chased chloe under the bed or had just comme in off its own bat. chloe didnt answer me and i couldnt feel her at the edges of the drawers under there. she does not tolerate other cats and when the one up the road would be let in the front door (because it was icy and complained at my door about being cold) chloe protested.
lw i found a carrier bag with lots of plastic spoons in...they any use to you? fit some rest in around the busy if you can.
bz you ok? hows your niece now and mil2b?0 -
Pcl I'll take whatever spoons I can get!! Ironically, I collect fancy spoons - one of my favourites has a wizard on the handle.
I'm glad Whitney's going to be OK. I bet she'll be glad to get home - and have some dins!If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

.
Are you a member of FINE? I am but never go to the meetings as I live too far away. The info they send out is really useful. I share it at our group in Carlisle. I am not a Mackem but went to school there.
sharon I use a wheel chair when I am away from home, eg Metro Centre. It makes it easier for family/friends to get around too. It is too hilly to use one here.
kass what a shock for you. I hope she is okaybusiness mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I haven't a clue how to recap and addin my thoughts on what you lot have been gasbagging about
so I shall just tell you that my niece is back home now and no longer on morphine, so should be on the mend now
The laparoscopy did confirm the endometriosis, so hopefully the coil should help with that
I jsut remembered the cwta asked about mil2b getting social worker stuff sorted...she's got meals on wheels now (she moans about the meal choices of course!) and they're investigating her getting the higher rate of DLA and Direct Payments? They should be getting her a shower stool (although we obviously have to wait an age for the OT to come round:rolleyes:) and a perching stool for in the kitchen... hopefully it'll all get sorted and she'll be much better provided for.
Can't remember anything else other than: have a good time at the zoo sharon, well done to suep's DD, glad pcl's puddy tat is ok, and that the hospital goes ok kass. to everyone else"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0
