Oh snoozer, isn't it a pain when that happens!! I've come very close to throwing the comp at the wall a few times as it happens faaaaarrr to regularly with me. Can't help you on your strange symptom though I'm afraid. Tis very unusual I would say.

Well I've been sat patiently (yes, I did say patiently!) waiting for my Virgin self start pack to arrive. I thought I would double check - not that I don't trust these companies *g* - and rang them to find they have booked it for an engineer visit for next Friday!!! There was me sat with me five channels and fleeting internet connection, all excited to have broadband and 500 channels of sh!te and they've completely crushed my little excited face

Did I tell you about my car tax drama? Can't remember and can't be @rsed going back to check.

How is everybody this morning? All thinking about sharon no doubt.

Sharon - I have my fingers crossed for your appointment today and hope it goes well for you.

LW - I'm so sorry to hear about Mr LW's colleague - that is no age at all is it? Did she have children?

Kass - I agree with what others have said in that I would wait and see if it happens again. When I was two we moved to a new home that was seriously creepy. Over the years we had slow dragging footsteps on the stairs, lights being switched on and off etc.etc. The previous tenant had been a man and his two sons, his wife had died from leukaemia there. As I got older I sort of came to the conclusion that she was looking for her children, but up until I was about 18 I was still scared to sleep in the dark there. Depending on your beliefs (and of course depending on if it happens again) - it could just be down to a hypnogogic state and may pass once you are properly settled in - you could indeed try smudging to dispel any negativity or getting someone in to bless the house. Any religious body Christian, Pagan or otherwise will be able to help.

I'll probably not be around much as I'm not well at present - but we all know how it is. I'm afraid the wheelchair will have to come out for an airing as I just can't stand up at present :( due to the overwhelming weakness that the doc insists is more MS like than anything. I would put it down to the stress I had with the Halifax yesterday (thanks to Suep:T for letting me get that off my chest) but I was feeling ill for a couple of days before that.

Anyway I got the boxed set of Charlaine Harris books from the States yesterday so I have plenty to keep me occupied.

    Hi everyone,

Wrote a long post last night and then the site logged me off and I lost it grr.

Did not sleep well last night - after a good day I had very dsore hands and legs.

I also had a recurrence of probably my strangest symptom, I'd be grateful if anyone here has heard of anything like it because I've had all sorts of eye tests and brian scans and nothing has shown up. It happens at night, after I've been reading (which I do every night before going to sleep so it's nothing to do with that). I switch off the light and it's not completely dark so I can see the furniture shapes and shadows, except that my right eye can't see anything, it's as if a blackout curtain has been pulled across it and then gradually over a few minutes it lightens and I can see the same things as my left eye. It doesn't happen all the time (it's months since it last happened) but when it does it happens every night for a while. I'm a bit worried because it's usually a sign of things getting worse.

If any of you know what this is, or even have the same I'd be grateful.

Enough of me - I hope today goes well for everyone on here, see you soon.

A quick tip for when the site logs you out and you end up at the log-in page again. Just re-enter your username and password then click 'log-in'. You should end up with a blank page with a 'Done' in the bottom left corner. Hit the back button a couple of times and eventually you will see the blue box with your reply in it. Just click 'Submit Reply' and you're sorted.

Ooh actually i got that wrong.........the site doesn't log me off, I just lose the connection all the time then lose my posts.

Thanks Unity, I've got a smudge stick in the car that I bought last week and just haven't got round to doing it yet. I should do it today really while the house is still relatively clutter free. You get your feet up love and get lost in your new books.

I've been very teary the last few days. Haven't a clue why!!!

    Afternoon folks.

I'm shattered today, so please forgive me if I get a bit incoherent.

Saucy with friends like that, who needs enemies?? It comes as a big let-down when it's someone you thought you were close to, I guess. Anyway, I hope you managed to have some birthday enjoyment.:o

Pcl sorry to hear about your friend's cat.:(

Unity thanks for your kind words - Mr LW's ex-colleague, Sammy, didn't have any kids. Reading between the lines on what was said between Mr LW and the chap at work who told him (on Instant Messenger) I think it was the sickle-cell that finally got her. We lit a candle for her last night, it's something I do when we lose a friend. I've had to do it far too often lately.:(

Kass I was going to reply re your weird experience, but Unity beat me to it.:o

So many friends here seem to be hurting or feeling more carp than usual - I hope you all get some respite from the suffering soon. It really is annoying when you want to get on with life, but feel too bleurgh to do anything.

Not feeling too good myself just now, so will stop and lie down for a bit..... back later.

im coming tiot he conclusion there is something in the air or the weather is affecting everyone. quite a few of my other friends are also feeling incredibly carp lately, its too much of a coinkydink that its so widespread.....especially to people who normally perk way up in the summer due to there actually being sun occasionally.

i have missed a few things in here recently so to everyone i appear to be ignoring, sorry its just that i havent taken in stuff or cant manage to formulate a reply to you so im just not saying anything....please dont be upset or offended or think your being ignored.

Hi all, Im exhausted, ds1 and g/s came round this morning, the terrible 2's have definitly struck now ;)
I've had to make a drs app for this afternoon as yesterday when I had my breakfast I got the most disgusting taste in my mouth, it's still there now and gets worse when I eat, it's making me feel sick and I cant taste any food. DH had it a few years ago and it was something to do with his stomach acid, I've tried some antacids from the chemist but they havn't worked so must need something stronger.

cwta/unity Im desperate to see that series, but we havn't got sky anymore as now the kids have left home (apart from dd but shes never in) we dont watch much tv. Unity can you send me the link again please, I'll try it again as I had problems with it last time but might have been my laptop. I've got all the books on my wishlist on Amazon and the dvd box set is out in a few months so if I cant watch it I'll buy that.

DIL has her 2nd scan this afternoon, so we should know what sex the baby is soon if it hasnt got it's back to the camera like g/s did.

Aaaaww suep, that will be nice and something to look forward to :D The taste thing is quite strange. The only time I've had funny tastes going on is when I've been pregnant..........any chance ;)

I know what you mean about everybody seeming to be worse/have worse things going on atm. That's what I was on about the other day and I didn't really know what to say to everyone :o

I've been/felt the same pcl and felt a bit guilty about it but I'm sure we all understand each other and don't take it personally.

I'm so upset. I've been in pain since last night, but it was my birthday (19 now!) and so I just ignored it. Started bleeding quite heavily after weeing, but didn't worry too much. Had the doctors at ten past four, he thinks my kidneys are very infective and at risk of failing. He's given me 3 days antibiotics and I have to go to hospital for scans then.

Got home to hear that someone I thought I was close too doesnt think I'm ill. I don't mope, and I don't tend to talk about myself, but its undebatable that I am ill. I have a metal spine, my organs fail all the time, and I have ME and arthritis...I'm just really upset. I think a few people might agree, and I don't know what to do. I can't start moping, I have to keep going regardless...

I don't want to start crying because I don't think I could stop.
    Firstly, HaPpY bIrThDaY!! :bdaycake::dance:

Secondly, as the rest of the gang have been saying, the last thing you need is people around you that aren't giving you positivity. I know it's not the same thing, but it seems that the closer we get to our wedding, the more me and DF are beginning to realise who are the friends that are willing to put themselves out for you and who really aren't. The difference between that and what you thought can be really upsetting. :o I would say that you have more medical problems than me (altho we all know it isn't a competition ;)) - or at least more sort of recognised...so if you're having anywhere near the issues I had with disbelievers then I feel sorry for you. All I can say is what I did, which was come to the conclusion that any emotional stress took it's toll on my body, which I couldn't afford. I decided that I would try and educate everyone (of close friends and family) and then they couldn't be/plead ignorance. If they couldn't be bothered to read/listen then that told me where they stood. If they had questions then I answered them. If they were still negative and causing me emotional stress with unreasonableness then they got ditched/shelved til they "got it". Something like the Spoons Theory can gelp get your point across when you don't know how to explain what's going on.

It's not just you. I get it too. I don't know about it being a sign of things getting worse, and i'm not saying it's something I have all the time, but I do know what you mean. :) If you're that worried about it tho, you should ask a medical bod. I always put it down to blood pressure, or the muscles in my eyes being tired, or the way I was lying/pressure on my eyes or something. I think it's worse when my sinuses are worse.

Dare I say it could be cos you're moving and that's a very stressful thing? ;) Plus you're setting up on your own and that's always scary, no matter how old you are or how many times you've done it.*nods*
