sue cwta is right in what she says re the standard precautions and many people who ahve been in hopsital get it. the news reporting over it being a superbug etc blew it all out of proportion and scaremongered in my opinion, thus its immediate panic when you hear someone you know has it. it is treatable and it is really really common. hope the appointment and lunch went ok today and you ahve a good rest this afternoon.
bz youve thought of everything, i like the camera/picture trail idea. hope niece is feeling better today, and mil2b is ok too. did you manage to sleep?
tria sorry our having doctor problems, i was just wondering about where you where the last few days so thanks for popping in. hope you feel less tired and weak soon.
morning to everyone else.
i had a lovely long chat with one of my childhood best friends last night, then it took me a couple hours to get to sleep. poor whitney was going all out to try and get me to get up and feed her this morning, im surprised i dont ahve teeth or claw marks on my eyebrows. i was mean and just kept moving out of her way though, poor girl has got used to not having to pester me in a morning.0 -
Morning all
Snoozer... go back and see a different GP, I changed the one I see at my practise and its made the world of difference to me. Its got to be worth a try.
Everyone else, sorry its been a few days (ran out of spoons) but big hugs to you all. :kisses:I used to be me !! what happened0 -
afternoon all -would say to anyone go see different GP if not satisfied -you dont have to accept carp care!think we often feel so tired and ill that we havent the strength to fight or challenge a diagnosis. Its time to save a few spoons and go for it!
I am keeping busy-trying to forget results appt tomorrow -really scared as covinced things are worsening very fast-especially my shortness of breath and worry that the prognosis will be months not years.
Been trying to thread bobbin on new sewing machine but its not working and l cant see what lm doing wrong so its driving me mad-left it for a while and when l go back it had better work or will chuck it out of the window!!!!:j this money saving is such fun:T0 -

Thanks for the welcome everyone - I will pluck up courage to go back to the Gp........sometime....I'm sure.
Anyway I feel good today, minimal dizziness and feeling quite energetic, it's on days like this thta I think that I'm going into a spell of remission and isn't it miserable when it doesn't happen.
Suep my dad has just come out of hospital after 10 weeks (for a 2 week op), he had a lot of problems caused by lack of care in one ward and had to go into Intensive care at deaths door literally. He got MRSA but they only really worry if it is in the bloodstream, they swab the nose and find it but its easily treated. Best wishes for your dad - mine is still nowhere near well but hopefully things are getting better now.
I think that's one reason I've had such a bad patch over the last few weeks - the stress of worrying and travelling 200 miles each way every week to visit him and mum.0 -
I think you've thought of everything BZ, the busy bags sound a great idea.
...BZ just remembered I hope MIL2b and your niece are both ok.) as she felt the risks outweighed the benefits. I can see where she's coming from, and I think it matters (in her decision making process) that the wedding is so close. I did have stern words about her looking after herself much more vigilantly though and she's promised she will, so we can but wait. My niece seems to be still on morphine. Not sure if she's still in hospital... waiting to hear back. It would seem that while they were at the hospital, though, that the dog (4month old puppy) has been chewing at things...including swallowing a screw(??) and they're now down at the vets!

I think the photo comp is a great idea. Do you have anything like a Costco near youwhere you could buy the cameras cheaper in bulk?I have thought about going to Costco or something for the cameras but I think I'll only need, say, 10, and it might be easier/cheaper to try a pound shop first...? If any of you guys spot any though I'd be glad to hear of it

I've been managing to get to sleep about 1.30am quite consistantly, which makes a nice change. I've been up earlier too, but I think too early in some instances as I have a sneaking suspicion I may have a throat infection on it's way. Either that or it was just playing up this morning. You know when the docs ask you what colour your phlegm is? Is it green for infection and clear for non-infection?
Sharon try not to worry too much. I know it's much easier said than done. We're all thinking of you and wishing you well tho. Hope you get the sewing machine sorted!
Gonna try a quick nap now before I go pick DF up from work, then we're out tonight. So  to everyone else..."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Sharon
Will be thinking of you tomo, I hope it goes as well as it can. Like you I am waiting for an outcome, but I haven't had my appointment letter through yet. I had 2 stents done inside my heart, 1st time my consultant has tried this, now waiting to see if it will work long term. If it doesn't I have 5 years at best without a Heart transplant.
Best thing to do with sewing machine is walk away for bit, I have one hidden understairs as it get so wound up threading I end up not using it.
Bigzippy... I don't know how you do it. I have trouble keeping up with what I am doing now let alone all you are focusing on.I used to be me !! what happened0 -
Hi folks - this'll be a swift post as Mr LW has just finished work for the day (working from home on early shift) and requires my attention (don't ask!!:D:D)More anecdotal - nortriptyline made me hallucinate giant hamster-bugs with claws.
I'm having some doctor problems... but i'm too damn tired and weak at the moment to elaborate or catch up completely with the thread. will do later, sorry.Just had a call from my sister, Dads got MRSA. Sorry cant get my head around much else at the moment, but welcome snoozer.I am keeping busy-trying to forget results appt tomorrow -really scared as covinced things are worsening very fast-especially my shortness of breath and worry that the prognosis will be months not years.
BZ I hope your niece goes on ok, too.
Had some bad news this morning - a former colleague of Mr LW's has died; she was only 39. I'm gutted - although I didn't know her well, she was a nice woman, and I'd exchanged emails with her on several occasions.
GP has mucked me about - they phoned and said that the doctor on duty on 18th won't be the one I wanted to see, but a male doctor. So I said they could jolly well change it so that I see the lady doctor, and it'd have to be at a time when Mr LW is around as I have no transport otherwise. Going at 17:00 on 17th, instead now.
Hope all that made sense - I hate rushing, but sometimes it's that or not post at all!:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
veggy, I suspect bz is so over the moon and in luuurve, that it's incentive to keep the wedding of the century as near perfection as possible
Good luck with your results too.
bz Have you had any joy with SS or any home care package for MIL2B yet? I hope something can be worked out as it will take such a weight off your and DF's shoulders. BTW, with you not liking the thought of anyone fiddling down there, 16, pregnant or not, I do hope your Mum has had a birds and bees talk with you for after the wedding :rotfl:
Sorry - I couldn't resist it
snoozer, we are totally capable of nagging you about making a GP appointment - you're one of use now
Trust me, I'm an Auntie Axe
I am in love. With my electric screwdriver
I just put together a bookcase with the minimum of fuss with it. I'll have to get an electric drill next as I only have one of those hand-turning jobbies :eek:I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0
