I just put together a bookcase with the minimum of fuss with it. I'll have to get an electric drill next as I only have one of those hand-turning jobbies
Ohh scarey  , when yo get a power drill if you can afford a variable speed jobby, you can use it as a screwdriver too :TI used to be me !! what happened0 -
Hi snoozer, hope you've made your self at home here.
Sorry to hear about your dad suep and MIL2B and Neice bz. Lets hope everything works out well.
It's nice to see you posting more often sharon.
lw and pcl. It's terrible that you had to go through that as a child. It makes me cry just thinking of children going through that sort of thing. I did but not by a member of family and was more a teenager than child. I just can't imagine someone I trusted doing those things to me and as a child too, it's just truly awful and you're right, it quite possibly does explain a few things.
I'm shattered atm. I'm getting there with the move. I'm in the new house now but half my stuff is still in the old one. I'm sure I'll get there eventually.
There was more I was going to reply to but it's been so long since I got on that it's taken ages to catch up and can't keep all the info in my brain for that long!!0 -
I'm so upset. I've been in pain since last night, but it was my birthday (19 now!) and so I just ignored it. Started bleeding quite heavily after weeing, but didn't worry too much. Had the doctors at ten past four, he thinks my kidneys are very infective and at risk of failing. He's given me 3 days antibiotics and I have to go to hospital for scans then.
Got home to hear that someone I thought I was close too doesnt think I'm ill. I don't mope, and I don't tend to talk about myself, but its undebatable that I am ill. I have a metal spine, my organs fail all the time, and I have ME and arthritis...I'm just really upset. I think a few people might agree, and I don't know what to do. I can't start moping, I have to keep going regardless...
I don't want to start crying because I don't think I could stop.Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -

Just popped in to reply to this one as I hate to see anyone this upset.
The thing I can say as one of the errr more mature members of this forum :p is that one thing fibro and M.E. guarantee is that you will develop a thick skin over time. It's simply impossible not to. Unfortunately there are always those out there who have such limited little lives that they spend valuable time criticising others for one reason or another and one of these reasons is illness. I don't know whether they are the superhuman types that never have anything wrong - or whether they feel the attention given to you, should really be given to them - who knows
? Best thing to do - in fact the only thing to do is rise above it - you have enough to put up with, without worrying about what others think. I know it is upsetting when you think it is someone close to you - but the other thing that fibro and M.E. does - is to show you who your real friends are
. Once you know, then you can weed out the b@rstewards who obviously aren't your friends and save the time you would have wasted on them :T.

^^ Wot she said *g*
Even my Sister, when I dismissed some expensive new fangled remedy she had heard about said "Don't you want to get well?"
I'm afraid it happens with physical problems where there isn't "in your face" evidence of it. Lots of hugs to you and belated Happy Birthday.
Unity Have you seen there's a series called True Blood starting on FX (Sky Channel) soon? If you don't have Sky, do you want me to pop it onto a DVD for you?I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Thanks to everyone for the support and advice. Ive spoken to Dad today and it's under 1 arm ! and can be treated, I cant remember who said it now, maybe pcl , but you are right that the press have scared us al silly with horror stories about MRSA. He asked if DD could give his hair a trim when she goes in to see him after work tomorrow, so he must be feeling a bit brighter if he's worrying about his hair.
Sharon I will be thinking of you tomorrow
snoozer I hope your dad makes a recovery soon.
saucysectrets Ouch, that sounds nasty and very painful, I hope it clears up soon with no problems. As for your so called friend, Unity is right, you certainly find out who your friends are when you have any chronic illness. You know the truth and to be honest you dont need someone like that in your life.
The Rhuemi was a complete waste of time, I told him my GP didnt want to help much with the nerve pain as I had an app with him, but that he felt I needed a scan as Ive never had one, he just wrote everything down and didnt reply at all ! After listening to me he said come back in 6 months and that was it
I dont know why Im even surprised. I think Im better off just seeing my gp in future, at least he tries to help.Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

Hi CWTA this is the series I have been banging on about . It is brilliantand I have FX as part of my package with Virgin - but thanks for asking :T.
I watched all of the first series online and have started watching the second series the same way - but at least seeing it on proper HDTV will mean DH can watch it too. It is one of those series that stands watching a second time. It is really surprising as it's set in the 'Deep South' yet the main characters aren't even American and more to the point the Americans don't believe that these actors aren't native . Stephen Moyer who playes the delectable vampire Bill Compton, is an English actor who appeared in another British vampire series 'Ultraviolet' shown in the late 90's and the actor who plays Jason Stackhouse is actually Australian. Honestly their accents are as good as (American) James Marsters when he played (English) Spike in Buffy. I didn't recognise the girl who plays Sookie at first as she's blonde - but it's Anna Paquin who played Rogue in the X-Men movies. A real find is Alex Skarsgaard (son of Stellen - the Swede in Mama Mia) who plays Eric. He was voted sexiest man in Sweden and can be seen in the latest Lady Gaga video.
I also had a book delivery from the States today :T - the complete series of Charlaine Harris books on which the True Blood series is based :j.
I have waffled on enough haven't I?:oSome people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

Unity I thought it might have been the one, but I couldn't find your post to confirm it. I'm looking forward to it! And I like your waffling *g*
Since we have similar taste in books and TV, I learn sommat!
Spike *drool* Now there's my fantasy man *g*
I've resisted HDTV so far which is quite unlike me as I lurve gadgets - do you think it's worth it?
Won't be hearing from you for a while if you've got your books then *g*I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

We also resisted HDTV until we switched to Virgin and it came with Virgin+HD, so we thought "Why not?" It does make a big difference to the picture quality. DH is very money saving, so we got a really good deal on a Toshiba HDTV as recommended by a friend who works for a TV repair company as one that goes wrong least.
I also loved Spike - in fact I saved the second Torchwood series episodes that he appeared in - that's sad init?I think that True Blood will be a hit over here because it is much more 'grown-up'
than some of the other paranormal series. In fact think of it as soft !!!!!! with fangs
.
