Oh, flippin' 'eck, BZ just what the poor woman needs - she's stressed out as it is, and now they're messing her about. *throws up hands in exasperation at NHS*
Paws crossed for your niece - that can't be fun, and only 16 yrs old as well."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Thanks LW - apart from the dizziness this weeks not been too bad, I've not been tired to the point where i've nodded off over the puter, something which has happened to me a number of occasions - good job I've got an office to myself.
I might pluck up the courage to go back to the docs I just hate feeling that they are looking at me and thinking "what a hypochondriac" as well as the underactive thyroid I have a hiatus hernia, high blood pressure and migraines so I can't help but think I can't go in saying that I think I may have something else wrong with me.
I'm sorry to seem so self pitying when so many of you are far worse off than me and on the upside I don't tend to get sick with things like colds or flu or sickness bugs - with me it tends to be something a little bit out of the ordinary and I can't help wondering if they are linked to the same illness.
Anyway, I hope to get to know you all more and get on with things as best I can.0 -
Hi Paparika, unfortunately nightmares are a side-effect of Amitrip  - I was on them for quite sometime from the rheumatologist, so I only found out when the neurologist who was investigating my sleep disorder asked what meds I was on. Some people have told me that Nortriptyline is better (less side effects) but it's more expensive. That's anecdotal rather than medical advice of course
.
More anecdotal - nortriptyline made me hallucinate giant hamster-bugs with claws.
I'm having some doctor problems... but i'm too damn tired and weak at the moment to elaborate or catch up completely with the thread. will do later, sorry.Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
Just had a call from my sister, Dads got MRSA. Sorry cant get my head around much else at the moment, but welcome snoozer.Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

sue First off - don't panic. I've spoken to my GP in the past and pretty much anyone who is in hospital is likely to get MRSA, particularly when their immune system is depressed. I'm not saying that it's not something to be concerned about, just not something to panic about.
Big, big hugs to you and I'm around this week if you want to speak.
I've been busy with my green fingers today and got potted up some mimosa, bamboo and other bits and pieces that I stole cuttings from. It's just so satisfying.
Evil sister is coming down on Friday and staying until Tuesday, but is bringing her new squeeze, so he should keep he occupied and out of mischief hopefully. *g*I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Gutted suep but at least they know what it is now! Hope they jump all over his treatment and he feels a helluva lot better soon.
I'm not saying much cos I'm a bit worried about niece, who's not come round well from the op (was still in pain despite morphine and they're keeping her in tonight), and a bit concerned about mil2b tomorrow I guess, and I've got horrid nerve pains in knuckles and collarbones and shoulder and stuff. I dunno whether to take the tramadol, cos then I'm thinking the itches'll kick in either just as I'm going to bed, or just as I've gotten to sleep....? But then I won't be able to sleep with these pains anyway...?"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
bz Sorry - I did type a post earlier, but got logged off - hope your MIL2B gets sorted out soon, poor love. Horrid for you and DF too.
Poor niece too - so young to have something like that going on - hope she recovers OK and is feeling better tomorrow.
I would take the Tramadol and give it a go?
snoozer We've all had times when we feel that we are being self-pitying, but we aren't being! We wouldn't be here if we were well?! Is there another doc in the practice that you can see maybe? And I'm sure if you explain your worry that you are bothering them, they will put your mind at rest. They would much rather you went to see them than suffer in silence? Anyway - welcome to the board - hope you stick around.
Sorry if I've missed someone/something - finding it difficult to concentrate and keep more than one thing in my brain at the moment.
Sleep peacefully everyone.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Ta cwta, I've taken some diclofenac and I think I'll wait til I go to bed to have the Tramadol and then hopefully I can get some sleep and hopefully I'll be too asleep to care about itches...yeah right!
I've just ordered some stuff for kids' goody bags for the wedding day - they're called "busy bags" apparently  - which I'm aiming to get in at £1 or less per child. Going well so far with mini puzzle/colouring books, pop-in crayons, non-gender-specific purple paper bags (which I might personalise with each kids name, or they can personalise them themselves), and ordered 150 mini rolls of lovehearts (which worked out incl p&p at only 8p a roll) which will be personalised by me and designer friend for both the goody bags and the tables (as, the dreaded word, "favours"
). So far I'm at 77.5p a bag. I think I've got some balloons somewhere, so I'll put a couple of em in each bag, and I'm hoping to get some sheets of stickers cheaply (any tips greatfully received) and then we'll give the kids bottles of bubbles/little bubble machines after the ceremony (to have instead of confetti), which they'll still have at the reception. We're thinking we might also do a disposable camera "camera challenge" - like give them instructions on what shots to take like "take a photo of the oldest member of your family dancing" or whatever, so it'll be like a bit of a treasure hunt type thing. Whaddya think?
"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
I think you've thought of everything BZ, the busy bags sound a great idea.
Ive spoken to Dad this morning and apparently it is treatable, I wish Id know that last night when I was lying awake worrying.
Ive got a Rheumi app at 10.30 so must get off in a min, then Im going to see my friends at the fibro lunch group , so will be back for a rest this afternoon.
Hope everyones having a good day.
BZ just remembered I hope MIL2b and your niece are both ok.Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

sue Good luck with the Rheumy - may be worthwhile telling him what you're going through at the moment as with stress, you hold your muscles much more tense and get more pain through that.
Hugs to you and your Dad - don't get scared, but when you visit him, you'll have to wear gloves and apron and barrier shoes etc to protect you - it's a standard precaution.
bz I am constantly stunned at how you have thought of everything regarding the wedding - things that wouldn't cropss most people's minds. I think the photo comp is a great idea. Do you have anything like a Costco near youwhere you could buy the cameras cheaper in bulk?
I had the strangest dream last night. It was like I was in Ladette to Lady and I kept getting things wrong!!
