Afternoon all.
Oh boy, you've all been very busy on here over the weekend, haven't you?
Welcome mesb and Littlewren.
I'm not sure I can reply to all that's been said while I've been offline - don't have that much energy today. But ((((HUGS)))) for all who are going through carp at the mo (you know who you are!)
I was interested at the mention of all the folks with sleep probs; mine stem from childhood, I was always scared to sleep in case my father came into the room and abused me while I was alseep. Even now I don't sleep at night, and I'm sure its because I learned not to at a very early age.
I'm a bit better than I was last week - I've concluded that I was worrying a lot about going to the Mensa Regional Day on Saturday. I only agreed because Mr LW wanted to go (although it's me that's the Mensan) and I was right to be apprehensive - it was SCARY!!! I was exhausted when we got home, although we left quite early, probably because I spent the entire time trying to hold my nerves/social phobia in check.
Still, yesterday was better - we went to the Anglian Wolf Society open day, and it was so lovely to see my five lupine friends again. I won an observation visit for 4 people, too, in the raffle, so Mr LW will see which of his pals would like to come with us, then we can get that set up.
Only thing is, I'm mega-burnt, even though it didn't seem to be that sunny. My arms, shoulders and neck (and the tops of me boobs) are bright red. And sore. Apart from a white circle, where the pentagram I always wear goes. And no, you don't get to see a picture.:D
Uh oh, I seem to be rattling on quite a bit:o Will shut up and let someone else get a word in edgeways! If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
lw How lovely it will be to see the Wolves close up - what a lovely prize.
Is it possible you're photosensitive? I develop this problem every so often - I use a herbal/organic sun lotion from a Health shop that soothes and prevents burns. I'll try to remember to look out the make for you - remind me if I forget and you want to know.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Yes I am photosensitive. I usually use Factor 30 when it's sunny, but it looked a bit overcast yesterday, so we didn't take sun lotion with us. Luckily, we both have baseball caps that we keep in the car - me because of the sensitivity, and Mr LW to protect his thinning patch! LOL
I would like to know what the herbal one is that you mentioned - might be better than the bog-standard Tesco's that we currently have.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
cwta Id like to know what sun cream you use too, Im quite pale and burn badly so keep myself covered in factor 30 most of the summer, I've been trying to find and affordable vegan friendly one (not tested on animals) as I've changed all my toiletries and household cleaning products now. Im wondering if your one from the health shop might be ok for me.
lw Well done on winning an amazing prize, we want photos of the wolves pleaseI hope your sunburn eases soon, have you tried any Aloe Vera gel on it ? I swear by the stuff and until recently had a huge Aloe vera plant, but it died and Im looking around for a replacement as I use it when I burn myself cooking, which is very often

, I was always scared to sleep in case my father came into the room and abused me while I was alseep. Even now I don't sleep at night, and I'm sure its because I learned not to at a very early age.!
do you know i had never put that 2+2 together before, yet that would explain perfectly why i always sleep so much better during the day/in daylight hours or in somoeone elses house. thank you.0 -
lw and pcl Awful memories for you both to have to live with and what you say makes perfect sense about learning not to sleep. Hugs to you both.
I had a real upside down day yesterday - went for nap at 2pm, slept til gone 7pm and then slept the night through. Maybe catch up time? I think also partly a reaction to reducing the steroids again - shame - dammit, I feel so well when I'm on a higher dose of them! They won't allow me to stay at higher dose though as long term use causes all sorts of problems.
When I get back from town this morning, I'll check the make of this suncream - I don't remember it as being particularly cheap though but I may be able to pop into Health store I got it from and pick up info on what they have available.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Forgot to say, coupla days ago I found one of those suction handles for the bath for £5 which I thought was really cheap. If anyone wants one, let me know and I can get and post it on to you. I'll test it out tonight - if it takes my weight, it'll take anyones!I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0
