jamla Seriously well done on the clear out. We used to have a saying about Mum - She came. She criticised. She left. Hopefully you'll remember this and snigger a little during her visit.
Funny as that was...I think you meant to direct the mum bit to pcl though :shhh:

bz The form I filled in for Blue Badge was really short and simple - just say how and why you have problems with mobility. Mine was very straightforward and I got the badge within a week! I even phoned them to say thank you for such fast service.
Ah if only... It took mil2b's 3weeks to get here and it was only a simple renewal, so I'm not holding my breath. I do hope that (once I've actually filled it out and then remembered to send it off ) it will come quickly too...might make up, in some way, for me being so lapsidaisical about applying for it after so much time...;)

Am seriously fed up here still. If anyone else was here I'm sure they would slap me for my constant sighing! Still, off to get hair cut in a minute - once I've seen what lw is dishing up for lunch - I may decide to stay and invite myself for grub *g*.
    SLAP!
    That help?? :D

I've got that horrid carpal tunnel type thing, in pretty much both wrists, still and it's doing my head in! And my sexy new trainers (Converse All Stars) still haven't arrived (well one lot did but they weren't as sexy as promised ) that I ordered aaaaages ago (well it was something like the 9/10th, in truth ;)) that I'm hoping will be a cooler alternative to boots, whilst a warmer alternative to normal trainers.. the suspense is KILLING me!!

I've had fibro now for over 7 years, For me It does give me problems with side effects of a lot of my medication.

4 or 5 years ago I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel in both my wrists. I had loads of tests, electrical conduction tests x ray tect etc.

The senior consultant the team said they needed to cut open my wrists and scrape them out. That was not for me.

I was on a medication that lowered my blood pressure called COVERSYL.

That was the one! I came off the medication my wrists, face and feet noticably decreased in size. It was not as the Consultant diagnosed as all it was a reaction to the coversyl. A lot of other symptoms disapeared as well, the coversyl also seemed to make my fibro pain 10x worse.

Does it sound similar to you problem, if so look to your medication. I've learnt so much over the last several years and I still have a huge amount of pain but I have managed some ways to stop it getting excessive.

I don't really want to go into this now but mayme yuo need think twice before going under the knife as fibro is not an easy condition to lice with and my senior consultant was very supprised to see my complete recovery withiut surgery.

  • bz Thank you for pointing out my error (again):D
    That slap smarted
Suppose it was my fault for suggesting it. I do need to move on and be proactive as it's got to the stage where my heart sinks when I come home.

I went to an art exhibition (don'cha know ;)) at the local college before hair appointment and saw some fabulous pieces. There was a Tree of Life that you could hang a note on with a wish on it. I wished I could accept and put things behind me and move on with no regrets. Fat chance
Some of the textile designs were just jaw dropping. I may not be able to do it myself, but I do love to look at it.

Out to dinner tonight to my fave Thai Restaurant which is doing a food market with cooking demonstrations etc. Looking forward to, but hoping it's not too crowded - I still get scared of getting knocked as I'm so unsteady on my feet - until I've had a drink, that usually steadies me :D

Sis' 50th Birthday today and she's having a party next week, so I think I may make the trip to Buckinghamshire even if the thought scares me a little.
It'll be nice to catch up with the people there I haven't seen for a while - almost 8 years!
    Chin up everyone.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

Hi all, All this talk about haircuts reminded me, Im being dragged back to the salon to be a model for dd again tomorrow .
Ive just had a lovely email from ds2, his partner went for a scan today and he sent me the picture, apparently g/d age 2 looked at the screen, pointed to it and said 'bubby' how cute.

julie welcome to the group, whats that saying? you dont have to be mad to come here, but it helps :D

BZ 16 weeks  I cant believe how quick its come round either, I hope you find a good deal on your flowers soon. Good news about the wheelchair.

Sharon Im glad you had a fun time with your friends, did you get any bargains ?

cwta Im sorry you've had to give up on the house, but I agree with lw, she would have been a nightmare landlady. Dont apologise for going on about your househunting, thats real life stuff for you and very important, I hope you find somewhere perfect soon.

Hassie we've not had any rain today, its been lovely, so hopefully its going to spread around the country tomorrow. I know what you mean about sciatica, I get a similar problem thats a nerve pain that runs down my leg and into my foot but its been much better since Ive had my Lyrica prescription increased. Ive put on 1/2 a stone though as it can increase your appetite, but its worth it for me.

lw Im having sheperds spy tonight too, yum ;)

Saw Snr Registrar yesterday - lovely woman - I told her how much of a difference being on here made to my mental wellbeing and she told me a little about how FM differs from Lupus/MCTD. She said there are direct links between FM, IBS and CFS! Also poor sleep! I know many of you have already made that link yourselves, but I thought you would be interested to know that it's a known phenomenon.
    .

It's not surprising to me - I got dxd with all three :o. I had a really bad night last night and slept most of this morning, but decided to go and see Star Trek this afternoon. I would love to tell you it was great, but alas I slept through most of that as well  and can't even say what the plot was - apart from to say I think I've lost it :rotfl:. DH says it's the best Star Trek film yet, which is good as he'll have to sit through it again and next time I'll make sure we go in the morning, after a good night's sleep :D.

I had to go to audiology yesterday and despite it being a really good day with no booming in my head, my hearing has still deteriorated since August last - so now I need hearing aids for both ears. Today of course the booming is back and my head and neck feel like they're in a vice.

DS had his economics exam this morning and txt to say he thinks it has gone well :T fingers crossed!

I'm off to look up Carbamazepine now to see if it causes food cravings as I seem to be starving hungry most of the time just at present, not like me at all .

    Time for Corrie too ;).

Wow it's been quiet this morning! Hope everyone's ok...? Either that or my browser still hasn't really refreshed this page (even though I've clicked it like 3 times in disbelief!)...

garrettm I forgot to reply to you! I thought I had carpal tunnel, but there's been no swelling etc and the best that was offered to me was a prod of the wrists, tubagrips and the suggestion to bathe them in warm water in the mornings to unseize them...? This was when I was working in a cold (food processing) factory though. I never was very convinced that I had it as I don't/didn't actually spend that much time doing repetitive strain injury type activities...and then I found out I had ME and Fibro etc...so I've never even thought about the surgery type thing - but I am with you on the avoiding it! They tried to tell me I needed surgery on my knee....erm, think I'll stick with the occassional twinge, ta!

*staggers in and flops down on sofa*

Hel's teeth, I'm so tired today. Did too much yesterday I guess. I always do on days Mr LW is working from home. He's on late shift today though, and there's extra maintenance to do tonight, so he won't be in til daft o'clock.:(

BZ I fully agree about avoiding surgery like the plague - they'd have to catch me first!

CwtA what's scary about Buckinghamshire? We don't bite here, y'know! At least, not much.:D

Suep did you enjoy your Shepherd Spy?

I made cherry and coconut buns for the first time, and Mr LW took some in his lunch box today. He texted me to say they were "yum" so that's a relief.

I have a feeling I'm rambling, so I'll shut up now *waves to everyone else*
