Maybe I should send your laptop some virtual grapes and a get well card, if it's in 'puter hospital? LOL

:rotfl::rotfl:Thankyou lw, I forgot to ask him how long its going to take, I really miss it. I picked this man in particular as he's called Druid services, I was hoping it was going to be a real Druid and not some geeky kid who thought the name was cool  and I think he is a real druid, he commented on my amethyst pentacle straight away and said it was unusual (its my favourite crystal) he was really nice, even if he did take my laptop away :D

I've been into town this morning, I needed to pay some money in the bank and pick up a few bits in superdrug, I knew I wouldnt manage it myself, not without giving myself loads of pain just when Im recovering from sunday, so I grit my teeth and asked my Mum to push me in my wheelchair, I hate asking her and I hate being in the wheelchair even more, but I knew there was no other way, and that I had to swallow my pride and give in, even if it did make me feel totally useless.
Has anyone else ever had to give in to fibro and accept that they need help, I found it really difficult.

Not even gonna attempt to reply to you all but just wanted to say hello to Sharon and Newbies and happy birthday to Auntie Axe.

Been with my sisters for a couple of days then Ireland until yesterday. I did come on, on Thursday before I set off for Ireland but it ate my post so I threw a tantrum!

I got that book Auntie Axe, thanks xxxx
  • kass nice to see you again - glad you're OK.

sue I am very independent and needing help is the thing I struggle with most. I end to try to do things regardless and then suffer afterwards. I am quite lucky in that, maybe it's because there's a large portion of the population here that are older, people often offer help. Y'know getting things off the bottom shelf in supermarket etc. I like that they offer as it's easier to say yes please than to actually ask for help when it isn't offered. ykwim?? I think sue as long as you are accepting a little help to do things yourself, rather than getting people to do everything for you, it's a positive thing rather than a giving up thing. That's my take on it anyway if that makes sense.

I caught the Martin Clunes thingy online - they didn't show much of the Scillys, but I stay on St Marys which is the largest of the islands.

I got a letter this morning from DWP to go for a work focused interview? I've just been awarded IB indefinately? I know they have to go through their procedures, but surely when they're short-staffed, they could be offering their time and help to those who need it now?

Saw Snr Registrar yesterday - lovely woman - I told her how much of a difference being on here made to my mental wellbeing and she told me a little about how FM differs from Lupus/MCTD. She said there are direct links between FM, IBS and CFS! Also poor sleep! I know many of you have already made that link yourselves, but I thought you would be interested to know that it's a known phenomenon.

Right, I have to think now of how I can fill my day which is looming over me rather.

Hope all those who are quiet at the moment are OK.

Ooh, I dread it every time the letter-box goes these days; if they call me for a "work-focussed interview", it'll mean Mr LW having to take a day's leave to take me there, and all sorts of stress-induced symptoms for me.:(_pale_:eek:

Nice to see you back, Kass.

That is the interview I had last Friday. DH also had to take a day off work but they did pay us travelling expenses which was a huge help. The intrviewer was kind and helpful but I was so stressed I cried all over his desk! I haven't heard anything yet as a result of the interview, trying not to think about it. I hope yours goes well and you get someone nice and kind. They are only doing their job after all.

Sharon, I hope everything goes well with your treatment. You are in good hands it seems and that is a positive for you. I will be thinking of you. Sorry your weekend was so wet but at least you were dry inside!

I had this about 18months ago and he realised that he was wasting his time going through the motions as it was blatant that I wasn't going to be doing any sort of work for quite some time! Try not to worry too much Cwta or LW.

Sharon gutted about the chemo but hoping it does the trick!

Tria hope you get some time off the head/face aches soon....

Pcl £250 for a windscreen wiper?! That's EXTORTION!!

BZ I've had neighbours from hell in the past, too. Well done to DF for sorting it al out so well. Are you any further forward with flowers and rings?
Flowers...Ugh. DF called in at a shop in town that he knows the owner of - she does flowers and venue dressing - on the way home from work yesterday and she offered him £2.50 for each buttonhole (we need 12 and the groom's is a double bloom so it's £5), instead of the usual £3.50... I asked him what she'd said about the bouquets and he said he never asked cos he forgot about them! So I dragged his keister down there with me and asked her about them - and she said she couldn't do purple gerberas! Said they don't grow naturally and they have to be dyed to get that colour... I don't care if they have to be dyed or not, I just want my purple gerberas and white roses! She tried fobbing me off with freesias...like they're anything like em?! Grrr. I asked how much we'd be talking for bridesmaid bouquets (of which there are 3) and she said about £35...EACH! and for the bride's bouquet..? About £50! I know that for some places these prices are cheap...but I'm surely not the only one that thinks that these prices are extortionate for what are essentially glorified bunch of flowers....?

I had a sneaky thought though......one of my friends' mum dabbles with flowers so I've asked her to ask her mum if she can do them (she's a qualified florist but I think she's on IB and DLA etc as she has spine and hip issues)...I'm hoping she can get hold of the purple gerberas and will be able to do it all for a good price for us...she's done weddings before...

I was MIA yesterday cos it was Mil2b's birthday, I only woke up at 3pm and by the time I'd come round properly DF was home! He'd blagged a sort of half day cos he though he'd booked the arvo off for his ma's bday... then all the commotion of the flower shop and gathering flowers and cards for his mum and the ingredients for apple&blackberry crumble and custard that I was making for her post lasagne and garlic bread birthday tea...and we watched The Invincibles together on the basis that it was bright and she should be able to see more of it... so that's why I wasn't online...

  • bz, I only had flowers at my first wedding and that was so long ago, that they only cost £50 for the lot :o
Does seem a lot though so speaking to this other woman does sound a good idea.
I'm not worried about the interview, just a little confused about it as it's a waste of time, but if I have to do it, I have to do it.
Pleased you got some sleep though even if we missed you.

Thanks... It hasn't gone yet. Jaw's still crazy sore, some of my teeth hurt and I feel sick. It's so frustrating - I cannot seem to find a dentist who has any experience with my health issues who can take me on. The one I found who IS taking new patients is on the other side of town and has no clue about fibro or EDS/HMS, but told me it looks like I may lose another two molars if I'm not able to be treated soon. :(

Oh, and the dental hospital said they won't treat me. *swears again*
