I passed Roger Waters in the street a couple of years ago - now there's a bloke who has improved with age! In all honesty they all pale into insignificance compared to my hero who is on the front cover of Mojo this month - the late great Nick Drake...........

It's just so sad that there are so few photos of him, however an hour with him maybe serenading me with 'Clothes of Sand' and 'Made to Love Magic' would I'm sure cure some of my pain ;). I have an artist friend commissioned to draw him complete with angel's wings and have received the rough sketch, which is brilliant :T.

I was just saying to my daughter at the Eric Clapton concert, that I could be persuaded to swap bodies with say an 18-year-old in order to go to a Kings of Leon concert though . I've got into them from listening to DS's collection and think they're great! I even love their names Caleb Followill - lead vocals, rhythm guitar / Jared Followill - bass / Matthew Followill - lead guitar / Nathan Followill - drums. DS has tickets to see them in Spain this summer, but despite wanting to sell them because it will probably coincide with a placement, he won't sell them to me . He say's I'd never survive nine days camping on a beach and heck, he may be right :o.

Oooh, Kings of Leon - I'll come with you :D Nine days camping on a beach though, I don't think I could manage nine hours :o

We definitely have similar taste in music! Have you heard of Jeff Buckley? He's my cosmic twin. He was so talented but died really young.

I'm a sucker for a good voice and deep eyes :o

ETA: Roger Waters - he had to improve with age, bless him! Nick Mason was always rather yummy...!

hi, I haven't posted on here in months. It is good to be able to read and empathise with other people. It makes me feel less isolated.

I had my visit to the jobcentre to see the employment advisor on Friday and I got really upset as I can't think of any job that i can do. I hope they continue my IB and DLA. One positive thing came out of the meeting and that is that I am eligible for a free bus pass, if I ever have the stamina to get a bus somewhere!

Hi Poohbear. You're not alone, every time I look in the papers or jobcentre there's never any jobs that I know I could manage to do. I tried going back to work a couple of years back - I was a lunchtime supervisor in a local school and all I had to do was turn up for just over an hour every day. I was off sick as often as I turned up  After six months I resigned because I wasn't being fair to them.

I've only just managed to get DLA sorted, I've tried before but lost my case, I didn't know about filling in the form on a bad day scenario then. I've got it for 12 months but because it was backdated by 8 weeks it meant I only had 10 months remaining so I couldn't go on the Motability scheme. I was counting on that because whilst I already have a car, it's a manual gearbox - I can't afford to buy an automatic (certainly not on IB and still not on IB and DLA) so I don't go out much, it's too exhausting. I've got to wait until my renewal comes up and hope I have at least 12 months remaining so I can join the scheme then. They have an automatic fiesta that would be perfect for me.

*Googles Mary McDonnell* *decides she still prefers Dave Gilmour* ;):rotfl:

Ahaha. That doesn't surprise me, given half the pictures that come up early in Google results, which either aren't that great or have her wearing way too much makeup... I am so glad she's cut down on that! Dave Gilmour was pretty for a guy, in his day, but I would take Mary over just about anyone else, especially with legs like hers... I mean really, looking like that at 57? Mmm... Hehe.

More recent, more resembling picture? Even though the lighting on it sucks because I had to scan the photograph. *glares at scanner* Oh, and since you wouldn't know, the green one is me.

BZ who did you want to strangle first over the flower mix up ?
Mil2b!! She told me that the woman did fake AND real flowers!! Daft wench! The woman was almost mortified when she had to tell me that she doesn't do real flowers... I wouldn't mind so much but the only reason we invited her, her partner and her mother (don't ask!) was because she was doing the flowers....and with the guest list vs maximum capacity being constantly at war it's a tad irritating...

I want to have everything sorted and ready by the time the hen and stag dos are on the way, so there's nothing else to stress about for the last month apart from maybe going for the dress fittings. I'm hoping it'll work that way anyway!

Tiger we're having the Jeff Buckley "Hallelujah" track playing at the wedding reception... DF loves him.

Kings of Leon are on the playlist too... "Sex on Fire" is good and "Use Somebody" is ace :D

Uhoh - DF's just shot off fuming after a call from mil2b saying that some kid's dad's just come round threatening her and the dogs after she couldn't find the ball that the kid had (accidentally) thrown over the fence into their backyard. She can't get out into the yard easily because she's scared she'll trip over the uneven paving slabs and told the kid that he couldn't climb over either cos of the dogs (and cos it's ridiculous!!) so said he'd have to wait til her son came back. The kid's gone off and got his dad and the dad has come over having a go at her for saying he couldn't have it back and saying that the kid was climbing over now and if she lets the dogs out he'll get his dogs who'll rip our dogs apart!!!:mad::angry:  WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO?!

DF is of course very protective of mil2b and has gone storming round there to sort this guy out. I hope he doesn't do anything stupid. :( I couldn't go with him cos I'm not dressed (still in pj's) and am (understandably) fairly concerned... _pale_

Trialia - I've never seen her before tbh, she's very pretty though and I'd be happy to look half that good when I'm 47 let alone 57!

Bigzippy - his version is the best, your DF has taste :D As for your mil2b - that sounds awful :( What on earth are people thinking these days?

I had exactly the same thing happen to me when I lived in Suffolk  An 11 year old kicked his ball into my back yard and as the wall was very high he decided to bang on the front door. I was in my pj's eating dinner at the time so I said I'd throw it back over in a few minutes. Apparently that wasn't good enough so he threatened to "crack my f****** skull open" before running off. I went into the kitchen where I saw him climbing over the wall - I opened the door and told him I was going to call the police if he didn't get down off my wall. A bit antagonistic maybe but I wasn't going to jump when he told me to, I would have had his ball over the wall every few minutes. I took the ball indoors so he had no reason to come into my garden. Seconds later he was drop-kicking my front door. I told him if he didn't give me five minutes to finish my dinner then I was going to pop the ball. Two minutes later his friends dad was at my door. I began to wonder if the poxy ball was made by Damien Hurst and studded with diamonds. We actually had a nice chat and he told me the child was a nightmare and he tries to ban his son from playing with him. As inter-neighbour relations were going well I decided not to tell him that his own son had been egged on by the brat to come into our back garden and have a good nose around a few weeks earlier.

I'm so glad we moved from there, the stress made my FM so much worse - there were 14 year olds racing motorbikes (no helmets) along pavements and driving them straight at pedestrians to make them move out of the way. Since we moved from there it's got even worse. Apparently the 11 year old has been waving knives at 5 year olds and telling them to get out of his road before he cuts them open. In fact, about a month before we moved, he threw a hand-sized rock of flint at me and it narrowly missed my face. Charming child.

Is DF back yet BZ ? or have you heard from him yet ? I hope it gets sorted out ok, I can understand you worrying though, you never know whats going to happen nowadays,( yes I know I sound old, I am )
Let us know when he gets back safe.

I got back from the party a while ago, sat down on the sofa and the next thing I know the phones going and its an hour later, Id fallen asleep  I havnt been awake for long, hope it doesnt muck up my sleep tonight.
The party was great, did I say before that dg/s thinks Im just a big kid who plays with him so as soon as he saw me at the Jungle Gym place he said 'Nanny', grabbed my hand and dragged me off with him to play. Have you ever been inside one of those places ? the kids are lethal, it was a nightmare, every time I managed to slip away he dragged me back into the ball pit or some other form of torture, Im not going to be able to move by the morning.(It was sort of fun though ;)) just remind me off that tomorrow.

Ive got that techy guy coming round tomorrow about the problem with my laptop and the charger lead, except its working fine again at the moment )

DF's rung me. He managed to keep his temper, find out where the guy lived and what his name was and called the police out. A community support officer came round and said the lad was trespassing and the man was completely out of order etc went round to the man's house and apparently the wife came home while community officer was there and was eyeing daggers at husband and about to tear a strip off him! DF's coming home soon as soon as mil2b has calmed down... I'm actually really proud of him for keeping his cool cos he was seething when he left here...

Tiger your experience sounds horrid, and very similar to one I had at my old house where there was the family from hell living behind me...

Raeh what's happening with that doc appt?
