hi guys, I'm knackered so only a short post.... to say we've found the suits today!! YAY!!!!! Cannot tell you how happy I am or what a relief it is or how much of a weight of it is!! We got a really good price too... we asked where the big and tall suit shop was while we were in Manchester today and ended up in Slaters...told the guy exactly what I/we wanted and he pulled it out of the bag for £69! For jacket & trews! And free alterations!! We've put half down and they're holding it til Sept when DF'll go in and have the alterations done, so he's under no pressure to lose any weight or stay the same :D DF's going in with the groomsmen (incl my 11yr old nephew - so not too expenny for a suit e'll likely wear only once!) in a couple of weeks to get the guys measured up and they'll order them in and we're planning to meet my folks in Birmingham (where there's another Slaters) to get my Dad sorted with his and we'll trundle off to the jewellry quarter to try and get my ring done....the guy today was a joker! He wanted £870  for a plain 18ct white gold band that's slightly shaped! I asked if that was the best price he could do and they knocked it down (with a little haggling) to £702! They also wanted to take my engagement ring (which is now discontinued so irreplaceable) for 8 WEEKS!!! Then when it was clear I/we were still unimpressed they started trying on the hard sell so we left. *sigh* Anyone been anywhere in the jewellry quarter for bespoke jewellry?

Sorry to be all me me me.

    Hi Tiger, welcome.

Sorry you had such rubbish news about the house Cwta.

Sorry to everyone else, I know some of you are feeling ridiculously spoonless, as am I, so I'm off to watch some more dvds ;)

Thanks for the welcome big zippy :)

As for your wedding ring - I had my (platinum) wedding ring made up by someone in Birmingham (although it was done via the internet) and it cost me £300. They're taking you for a ride  If you want the info on the guy who made my ring, please pm me and I'll pass his info onto you. There's also a thread on here somewhere where I put a few people in touch with him and they were thrilled with the outcome, too. He also has excellent feedback and ratings on his ebay store - I wouldn't recommend him if there was even the slightest doubt in my mind :)

Have a wonderful time Sharon. Getting away from home is good even if you dion't go far.
hassie Weeding Scary!. I hope DH is OK now and that your nervy stomach settles down.

I'm going to do a combination of things today - I will walk onthe beach, come back and have a pamper session, but my birthday pressie to myself is to allowed to be upset or lose my temper!! I normally don't let myself, but have just heard that move may be off completely or delayed for at least 2 months. Sodding Landlady - and Letting Agent isn't returning my calls. Ho hum.

    Have a lovely day all.
p.s. tiger, yes, name is from Pink Floyd song. You're showing your age!
    Cheers m'dear :rotfl:

I'm just an old hippie at heart, there is no other band :D

Happy Birthday Axe, and welcome to the thread, Tiger.

I've been offline most of the week, apart from the dilemma thread for a couple of hours - frakking migraines. I hate them so much. I wish the weather would settle down, then my head wouldn't hurt like crazy...

Hope you're all no worse than usual :)

I cant stay online for too long, Im having to use the main comp again. My laptops burned out the new charger lead that I brought a few weeks ago to replace the last one. I rang a local mobile bloke and he said it sounds like the pin at the back and hes coming round on Monday to hopefully fix it, just hope its not going to cost too much, he doesnt charge for a call out fee so fingers crossed.

BZ Im glad you got the suits ready, thats one less thing you've got to worry about, and this jeweller that Tigers recommended sounds like just what you need, thankyou Tiger for helping out our BZ, we are going through every stage of this wedding planning with her, so anything that helps, is great with us iykwim ;)

Tralia Migraines are awful, have you got anything from the doctor for them ? Im sure I dont get them so often now that I have reflexology, but I think any relaxation technique would help.

I have to get back to the kitchen, Im making fairy cakes for g/s's birthday party tomorrow :D

lol Suep, I know exactly what you mean! I've got two weddings under my belt :D

Tralia - it's fab to see you on a friendlier thread ;) As for the migraines, I get them too. Definitely see your gp, I take Imigran Radis and couldn't live without them. As the FM means you have less resistance to pain, migs can be more horrendous than most non-FM people can ever imagine. My migs have got heaps worse since the FM set in.
  • BZ brill on getting the suits. That's a big tick off the list too. Good luck with the ring - sounds like you're on the right track now with that too.

Tiger, I'll be behind you in the queue for DG ;)

I have a fancy to do some baking today - can't decide whether to make brownies or muffins. I suppose it'll depend on whether I can find which packing box my baking stuff is in

I slept loooooong today - makes up for a week or so of bad nights. In a fit of picque I took myself off out for dinner last night to a little place I know that's single women fiendly. The sleep may have been linked to the 2 glasses of spritzer I indulged in but, hey, if it works, don't knock it!

    Wishing all a peaceful day.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D
