Well I was diagnosed with IBS when I was a teenager but another doctor said he thought it was more than that (after I got him out after hours) when he examined me and I showed him where the pain was etc. I was then sent for tests for gall stones but it showed nothing. Then when I moved to Ireland the doc there said he thought it was something more and sent me for a colonoscopy. That showed I had Diverticular disease and that's why I think it's infected. If a piece of food gets caught in one of the pockets in my bowel it can do that and they say it can be dangerous but I'm sure it was infected before (when I called doc out) and I was fine after a while.

Thing is, I don't know if I have IBS and DD. Did I have BS and then develop DD or whether the IBS was a misdiagnosis.

    Hi Kass,

The Stitch 'n' B1tch' is a knitting group - we meet on a Thursday evening, sit and knit, have a good laugh and share books and patterns.

I got dxd last year with IBS and the start of diverticulitis - it's not fun is it? :o. I was offered some enemas to help but decided to just see the dietitian instead. The diet they advised contains no wheat or dairy and very little fruit and veg. So it is mostly white rice and fish. I am much better these days and have started to introduce other foods - one at a time and in very small amounts - stopping straight away whatever starts to give me problems. Of course there's not much fibre, so I take Movicol and Senna on prescription.

I do hope you get sorted out soon as it's not only painful, it's bloomin' inconvenient too,

Jealousy is a very ugly emotion, kass :D

Have uploaded some photies of Scilly visit to photobucket - a lot of flora and fauna as they're my fave subject to photograph. Haven't yet gone through and deleted duff ones yet.

Looks like a great place to spend a holiday ;) I love the quality of light over the sea - it reminds me of the Orkneys - only much warmer and with trees! :D

its beautiful cwta, no wonder oyu like it there so much, looks lovely and peaceful too.

i thought it was far later into the afternoon than it is and was going to say i hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday, despite the rain, but its not even quite lunchtime so instead i will say i hope you are all having a peaceful and restful lie in :D
  • pcl, You're so right -there is an air of tranquility and relaxation about the place. No-one rushes anywhere and everyone is so friendly.

Unity, something I haven't yet been able to catch on camera is the way the light changes the green of the landscape when there are, say, storm clouds coming off the sea. It's one of the most impressive sights. I think I would actually like to go on a short course on digital photography to make the most of it, but I'll have a look and see if there are any on-line courses first.

I hope everyone is either relaxing or still sleeping peacefully. It's a little grey here, but no rain so a lovely drying day *g*. Don'tcha hate it when you open your mouth and your Mother speaks *g*.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

Some lovely photos there cwta :D i never quite capture exactly what i want when i try nature photos. The thing i'm seeing through the camera isnt what i end up with

very grey and dull here today and keeps raining on and off so it gave me an excuse to get all the ironing done [over 3 hours worth  that'll teach me to ignore it all week] i really wanted to finish jet washing the top patio but never mind i'm sure it will get done another time.

i hope everyone has had a nice bank holiday, i can feel my mood slipping as i know its back to work tomorrow :( worse as its been a lovely long weekend too

It does look lovely there cwta I can see why you love it so much. Did you see the Martin Clunes programme about British Islands ? He's started up North and is going to end up in the SW so I expect it's going to be the Scilly Isles.

What a change in the weather, it's freezing again, Ive had to put the fire on to keep warm.
    Hope everyones ok

  • raeh I'm much the same where photies don't turn out quite how I hoped. The ones of the tumble down cottage, in the distance, there are some new build properties and I tried to get the juxtaposition of the two, but it didn't work. It's also why I take a few pic of the same thing, in the hope that at least one will be how I imagine.

sue, I didn't see the Martin Clunes thing, but will make a special effort to see the one for the Scillys. I think he goes to the lighthouse as it's the most SW point of the British Isles.

If anyone is interested, the new series of the Island Parish is on at the end of the year - they were filming some of it when I was there. Most of it is based on St Marys, where I stay, as it's the largest of the islands with a population of 1600 *g*. Positively heaving!

BTW, raeh, I came home to 2 small comp wins - 2 of the Go Cat toys. Small, but a start *g*.

  • Where are you going sue? Funnily enough I was lying in bed this morning and thinking about the library and the wealth of reference books there for all things crafty and have decided to pay a visit today.
I'll have to sort out some more books to send you before you go away - less for me to pack up too!
raeh, hope the first day back at work after a long weekend is OK. There's another long weekend at the end of the month to look forward to.
