Fibromyalgia (part 2)

Well I was diagnosed with IBS when I was a teenager but another doctor said he thought it was more than that (after I got him out after hours) when he examined me and I showed him where the pain was etc. I was then sent for tests for gall stones but it showed nothing. Then when I moved to Ireland the doc there said he thought it was something more and sent me for a colonoscopy. That showed I had Diverticular disease and that's why I think it's infected. If a piece of food gets caught in one of the pockets in my bowel it can do that and they say it can be dangerous but I'm sure it was infected before (when I called doc out) and I was fine after a while.
Thing is, I don't know if I have IBS and DD. Did I have BS and then develop DD or whether the IBS was a misdiagnosis.0 -
sorry pcl, it's a re-union thing from a club we used to go to in the 90's. there was never a place like it before or since and I was sooo excited but now I want to cry.
Lol, @ the cat! Bless her!!0 -
should be fun, hope you manage to go and have a good time. if things havent settled down properly by tuesday go see doctor, just in case. the little i remember about dd makes me say it should not be ignored.0

Ow Kass that doesn't seem too good, why do these things always happen on bank holidays when you cant get to the drs ? I hope it eases soon, if it gets any worse maybe you should go to your local A&E or call the dr out.
I hope you manage to get to your club reunion thingy.
I winged about the meal in an earlier post nearer the top of the page
Pcl I know what Kass means, you are always so kind and supportive to us and never seem to winge yourself, you are a very nice person :A
Well I did mean to take it easy but both sons turned up with their families and it got a bit hectic especially as neither g/k would leave me alone, I found it really difficult as they both wanted nanny and I was trying to give them both cuddles attention etc. I took a few pics of them and ds1 took one of the 3 of us so I'll post a link if its not too bad once I get them online. I've collapsed on the sofa now in a lot of pain, but it was worth it.Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

Am listening to the finals of the World Gig Championships on Radio Scilly online and wishing I was still there!
pcl, I second what has been said - so do winge if you need/want to.
kass that sounds nasty, don't hesitate to seek medical help if it continues to be as painful.
sue, playing with the grankids must be lovely, but am not surprised it takes its toll on you. Put your feet up from now until next Tuesday *g*I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Kassandra,
I know exactely what you're going through ,the pain is unbelieveable isn't it.They keep telling me different things 29 years ago it was colitus then irritable bowel then divertuculitus.I've just had a camera again and inconclusive. The strange thing is my pain is nearly always in the right side and the camera doesn't go that far ??????????
Will be seeing specialist again shortly and intend to bring this up.Do you find certain foods make you worse,I can't eat nuts or drink white wine.It feels as if someone is twisting my insides. You have my sympathies cos nothing seams to help until the episode goes away,
Take care ,
Genine
Have also noticed when infected tend to get "smelly wind " Don't suffer to long cos it can perforate your bowel.0 -

raeh - hypermobility syndrome can actually be a cause of fibro all by itself rather than a symptom, but FMS doesn't help HMS/EDS-III. I have FMS and Ehlers-Danlos hypermobility-type, and have since birth. The latter's hereditary - my father has it.
Edit: to clarify, have had EDS h-type since birth, not FMS!Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
thank you trialia, its amazing the amount of things iv learnt on here. Iv always just thought i was very 'bendy'. When i did yoga the teacher used to say i was the most flexible person she knew. Yet another thing to mention to the gp i guess and look yet again like a total hypochondriac  then again im not sure its even worth mentioning. Do you know i never knew everyones thumbs didnt touch their arms
its nice to know i suppose though why im always so 'clicky'
