you lupie people [i said lupie not loopy ;)] started me thinking quite a while ago as when you read the symptoms mine mirror lupus just as much as fibro if not more but i dont know if im just being a hypocondriac and the gp will laugh at me? its just that all these different things i complain of seem far too much some days for fibro? ... shut me up, im just a total hypocondriac :o
You're not a hypochondriac, you are understandably concerned about your health - as are we all! So "shut your rattle" (as MIL2B says, a lot!) if you're going to say things like that! :naughty: If you're concerned about it, ask your doc for a test? What's worse: a)that you worry you might have it and end up a little embarrassed about asking your doc? or b) that you are too scared to ask and do have it and aren't being treated for it? Hmmm, I wonder...

  • Nice to see you back BZ (through gritted teeth) *grin*
Well done for taking it easy re the wheelchair thingymajigjog. If it leaves you with that little bit more energy to do something that you enjoy, it's got to be worth it.
seaside, thank you so much. Course we understand your having to check first. Please do tell her we're sending all our love and hugs and she's never far from our thoughts.

I made a style statement when I washed my hair and had a rubber glove sellotaped over the afflicted paw. Wonder if it will catch on, I can see the Vogue cover shot now.

Had a lovely long chat on phone with a friend which involved lots of giggles and even a few belly laughs and it has done me the world of good.

Am wondering if we all declared ourselves major disater areas, do you think we could get some funding from the UN??
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

Raeh make sure that you rest LOADS after OFSTED. I know it can be exhausting for the most "healthy" of people, so you need to make sure that you take some time out to recover. (So consider yourself told! ;))
:o *feels suitably told* i felt very tired last night and today after sharons news and the relief of ofsted being over, funny how things can just flatten you isnt it? we had a preliminery feedback before the full report to follow in a few weeks nd it was excellent :D very pleased after a few days of hard work.

well done for going in the chair, if it leaves spoons for other things then make the most of it ;)

CwtA a good chat and a laugh with a friend is the best medication in the world ;)

ps 'rattle is shut' ;) im going to make an appointment at the gp for next week as iv been very run down and could do with a chat anyway i think :)

  • Ack thanks so much, I think thats wonderful advice about keeping a diary about my problems, every ache will be noted. I am being seen by haemotology at my local hospital because of my auto-ammune condition so they have been very good with the test they've done, I'm only 29 and a mother of 2 so I'm hoping to get a little more energy and a little less aches and pains...we can always dream, eh? lol

As for men being a little less considerate....I'm with you there....one word for them....melters!!!! but handy for helping around the house lol
  • My, my, you all have been busy tonight!

BZ whoop whoop  Well done love!!!

About the relationship thing. I think you are all right about it making a difference them knowing what they were getting into. Before my diagnosis I thought I was mental then I thought he was mental and playing mind games with me. Since then I have realised neither of us are mental (well not any more than I was before!) but we have both changed. How can I blame him for changing when I have too. How can I blame him for being miserable when I am too. We often forget that it doesn't just affect us but our whole family. Men are also (generally) not very good at understanding or handling something like this. I think they are more practical creatures and if there isn't a solution or anything practical they can do then they feel helpless. *stands down from soap box*

I used the spoon theory! Yay!! I sent the link in an e-mail to a few close friends and family. My sister sent me a message back saying she didn't realise how bad I was. Now I feel like a fraud again! I don't want dramatics or for her to feel bad for me. Bless her, I'm so lucky with my family (my father aside) :D

Hey CWTA it worked for Michael Jackson, what more can I say

Raeh, I know what you mean but I think that makes us guilty of playing the seriousness of Fibro down. It's what other people do to us. I did wonder though so thanks cwta for filling me in. I get really confused with all the symptoms and some of them I didn't know were related to Fibro. Like my cholesterol is high and I couldn't understand why, also my thyroid isn't working properly but the doc say's it isn't that bad that it needs meds. Also my kidneys/liver doesn't work properly (can't remember which). I think I have since read that these are all related to Fibro.

Seaside, I'm glad she still has some connection to us at this horrible time. Hopefully it will give her some strength. I don't think I can say anymore than everyone else has so I shall just repeat the thanks and ask you to pass my thoughts on to her.

    See you all tomorrow

  • I just realised something...this is the first website I visit when I switch my laptop on and this is the first thread I read. I feel very close to so many of you here as if we were friends in the 'real' world. I'm glad to have this place to come to and share experiences, laughs and ideas. Yay!!! for the internet and everyone here. I don't feel so isolated and out of touch from the rest of the world...it feels so safe and supportive thanks to all of you.

Have a very good night every one :-)

    SAFFIE, I feel for you.
My husband was a lovely person who I thought I knew inside out after being married for 14 years, but when I got ill he turned into another person!!! up to the point of mental and physical abuse. After trying to deal with his indifference and lies for over 18 months I filed for divorce.......lots of bad stuff there, but after everything it was I was so relieved to be without him.

Men just don't 'handle' illness...when I was having chemo, the nurse told me that in 99% of the cases where the woman is ill the man turns into a monster and clears off, but when men are ill the wife, or other half, is devoted to them 24/7.

Writing a letter is also what I did and it helped put cards on the table.
Hugs for whatever you decide to do.
