  • 'ow do.Black Dog Eviction Squad to the rescue. Whilst you weren't looking I gave the hound a blue rinse, hair do a la poodle, and painted toe claws flourescent yellow. Takes their power away y'know.

LW, the emotional hangover from bad dreams is awful isn't it. I try to keep the thoughts away by keeping my mind occupied with something as complex as I can deal wit - howzabout some knitting?

sue, I find the days where I'm exhausted and in pain when it's someone elses fault (no, not you s/e) the hardest to deal with. Hugs to you, lovely.

raeh, have you spent any of your JL vouchers yet? I fully intend to live through your win vicariously *grin*

helibee, welcome. We like new faces here - stick around, vent, laugh and generally feel supported.

As it's Fri 13th, I think it's probably safer for everyone else if I stay at home today, although that's no guarantee *grin* I can do damage by phone if I try really hard. Pesky hormones.

after neighbour troubles got me down last week, I mused about moving and found a nice house to rent in one of my fave villages, but when council tax etc is put into the equation, I really can't afford it. Still, the trips away I have this year will be good for me.

    Stay well and safe everyone.

CWTA are you going anywhere nice this year ? Im not sure if we will be able to go away, our dogs getting old and clingy, we dont like leaving her and last year we came home to a messy house and piles of washing coutesy of DD
Honestly my boys were much tidier than she is, I dont know how she's ever going to manage when she gets her own place.

  • sue, going back to Scillys for a week at the end of April, then to America to stay with family sometime May/June.

Also have lots of small trips to fit in, to Buckinghamshire for Sister, Kent for 1st ex-OH's family - this year is my year of travel! Before last summer, I hadn't had a holiday for 7 years so I'm making up for lost time.

I have my cross stitch to do; I'm making light switch surrounds with a Celtic knotwork pattern on them, as I'm fed up with grubby paw marks on the walls.
Once those are done (probably a few weeks hence:o) I have some material for my first foray into making cushion covers.

    Btw, how's the paw, CwtA?

  • Hi Helibee, welcome to the loonie bin! Hope you stick around.

Suep, hope you feel better soon. I'm suffering today. Overdid it yesterday then had a fight with my Dad. No fists of course but he always manages to upset me in a way no-one else can  Woke up this morning and feel terrible, my psoriasis has really flared up too.

On the up-side. I had a really good time at the group yesterday. I was a bit nervous as I thought it might be a bit like group therapy and I'm not really a sharer :D I can on here but not face to face and I tend to be quite flippant. Anyway, they were lovely and it was more like friends meeting for a coffee and a chat. It was very amusing too as we were all foggy and the conversations of "you know them things that you get........you know........them things!.......and you put them on a thingy *hand gesture*" were all really funny :rotfl: I felt right at home :D

I picked up some really good info and advice too. One of them is going to find out about young carers groups in Leeds for me through the woman who runs the one her child goes to. Does anyone know how to get a wheelchair? Is it through your doctor or what?

Ooh LW, I had such a terrible dream last night/this morning. My nightmares are so vivid I actually get really shaken up from them. This one actually had me wake up feeling pain in my arm where I had been slashed with a knife, I mean there was actual physical pain there  How weird is that

CWTA, I have lost what I was going to say to you. You made me laugh at something but I can't for the life of me remember.

There were other things too.......ah well it must have been a lie, so my mother would say!

Sounds lovely cwta and about time and all. Just as well you didnt buy that sofa you had your eye on, your going to need some serious spending money ;) Just realised, what will we do without you when you are off on your travels

  • Ah, te place I go to in the Scillys has internet access and Cousin in States is IT, so I won't be away from t'web long. Don't think I coud survive otherwise!

LW, I love Celtic Cross work. I have a dream to make a bedcover from Crewelwork fabric, but as it's £24.99 a metre in the sale, it's not happening anytime soon.

Kass, you had a nice time - good! Family can upset you in a way no-one else can - they instinctively know all the right buttons to push. I have patches of excema under my arms which come up when I'm over-tired or stressed, so I always keep Hydrocortisone handy.

    seaside - how's Sharon doing?

Paw is healing - ta muchly. Silly how much it makes me struggle. You have to get creative in how you wash etc.

I made myself feel all poorly - too many fags and cups of black coffee combined with nothing to eat and a very hot bath has made me feel all headachey, sickly and shaky, so I need to find something easy to eat. You would think would have learned by now!
Anyone doing anything fun for valentines?

Mr LW is taking me to the Robin Hood, our favourite pub. Landlord Reg always puts on a lovely menu for Valentines Night, decorates the tables, the whole works. And because we go there a lot, he knows my mobility problems and other peculiarities, so I don't feel as awkward as I would going somewhere else.

  • Hi everyone, I have been reading all your posts here, so thought I would pop in and say hello:) i had to take early retirement from my job nearly three years ago after a bad accident (on way to work) and three months later was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I am glad I have found this thread as I don't know anyone else who has this illness and I feel so alone with it at times. I also have osteo arthritis(many years now) but am blessed with having a very supportive husband, who is lovely. This illness has so many parts to it, and the part I find the worst is the foggy brain. It is awful. I will pop on here more often now and thank you to whoever started this.xx
