Hi everyone, I have been reading all your posts here, so thought I would pop in and say hello:) i had to take early retirement from my job nearly three years ago after a bad accident (on way to work) and three months later was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I am glad I have found this thread as I don't know anyone else who has this illness and I feel so alone with it at times. I also have osteo arthritis(many years now) but am blessed with having a very supportive husband, who is lovely. This illness has so many parts to it, and the part I find the worst is the foggy brain. It is awful. I will pop on here more often now and thank you to whoever started this.xx
wellcome to our happy little group.:o

Mr LW is taking me to the Robin Hood, our favourite pub. Landlord Reg always puts on a lovely menu for Valentines Night, decorates the tables, the whole works. And because we go there a lot, he knows my mobility problems and other peculiarities, so I don't feel as awkward as I would going somewhere else.
thats sweet, did he book it?

Hi Helibee, welcome to the loonie bin! Hope you stick around.

Suep, hope you feel better soon. I'm suffering today. Overdid it yesterday then had a fight with my Dad. No fists of course but he always manages to upset me in a way no-one else can  Woke up this morning and feel terrible, my psoriasis has really flared up too.

On the up-side. I had a really good time at the group yesterday. I was a bit nervous as I thought it might be a bit like group therapy and I'm not really a sharer :D I can on here but not face to face and I tend to be quite flippant. Anyway, they were lovely and it was more like friends meeting for a coffee and a chat. It was very amusing too as we were all foggy and the conversations of "you know them things that you get........you know........them things!.......and you put them on a thingy *hand gesture*" were all really funny :rotfl: I felt right at home :D

I picked up some really good info and advice too. One of them is going to find out about young carers groups in Leeds for me through the woman who runs the one her child goes to. Does anyone know how to get a wheelchair? Is it through your doctor or what?

Ooh LW, I had such a terrible dream last night/this morning. My nightmares are so vivid I actually get really shaken up from them. This one actually had me wake up feeling pain in my arm where I had been slashed with a knife, I mean there was actual physical pain there  How weird is that

CWTA, I have lost what I was going to say to you. You made me laugh at something but I can't for the life of me remember.

There were other things too.......ah well it must have been a lie, so my mother would say!

    xxxx
sometime you can i have a rel pain and it comes part of your dream. not joking cuz iv had them lots of times.???

Welcome Margaret you'll find this a happy thread.

Saffie well done on writing to your hubby. I do so hope things start to improve for the two of you now. I'd almost forgotten, but Mr LW went through a period of fearing that I'd break. I had to reassure him that I wouldn't, and that I'd say if something was uncomfortable, and we'd work out a way around it together. I wish you all the best - hey, do something nice together tomorrow.;)
Oh yes - Mr LW did indeed book the table at the Robin Hood. He wants us to get a taxi so that we can enjoy a bottle of bubbly.:o

I'm glad CwtA mentioned Valentines - I hadn't quite got my head around the fact that it's tomorrow (I have a problem with passage-of-time stuff iyswim) so I've quickly made a card on Microsoft Publisher - found a lovely pic of two dragons in the form of a heart online, and put a few stick-on embellishments on.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Aaaaw Saffie I'm so pleased for you. :j Kudos on the dream thing  I had an "Aaaah yes" moment when I read that. a bit like if you fall asleep with the t.v. on and whatever is on becomes part of your dream.

I remember what I was laughing at earlier. It was the comment made about CwtA and the finger thing. Think it was s/e that made it. Glad to hear it's healing nicely. I'm not doing anything for valentines. We don't have the money for even a card so I will probably watch OH fall asleep in front of telly then try in vain to wake him up before throwing a blanket on him and skulking off to bed. Usual Saturday night routine really! What are you up to? Did you say? I might actually do something for myself! My eldest got some bath cake thingymawotsit from Lush at christmas and gave me a snowman one yesterday so I might run a bath with all my candles and that stuff and just treat myself!

Hooray raeh :T Get some well deserved lie ins. All the other mum's complain about the school hol's but I love it cos I don't have to drag my fat behind out of bed so early! Plastic spoons :rotfl:

That's good LW. I'm glad you've found a place where you can feel comfortable and relax.

Love and stuff to Sharon, looking forward to her return!

And last but not least, welcome Margaret  Glad you've joined us. It can be very isolating and scary at times but I'm sure you'll find this motley crew a god(s) send when you feel that way. I found the fog to be the worst before but now I have learnt to laugh at myself. I hope you can learn this too. I am starting to realise that there are so many people out there with this. More than I thought so it must be that it isn't talked about enough. You should check to see if there is a support group in your area. i was surprised how many there are. It's not everybodies cup of tea though so I hope you don't think I'm trying to tell you what to do. I just didn't know so many things until I started meeting others online so want to make sure you know things too. It might ease the lonely feeling.

Hope everyone has a peaceful night.

I've had a nice lazy day and am feeling more relaxed now, thanks for all the kind messages.

Saffie Im glad you've sorted things out with OH, us fibromites dont cope well with stress.

Kass I called social services years ago and asked for an OT (occupational therapist) assessment, an OT came to my house, checked it over and decided what aids I needed to make things easier and got me a wheelchair amongst other things like a rail by the shower and loo etc. It was a few years ago though so I dont know if things have changed, Im sure someone else will know, if not ask you gp. Im glad you enjoyed your group, it sounds much nicer than my local one, I dont go anymore but am still a member and get the monthly magazines.

Margaret Welcome to our group, the brain fog can be really scary but also like someone else said funny too, I think you have to learn to laugh it off as much as possible.

raeh enjoy half term and dont forget to rest ;)

cwta phew, I think we all breathed a sigh of relief whe you said you will still be able to use t'internet when your away :D it wouldnt be the same without you hun.

    Hi my merry gang!

    Welcome Helibee and Margaret

I've missed you all and have used the opportunity of dropping sister (come over from Israel) off at older sisters (45miles away) to nip up to nephew's room and use the computer :D

Just wanted to say hi really and to fill you in on my last GP visit (yesterday). Unfortunately to take the Sibutramide (sp?) for the weight loss I have to stop taking the Pregabalin/Lyrica and can't up the dose of Amt-on-a-trampoline cos they're worried about CNS (Central Nervous System toxicity) :( This left me in a quandry, but if it's true what they're telling me about weight loss over the 35BMI threshold then there doesn't appear to be any other options... So I kind of had to go with it on the assumption that I'm just gonna have to suffer the pain for the next x number of months that I'm on it :( I think the worst bit will be these 2 weeks where I have to taper off my Pregabalin use whilst not actually taking the Sibutramide, cos it'll feel like I'm suffering the pain for nothing, iyswim? Ahh...it's never easy is it? :( I'm worried that I'm not going to be able to function well enough to plan the wedding properly etc and I'm worried that I don't know how much weight I might lose, or how quickly, so I have no idea what size dress to order either..? I've only started cutting down the Pregabalin dose since yesterday afternoon and I can already feel the pain in the middle of my back/shoulder blades :(

Anyway, sorry guys, I didn't mean to come on and moan, but maybe you have something to add that I haven't thought of..?

Thanks for making me smile re the wedding jibes too ;) And Happy Anniversary Unity!

    Just as a wee reminder...
    I get married 7 months today!!!! :j :T

    ;)
    Happy Valentines Day all :D
