I officially hate families! Harsh, some might say but they can be so petty at times!

I cba with XOH family who try and be nice to my face when I know for a fact how they feel about me. I would find it nice if I thought they were trying to put first impressions behind and make amends but it is soooo false and I really don't do false. I come across as agressive at times (so I'm told :o) but you always know where you stand with me and I appreciate the same in my friends.

I fell out with my mums sister after my mum died, yet never fell out with her iyswim. I found out that she said something horrendous about me but couldn't say anything as I would bring the person who told me into the firing line so I just stopped making the effort. She didn't take much discouraging as ever since she has sent both my sisters and sisters kids birthday/xmas cards/presents but not mine. Sometimes I think families just aren't worth it. My friends (although it has taken me a long time to weed out the good oones!) are the ones who I respect and would never be without.

XXOH (my first kids dad) family used to cringe because I'm not very well spoken but now they say that at least they knew where they stood with me and kind of appreciate my forthrightness in light of his choice of partner after me! :D

    Smug? Me? Never!!!!

Ditto. I've been told I'm aggressive, rude even, harsh, etc...but you know what - to the people who really know me, they know I'd do anything for anyone in need, and that I'm honest and just expect honesty. I have learnt over time how to be more tactful perhaps, but I know when to, and when not to, beat about the bush.;) It didn't pay to be nambypamby with the jobs I was doing anyway, so I didn't let the reactions of people I worked with/over to bother me really. And the people I saw out of work realised how different I was in "real life".

Takes some working out sometimes doesn't it? The tsunami and how they dealt with/supported me through that and the death of my XOH should've been enough, but the illnesses/condition(s) I'm now in have been the final nail in a few friendship coffins.

  • families an indeed be petty, sometimes harshness is justified. at least we can choose our friends, weeding the good form the not so good is hard though.
  • Well, I'm up, but not dressed - does it still count?

I agree with flamin' families - part of the trouble with them is they know youso well, they know which buttons to push.

I just know I'm gonna be achey tonight and tomorrow as I have to load the car with some more boxes and hide them in the Tack Shed - Dad's wife would go mad if she knew they were there *g* Talk about territorial!
It's sunny here - hope it is with you.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

    But of course :D

I've just got dressed. This is supposed to be "our day" as it's the only day that DF deffo doesn't work. He only got home from work last night at 20 to 2am. :( He takes a while to wind down from it too and wanted a bite to eat and to watch some Green Wing so it was about 4am when we got to bed. Didn't get to church this morning...again. :( His bluddy mother rang at 1.30pm ish and started telling him off for still being asleep  "what are you gonna do when you've got kids?" - what a stupid question!! For a start he won't be working two jobs then and won't be working several nights a week that would mean he'd never see em... for a second, the answer is "look after them!!". For a 3rd the next answer is "what is SHE going to do when we've got kids?" cos we won't be bluddy running round after her every 3 seconds! Grrr  The real purpose of her call was, again, to ring for more supply-gathering for her. It is apparently absolutely impossible for her to do a weekly shop that actually consists of what she needs in a week. How hard is it to freeze a loaf every week? Really?? Her idea of sticking to her £50 food budget (per week for only one person) is to not buy anything on her weekly food shop and just get DF to run round during the week for all the stuff she needed (plus other bits she doesn't) but didn't buy in the first place! And if it's not food supplies, it's frickin cigs (even though we've explained to her numerous times that she just can't afford it) and the state her health's in (she has every joy that comes along with poorly managed diabetes) it really can't take the constant barrage. She tried saying that she only has 20 a week now! That's a bluddy larff!! More like 20 for the first two days of the week, 20 for the next two etc...and that's only if she's not managed to scrounge some in the meantime. She's rung DF every day this week to go and get her something or the other. I'm sure it's manipulation to see him, but we've tried telling her to ring when she doesn't just want something and we've tried arranging nights/days to see her and make proper time for her and it just doesn't work. It's driving us mad, and she's taking the peess!

So now DF's dutifully gone out to get the supplies and to have words with her. Which means that it'll be gone 4 by the time he gets back and the afternoon will've slipped away. I've not had a proper night in with him all week. :(

    Vent over. For now.

But yes, Cwta, the sun is shining. Suppose I should be grateful for small mercies ;) Course it means that the number of dandelions that have fought their way back through the lawn has doubled...

Parents still aren't speaking to me and I'm still peessed off that my sister is trying to arrange a wedding for the same time as mine.

Sorry, did I say vent was over? Silly me!

venting is good for you! maybe df (or you) needs to refuse to go for her one day, arrange to go the next day instead but dont go every single time she asks on the day she asks if that makes sense. but only if you can stand the temper tantrum type things she will throw in.

and as for your sister, well id be peeed off big time too.

its lovely and sunny here too, nice for a change.

I do and have refused to bend to her every will and whim. I'm then painted the bad guy. I won't offer to take her to appts either (which didn't go down well in the beginning) as she used to just assume, so I make her ask now :D I tell DF off for going every time she asks. It used to be that we'd be away for the weekend or something and she'd ring and say she'd run out of fags and he'd be like wanting to set off for home so he could sort it out, or he'd be ringing friends to help her out.

I wouldn't even mind sooo much (who am I trying to kid? ;)) if it was a real wedding! But it's really just a glorified party cos they're doing the legal bit fairly soon across the border! (She can't get married there cos she's not Jewish) Grrr

I love Asda Meemee, I've only just realised you can buy the clothes on the website, you never used to, trouble is everything I liked the look of was out of order so maybe its better to go into the shop.
I've never spent that much on bras, but the ones in M&S are lovely, it could be easily done.

Asda is brill for clothes always get jeans from there, when they have my size in, never thought about ordering things on line I always have a look to see what they in and that's where I found the dress and couldn't believe they had it in in my size and it fitted.......my friend nearly fainted when I told her as I am not a dress person and don't thnk I've owned one for about 20 yrs (god that makes me sound old :o)
Update on bra's woke up this morning and was slightly more with it and it actually sunk in how much i'd spent on them so decided to take 2 off them back. I wasn't with it much when got measured and just acepted the ones the lady got for me, that'll teach me to try and be clever and go shopping when full up on medication

Hope all are enjoying sun, while it's here icon7.gif
