  • Just dropped reference forms etc back at Letting Agent and managed to negotiate a reduction in the rent for paying 6 months rent up front. It wouldn't earn me anything like that in either interest or income, so I'm chuffed.
Well done that woman! That'll help the finances in the long term.
s/e, do you just pop on to kick my arris every now and again?! I can actually pace myself packing up as it means I can avoid general housework, washing up and clearing the kitchen and still feel virtuous. *g*
    Who me?

  • hi hope you dont mind me popping in but ive had fibro for seven years , and have just been a lurker .lol [thats sounds so creepy lol] and i think you ideas are brill but im sure some one will come along and say join a fibro forum if that what you . want . . p.s ive done nothing but eat over the last few days.
Welcome gone4gold. It's always nice to see more posters.

I would only add that a lot of us on this thread don't actually have fibro so I'm not sure that we'd be welcome on a specifically fibro board. Apart from that - I'm already struggling to keep up with the boards I am active on, without adding more.

  • I sorted out some cd's during the week and came across Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Holsts Planet Suite and a couple of Requiem Masses
Some are very soothing, but not enough to give me a kick up the arris and get moving.
What you need for kick up the arris music is a mix of Motzart and Beethoven - I can't recall the specific bits this early in the morning, but some of it really gets the old blood moving. Especially good when you need help with things like mowing the lawn.

If you're interested, I'll sort out the ones that work for me and let you know. Come to that, if I've got duplicates I'll happily send you some.

[Look, I did say there was going to be a deluge of posts while I did some catching up.]

  • i think it was smart, only arty/crafty thing i watched and was only for morph because i loved him.
Wasn't the one with Tony Hart and Morph, Vision On? Or was there another one with them after that. I know there was one called Art Attack (different presenter), but it didn't appeal to me in the way that VO did.

Oh, and in no relation to anything else that's been posted in the past couple of days - the reason I've not spent much time around recently is partly getting over mowing the lawn 2 days in a row, and partly that I'm learning how to knit a pair of socks and it's taking a lot of concentration. But I'm determined to keep going 'til I've got a pair of 'em - even if they're not wearable when I've finished.

  • s/e, nice to see you. Guess everyone may be getting socks for Xmas if you get the knack?!
If you get a chance with the music, lovely, but don't make a special effort on my part. Believe me, I'm not worth it *g*.
I hope you get to a point where you can sit and enjoy the lawn without having to mow it. Even if it is Halloween by then *g*.

Okay folks, stand by for a deluge of posts while I catch up. ;)

Rae - I do understand, honestly I do, but didn't your last lot of tests show some abnormalities? If you don't go back to see your GP she won't be able to investigate further.

How do you know that you're not now becoming more symptomatic of something that is just starting to show in your bloods (sorry, convuluted sentence there, I'm still not properly awake)? Not that I want to worry you, but it's always possible that you've (or anyone) has been mid-diagnosed. I certainly was - more than once. I was diagnosed with having ME for years - 'cept according to my now Rheumy (and it took 3 referrals before I got to see a Rheumy cos I was always sent for X-rays first and because there was no visible joint damage they didn't bother investigating further), ME doesn't present with the level of abnormal blood tests that I was having.

And you are not a fraud! All that's happened is that your doc has yet to get to the bottom of it! If she makes you feel that bad, is there any chance of changing docs? Yes, I know that's always easier said than done, but you do have the right to see a different doc if there's no way you can develop a 'therapeutic relationship' with the one you're seeing now.

    Hear hear!!!

s/e, I do envy you. There is no way I'd be able to reply to so many. I find it hard to keep one thought in my head!

Who was it who said they wrote things down? I did try that but got confused at my notes :D

With the network thing I suggested. I didn't mean for Fibro's in particular. I meant for us only, to share things like photo's and the like and maybe chat in realtime if we are online at the same time. It was only a suggestion, I thought it may make things easier for sharing.

Welcome gone4gold, glad you found us!

Well, T/S has already asked me to knit him a pair when I've got the hang of it. We shall see - this 'ere knitting with 4 needles takes a bit of getting used to.

As for the blasted lawn - I went back to B&Q to get some bigger pots for my lavendar seedlings, and &ugger me if now they've got weed an' feed that doesn't cause the grass to go berserk! Bluddy typical.

And yes you are worf it - if I say so. So there!

Oh yeah,s/e, I forgot (see what I mean about keeping thoughts in my head!). I don't think it was Vision On. I was thinking Art Attack but thought maybe they continued it with a different presenter (the guy with the spiky blond hair). I was sure it had something to do with his surname (hart) but maybe I'm making it up!?!

I have taken up knitting but I haven't a clue how to make anything so atm I'm just knitting in lines on the pretence of making a scarf for DS2's doll :D

'Tis nowhere near as clever as it looks, I assure you. What are you using to access the internet? (You see, there's a much simpler way to ask that question, but I'm blowed if I can remember the word I want.)

If it's IE 7 or beyond, then if you right click the quote button to the reply you want to quote, you'll get a pop up box with the option to open the link in a new tab or window (I use new tab). That way you can keep a tab open for all the posts you want to reply to. As you reply to each post, you then close the tab 'til you're back to just one tab open and you know you've replied to everyone.

I think you can do the same with firefox but I don't like it much as it runs much more slowly on my pc and won't scroll smoothly like IE does.
