'Tis nowhere near as clever as it looks, I assure you. What are you using to access the internet? (You see, there's a much simpler way to ask that question, but I'm blowed if I can remember the word I want.)

If it's IE 7 or beyond, then if you right click the quote button to the reply you want to quote, you'll get a pop up box with the option to open the link in a new tab or window (I use new tab). That way you can keep a tab open for all the posts you want to reply to. As you reply to each post, you then close the tab 'til you're back to just one tab open and you know you've replied to everyone.

I think you can do the same with firefox but I don't like it much as it runs much more slowly on my pc and won't scroll smoothly like IE does.

Ah, I don't have tabs. I thought that was to do with the computer you were using as my other comp had tabs on it. Does that mean I can download it then?

I have taken up knitting but I haven't a clue how to make anything so atm I'm just knitting in lines on the pretence of making a scarf for DS2's doll :D
If you know how to knit and purl, then in reality you could make a simple jumper or cardigan. Most patterns (go for the ones that write the pattern out rather than give you a chart and leave you to work it out for yourself) will give full instructions - up to and including how to work any stitches that aren't plain knit or purl.

Trust me - I pretty much taught myself how to knit having learned how to cast on, knit and purl from the instructions in the pattern. Don't expect perfection first time round and it's amazing what you can achieve.

Oh, and don't watch American videos on how to knit - they have a weird way of holding the needles and the yarn and make it far harder than it needs to be.

    If you follow this link

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloadS/details.aspx?familyid=9AE91EBE-3385-447C-8A30-081805B2F90B&displaylang=en

It will take you to the page for downloading IE7 for XP. If you're using Vista, then let me know and I'll see if I can find the right update for you.

IE8 is now available, but I've not moved on to that one yet - I'm afraid I wait 'til they've ironed out all the bugs before I upgrade.

    :rotfl::rotfl:Thanks for sending it in!!!!!

What was that programme called with Morph and Tony Hart??

Sorry suep, it just sounded in my head like you were a presenter on tv............it tickled me anyway :D
Wondered what you were laughing at then for a mo!! Are you, perhaps, thinking of HartBeat Kass? Morph did appear in little sections of Art Attack (which was presented by Neil Buchanan, the blonde spikey hair guy is from SmArt.

I'm gonna get that bz, it might get ds1 off guitar hero for a bit. She came to visit me the other day and spent four hours on the thing getting rather wound up with herself and trying to get it perfect. Don't know where she gets her competetive streak from
I don't promise that it'll be any less frustrating! The cheapest real place we found it was £19 in Asda.

    Hi gone4gold

Are you guys mad with your "soothing" classical music??
[churchill voice on] Oooh no, no, no, no, no [churchill voice off]

I can't think what else I shoulda/coulda/woulda said so I think I'll wake up DF as he has to be in work at 4 :(

Maybe it's being left handed but I find the American videos on YouTube quite easy to follow. I just learned this week how to do the German double twisted cast on :D.

I'm not even going to attempt to catch-up  as I'm still struggling which is why I haven't been around. I spent two and a half hours at my doc's on Tuesday then he wanted to see me again on Thursday. I've had blood tests and swabs of my shingles blisters taken and am on the highest dose Aciclovir five times a day:o. Dear doc has badgered me into seeing a neurologist as he thinks some of the symptoms may just be coincidental with the shingles. Loss of balance and blackouts/lost time are a bit worrying, but my bp is okay. I had terrible booming noises in my left ear during the night and this morning I am deaf (despite my hearing aid) - it's like having my head underwater!

Worst thing was of course S/E I had to miss the 'Stitch and !!!!! Female Dog' on Thursday evening - doubly annoying as last week they had half-price cake :T.

I hope everyone else is as well as they can be, that the weather is being kind (it's overcast here :() and that you all have a good weekend.

    Luv,
    Unity

Hi Unity, nice to see you again. Hope they get you sorted out quicksticks!

And, not to worry, the only thing you missed was my invites/stationary getting done ;):D (I'll send you the guest password)

I'm left handed too, but the way they hold the yarn in the left hand and then use the working needle to pick up the working thread, rather than holding the yarn in the right hand and using the middle finger to hook the yarn round the working needle just looks so awkward to me. But, each to their own as they say.

Ooh, bad news. As I understand it - shingles can take a very long time to clear up. All you can do is take it easy 'til it does. 'Ave an 'ug anyway.

They say that shingles never completely goes away. I had shingles in my late teens, as did my bro, and they reckon that if you get severely run down then you risk the shingles coming back...not necessarily with the rash...

I'm having a sit as I pulled out the cooker and cleaned it, all around it and the floor beneath it. I deserve a sit.

This packing and cleaning is getting old pretty quick today
