I should think you do deserve a sit after all that cleaning careful, I feel faint at the thought of it all ;)

Im having my ramp built outside today, thank goodness its dry today, he's nearly finished, but I dont know how long the cement will take to dry. Before I can use it though I need a threshold ramp, we've got a UPVC door and they have thse ledges at the bottom so I need a small ramp indoors to get up and over it, I've found some online but they start at around £60  its a lot on top of what we've already spent on the scooter, so it might have to wait a couple of weeks unless I can get one on ebay.

Im off to Mums in a min, she rang last night pannicking about her computer, shes got AVG and she keeps getting the update message, but they want you to pay for the update, I told her I'd disconnect (not sure if thats the right word) and re-connect it so she can start again, she hasnt got a clue about computers and just uses it to email her sister and play cards mainly

Hope you all having a good weekend

If you know how to knit and purl, then in reality you could make a simple jumper or cardigan. Most patterns (go for the ones that write the pattern out rather than give you a chart and leave you to work it out for yourself) will give full instructions - up to and including how to work any stitches that aren't plain knit or purl.

Trust me - I pretty much taught myself how to knit having learned how to cast on, knit and purl from the instructions in the pattern. Don't expect perfection first time round and it's amazing what you can achieve.

Oh, and don't watch American videos on how to knit - they have a weird way of holding the needles and the yarn and make it far harder than it needs to be.

Well it never gave me an option to open another tab but thanks so much for the link  The screen looks clearer too for some reason and I can always open another tab and scroll through so it's much easier.

I don't know how to purl. I shall try and find some diagrams. I'm not much a fan of the kind of knits that are made for babies but I've seen some lovely cardi's and I love me cardi's me. Long ones with big (see what I did there? I'm getting so clever!) buttons. Can't beat a good cardi :D

I'm a cack hander too Unity. I can only knit one way so I have to swap hands every time I get to the end of a line. Is that what everybody does? I don't know what the norm is!

bz, you are absolutely right! I was thinking that but kept thinking I must be wrong as Heart Beat is a soap :D Kudos on the knowledge of childrens presenters/programmes :T

as for tabs and browsers, the whole reason i first got firefox was because it had tabbed browsing when ie didnt, then i fell in love with firefox and onyl ever use ie for msn games if i cant find the games i want elsewhere. i like all the customisations i can make to it, for example my forward/back/home etc buttons are cats :D

kass a place just for us might be nice, but then i suspect we would end up not posting here and i think that would be sad for any lurkers/newbies who might chime in occasionally. for talking in real time if a few of us are online at the same time try msn messenger? you can set it up with any email nowadays.
  • I downloaded Firefox sometime ago, but haven't played around with it too much yet. On this steam driven lappie, I've got IE7. Tried IE8, but it was useless - conflicted with everything under the sun and kept freezing and crashing. Must admit tabbed browser screens are ace - much easier if you want to look something up to add to an email and for checking spellings *g*
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

hello all :) its been a busy day so im not even going to attempt to remember what everyone said *g* but at least its lovely and sunny

s/e [and the rest of the naggers] i will make an appointment this week as i need to go for some thing else anyway but re: the blood tests she just said they weren't quite 'normal' but then didnt show enough to point to anything or warrant more tests after the 2nd lot they did? Thats why i saide its 'just' the fibro and to carry on as i was with meds  maybe i'm just wrong inthinking theres something else and that fibro cant possibly make me feel as ill as it does?

we have been out to collect some koi today from a friend of a friend who wanted rid of them and when we got there they are 3, 18 inch/2 foot long koi  worth a bloody fortune!! i decided to get some guppys too, i know they are a bit of a basic tropical fish but i want to try breeding babies :D and they are easy ones to start with.

unity good to see you :D i hope you start to feel better soon xxx i sometimes get a booming noise at night in my ears, like a really loud heart beat and i drive dh mad waking him to ask if its me or can he hear it too :o

Thanks for the game suggestion BZ, I went to shop on Monday and stood there for about half an hour not knowing what to buy......

Got a bargain today and want to tell as many people as I can, nipped into asda for shopping and ended up buying lovely black and white summer dres for £8, going to christening in 2 weeks it's perfect :T but then went to M&S to be measured for bra's and spent £61

I love Asda Meemee, I've only just realised you can buy the clothes on the website, you never used to, trouble is everything I liked the look of was out of order so maybe its better to go into the shop.
I've never spent that much on bras, but the ones in M&S are lovely, it could be easily done.

No worries :D That game deserves some recognition ;) As for the dress etc - maybe if you think about the prices being the other way it might be a bit more palatable?? £61 is extortion though and my eyes went like this  but now I've reread it maybe you got more than one :o

Auntie Axe I hereby permit you to have a sit ;)

Raeh get on with it, we'll be hounding ;)

PCL I agree with you about the "special place" (sounds a bit lurid that, doesn't it? :rotfl:) that although I like the idea Kass messenger or something similar may be the way to go. Which reminds me, pcl, I took your messenger thing a while ago but added it to a messenger I never use, so you shall prolly be getting an invite from the "real" one...when I remember...obv ;)

Suep I know what you mean about "disconnecting" (uninstalling) and reconnecting (installing) AVG and am about to do it myself...that is when I stop having to set up my laptop in the study so I can keep printing flipping invite envelopes

Sister (next one up from me who "wants to steal my thunder") has just called from Israel to tell me that she's officially engaged now! :j That's great, downside is she's talking about having her wedding reeeeeeeeally close to mine. In Israel. Sense the tone.
Looks like we'll have to get saving for the flights as well as everything else

In other news *g* I've now finished doing 88 Order of Service covers (apart from the delicate butterfly on top which I don't think would survive the next 4 odd months) so feel rather proud of myself and I think I also deserve a sit. :D In fact I may even just go for a full on lie, as my back is now aching.

I've still not heard from my parents, who will definitely have got the invite by now, and got back from Israel on Tuesday (they normally ring within a couple of days of landing back), and I think they've taken the 'ump about the wording (breaking with ettiquette as it says "Together with their families" rather than "Mr and Mrs Suchabody invite you to the wedding of"). Me and DF will be rather peessed off if they have and they're trying the not speaking to me routine, but I'll also be peessed off if they have received it and haven't rung to say how lovely it is!! I'm well within my rights, don't you think? (I just explained all that to my sister who just got engaged and she said "you never told me that!" so that she can't be blamed for doing the same thing! :rotfl:)

DF's been at work since 4 and I've done all the Order of Services and now I'm officially bored.

  • Brain almost completely fried after a day of activity but, yes, you have every right to be peeved at your M&D, bz. Shame on them.

Ok DF's still not home and I've still not eaten. I'm bored beyond belief. To the point where I've actually read through pages of a sister of mine's thread's on here (a DFW diary) and checked my email about 17 times.

    Bored. Bored. Bored.

Oh and I want chocolate. Lots of it.
