Hi all, feeling a bit disheartened, have had a second rejection letter from Lloyds TSB. I believe I was mis-sold PPI as I was told in no uncertain terms by the seller that I would be turned down for the loan unless I took out the PPI. The loan is now paid off, and I have written to Lloyds twice with my complaint which they have rejected, it seems to be very much my word against theirs. I have now threatened the FOS. Should I continue or am I wasting my time now. Many thanks. :confused:no way don't give up all of us on here will support you ask the lloyds for a final reply, then take it to the fos, best of luck, sharon666

I can't believe just how crafty these companies are! I have been writing here on behalf of my partner who had a £15k loan 2 1/2 years ago with Halifax (for a 3 year loan). They added £6k to the loan advance, which appears to be PPI premium, and they have been adding interest monthly on the WHOLE amount it seems!!!! None of their paper work is clear with figures. Our claim of mis selling is due to my partner now being unemployed and them saying he needs to close his company as he was self employed (which, in their terms is decided upon by what class of NI he has been paying, self employed = class 2, employed = class 1), he has been paying class 1 as discussed when he negotiated the loan originally. Its infuriating.

    Hello there.

May I ask how far you are actually in this reclaim?
    Cheers.;)

  • Cahoot FlexiLoan PPI claim.

I am claiming this back from about 6-7 years ago. Abbey have written to me asking to speed up the process and ring me for further details tomorrow. Typical Flexi-loan situ - I didn't ask for it or want it, but the box was auto selected on the webpage online. I had barely any info on this, thought it was compulsory; thus would never have took it out. I did complain over the phone 2 years ago and this was dismissed so I thought I had no right to claim back.

I see there have been successes re Cahoot Loans on here re; PPI.

I used the standard stage 1 letter and have had a fast response to it (Ty MSE ;), and will keep this thread posted re; progress. Fingers crossed! :money:

  • Hi
    Its me again!
This will come as no surprise but I got a letter from Lloyds TSB yesterday saying basically that because I hadn't given them any new evidence then they weren't going to overturn the original decision to only offer me £1700 (instead of £5500). Case closed and go to the Ombudsman if I am not happy!
I don't know what evidence they want apart from - I am a midwife so unlikely to be made redundant, NHS pays sick pay at fullpay for 6 months and why would I take out ppi for a 7 year loan if it only covers me for 5 years.

What are the chances of me getting any further with the ombudsman? should I just go for it as Lloyds are presuming I will just curl up and die.

Once again I will appreciate any words of wisdom and encouragement.

    Hi Vickie

I am sure you will do okay through the FOS, you can ring to arrange them to send you a complaint form or download and print the form from their website here.
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

I have been successful through the FOS against lloyds and recently so have my hubby, so you will be okay Vickie, remember to enclose a copy of your final letter from Lloyds as well, good luck and please keep us posted.;)

Hi Putty, hope your well hun.;)

How old is your loan ppi with Barclays putty?

I don't think it really matters how old they are now to be honest, as many have still been successful in reclaiming PPI from the 1990's.

I'm sure there have been much success with both.

I've not had any with Barclays myself, or not reclaimed on any overdraft protection, but am sure I have read on here many have.
One of mine was a Lloyds TSB credit card ppi case from a 2001 policy and that one was successful through the FOS, and recently my hubby won his case as well, from a 2001 credit card ppi mis sell.

We do have a few ongoing with Lloyds at the moment, this time on the loan ppi.;)

    Hi Di

The loan ended early in 2007 so not that old. I have quite a high overdraft with them so it would be good to clear it if sucessful on both counts as I wont be a ble to get it on a CCA issue. Generally confused with the CCA and letters, but taking good advice from Never in Doubt. BCard have just scrambled my brain with there response, but need to find lead and power pack for scanner to post response on here. Can't find it anywhere!!!
    Cheers Putty
