  • Hi all,

Could anyone please advise me how PPI works for credit cards. Do the banks include (or hide) PPI fees within their monthly interest calculations or is it sold seperately ?

    Thanks

    Hi there

Just like loan ppi, it is commonly known that PPI was added to credit cards, and the same for store cards, catalogues, car finance and so on.

Check the link below of Martin's reclaiming guide, its very useful, with a checklist of mis selling reasons, template letters and so on, when you write to reclaim, post your letters by recorded delivery.
This is your proof of posting.

If you have any statements check them, the account number is shown in the statements, so when you write to them you obviously write that actualy account number.
Do you still have the agreements?

Good luck with this, shout up if you require any help from here.;)

Thanks for the advise. However, I am still a little confused. With my credit cards, I have had to pay a few late payment fees (which I have succesfully claimed back) together with associated interest charges. Do the interest charges include PPI fees ? Many thanks.

    Your welcome.;)

In regards of charges etc, keep this separate to the PPI, sorry I should have mentioned this to you on my earlier post.

PPI and charges and normally treated separately, so for the charges/fees etc, post on the reclaim banking and credit card charges thread, hope this helps you, this way you will get all what your entitled too and nothing is gone amiss.

    Evening all

Could I have some quick advice here please. Today I received from Barclays my data info. Delivered DhL and the time taken to put it together, it must have cost them ha ha. Sorry to the point. It tells me what I needed to know in that I had a loan with them, now ended, but in the payment column it gives the loan amount and the sum of the PPI. What I need to know is,does this mean it was added as a single premium and then interest was charged on it? The loan was settled early and I recieved a part refund so I assume it does but could do with some help as I want to get the letter off tomorrow as it is worth a lot.

It is also worth pointing out that in other claims against barclays owned companies, the complaints log refers to a 4 week holding letter everytime. I guess they like to sit on it doing nothing for 4 weeks, so in my letter I have told them not to bother with this response.

    Help please?

putty, did it give you a seperate monthly payment for the PPi and the loan.

I'm not sure, but if it gives a seperate monthly payment, I don't think this is a single premium. I thought with SP's, it didn't show it seperately:confused: Think its SP if it only shows one repayment figure

    e.g. Loan amount £10,000
    mthly pment 100

    PPI amount £3000
    mthly pment 50

    total mthly pment £150.00

If this makes sense. I think if it shows like this it is not single premium:confused:Our SP with Picture just showed as Loan amount, plus PPI amount and it gave just one monthly payment, but I think if it shows 2 mthly pments it is two loans

    Hi putty.

I cant offer advice as such as im just at the FOS complaint stage.

But I got all my data (mostly a big pile of rubbish) and i had a statement included from the beginning of the loan.

I did have single premium and it states:

date of loan with the amount of the actual loan then underneath it has insurance premium with amount of PPI then you can quite clearly see it was added to the loan amount. then its just interest and direct debits.

Is this what yours is like?

mine says insurance premium 5537 as a payment and barclays serv c9 whatever that is as 23500, obviously the loan. In the receipts column it has one figure only as 435, nothig seperate for ppi.
This makes me think it is a single payment, but what I do not want to do is use this in the letter and they reject it.
I have quoted the usual things to in the letter like getting it cheaper elsewhere, them being fined and not being advised, but as I said earlier it is a hefty amount to lose.

Cmon Di where are you when I need help???????
