  • Hi,

Have recently written to HFC for mis-sold PPI which they have agreed to pay me back £1347.49 in final settlement including interest and cancel the PPI. This letter was sent 12/10/09 & I have yet to receive the funds back & my loan payments (only 3 months left to pay!) still have the PPI on them which they have agreed to send a separate payment whilst they restructure the loan. I have made a total of 8 phone calls to them and they still cannot say when the funds will be transferred to my account or when the restructure of the loan will be completed? All I get is they have a backlog of 4 months (Not interested in this excuse!) and cannot say when it will be completed.........is there anything else I can do to speed this up as they just seem to be stalling or just completely useless!

    Regards

    Macca

    Hi Macca and welcome.

Write them a quick letter and request they send you "your refund" by 14 days maximum, then go on to say you need your money, and if you don't receive this by your timescale you will take it further such as with the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) to also seek redress for distress whilst waiting for your refund.
Hope this helps Macca, good luck and hope you receive your money soon, please keep us posted.
    Cheers.

Hi Guys, just need some motivation. I have got a claim against Loans co uk for misselling PPI, after lots of research we have got about 6 or 7 different claims for misselling from the fact that we were told we had to take it to get theloan to the fact I had a medical condition that they didnt ask about which wouldnt have been covered. We where also sold the policy during the time they where audited and subsequently fined. The 8 weeks where uplast week but they asked us to give them until the 9th December to complete their enquiries. Are they just using delaying tactics? Should I just go to the FOS anyway? The money involved is quite substantial and would make a huge difference to my family. Any ideas? Has anyone actually had a success against Loans?

    Hi there
    All the best with this.;)

I understand many have behind and have a backlog due to the large amount of complaints they've had to deal with and still dealing with, so its up to you if you want to bear it for another few days then take it from there.
Hopefully they will get back to you with a good result.;)
    Fingers crossed.

By all means you can take it to the FOS now if you want to but when you think of it the 9th won't be too long really, so its entirely up to you.
Also please be aware that the FOS also have high volumes of these complaints to deal with as well, but either way I'm sure you will be fine.

    Only have the address here:

    Name & Registered Office:
    LOANS.CO.UK LIMITED
    STANSFIELD HOUSE
    CHESTER BUSINESS PARK
    CHESTER
    CH4 9QQ
    Company No. 03391635

Did find a telephone number as well if this is the correct one, it should be, good luck.

    Tel no: 01244 672 326

Was your loan sold and arranged by loans.co.uk?

Sometimes the loans are direct with the lender or sometimes a broker is used, or maybe loans.co.uk are the broker, but whoever sold and arranged the loan is the ones to write to.;)

As soon as 8 weeks have passed, if you hear absolutely nothing, you can take your complaint to the financial ombudsman service (FOS) if you want to.

Please keep us posted, and hope you have a good outcome out of this, cheers.

Hi all, a bit of a long one.. After successfully reclaiming my charges back from Barclaycard about 2 months ago I also sent a ppi request letter and sent them the total which was £59.46, they sent a letter about 6 weeks ago asking for more info to which I did'nt reply, to cut a long story short, I have recieved a letter this morning offering me the £59.46 + the value of any interest at 26.9% to 27.9% = £11.12 + Interest added at 8% simple per year = £19.29. Making the total refund £89.87.
Should I accept this or am I entitled to 8% statutory interest applied per charge?
Any feedback would be gratefully recieved
    Many thanks

hi there, it looks like they have given you the 8%, you got your payment back plus interest on that, then you got the 8% , if i am wrong someone will put me right!
  • Hi all, feeling a bit disheartened, have had a second rejection letter from Lloyds TSB. I believe I was mis-sold PPI as I was told in no uncertain terms by the seller that I would be turned down for the loan unless I took out the PPI. The loan is now paid off, and I have written to Lloyds twice with my complaint which they have rejected, it seems to be very much my word against theirs. I have now threatened the FOS. Should I continue or am I wasting my time now. Many thanks.

you're wasting your time going back to Lloyds, just take your complaint to the FOS

the FOS have provided guidance on the calculation of the refund of credit card charges - you should check their website for how your particular cirumstances affect the calculation
