:confused:Feeling very disheartened right now. Put a misold PPI claim into Central Capital who we are paying an extortionate amount of insurance premiums to for just a 60 month period. They have declined our claim and we now have to go to the FOS. This is fine but they seem pretty confident that the sales person covered all points relevant but we are pretty sure they didn't !! This is after they have listened to recorded calls apparentley.

Is it worth fighting on and approaching the FOS if the company appear so confident ????

ps: I have also asked for my own copies of the call.

This seems to be Central Capital's approach to all PPI mis-selling complaints. I am also pursuing a mis-selling case and they have very confidently referred me to the FOS. My case file has been at the FOS for about a month now, it hasn't been allocated an adjudicator yet. I am confident they ahve mis-sold the policy to me. CC are stupid though as if the FOS rule in our favour, they are doing more damage for themselves. They may end up with a fine like other companies if they continue to dismiss our claims. Oh well we shall just have to wait and see I guess! Good luck, keep me posted on your progress and I will do the same.

P.S. what was the name of the compaints person that dealt with your complaint?

Hi all, a bit of a long one.. After successfully reclaiming my charges back from Barclaycard about 2 months ago I also sent a ppi request letter and sent them the total which was £59.46, they sent a letter about 6 weeks ago asking for more info to which I did'nt reply, to cut a long story short, I have recieved a letter this morning offering me the £59.46 + the value of any interest at 26.9% to 27.9% = £11.12 + Interest added at 8% simple per year = £19.29. Making the total refund £89.87.
Should I accept this or am I entitled to 8% statutory interest applied per charge?
Any feedback would be gratefully recieved
    Many thanks

    Hi there Kingel
I would if you can request that they send you a "full detailed written breakdown of calculations" if they have not proivided this in detail, in case anything is amiss, although they may have provided you with the above details, does it show how it was broke down?

They should send you this through the post if you request for this.
    Good luck.;)

  • Hi all,

Can anyone please advise me whether Nationwide has been fined for mis-selling PPI.

I would also be grateful if anyone could advise me whether Nationwide were charging PPI costs as part of their credit card fees during 2007. I have attempted to get access to their records on me via Moneysavingexpert's DPA letter but Nationwide want £10 to provide this info, which is more than I think I will get back. Not surprisingly I haven't given them the £10.

    Thanks

    Only have the address here:

    Name & Registered Office:
    LOANS.CO.UK LIMITED
    STANSFIELD HOUSE
    CHESTER BUSINESS PARK
    CHESTER
    CH4 9QQ
    Company No. 03391635

Did find a telephone number as well if this is the correct one, it should be, good luck.

    Tel no: 01244 672 326

Was your loan sold and arranged by loans.co.uk?

Sometimes the loans are direct with the lender or sometimes a broker is used, or maybe loans.co.uk are the broker, but whoever sold and arranged the loan is the ones to write to.;)

As soon as 8 weeks have passed, if you hear absolutely nothing, you can take your complaint to the financial ombudsman service (FOS) if you want to.

Please keep us posted, and hope you have a good outcome out of this, cheers.

    Hi there
To what I am aware of these have not been fined for mis selling, but that does not matter, if you were mis sold for any reason then you should go for it anyway.

Unfortunately it is that of £10 postal order or cheque payment if you request a SAR, they have 40 days to comply.
However, if you still have the account number you can still continue to reclaim, they may even send you a copy of your loan agreement with their response, where normally you can request for the agreement for a £1 postal order or cheque payment, and they have 12 days to supply this.

If you bank online, you can try to retrieve the loan account number this way, as this should allow you to go back 6 years on the statements, the loan account number are normally next to the monthly repayments, or if you have any old paper bank statements, check them out just in case.

What ever letters you send be sure to post by recorded delivery, this is your proof of posting.

If you require the SAR (Subject Access Request) letter, you will find this here:

For more info on reclaiming PPI with template letters, useful guidelines of reclaiming, here:

Good luck with this - please keep us posted and ask for help when required, cheers.;)

Thanks for this. For info, I have been using the Moneysavingexpert guide and template letters. Although I haven't got a breakdown of costs from Natiowide, I have still sent them a template letter requesting payment off all PPI fees charged to me against my credit card. I'll keep you posted on progress.
