Ok Well I just spoke to Lloyds, Im not 100% what the original loan amount was for, as my memory is poor since Kids.
But I only paid them £161 twice and then I paid a lump sum of £4967 off.
The company was direct auto finance and she gave me a ref number, she couldnt 100% say it was my account number, But the girl in Lloyds for once was ever so helpful
Di I will contact the FSCS now to see if that company is listed with them0 -
Just contacted FSCS, he said im !!!!!!ed as it was back in 2002 and they have gone bust, He said because it happened before some date in 2005 im not covered and they cant help me
But Direct Auto Finance has gone bust and I cant claim a penny back from them0 -
oops, that was only Bug gered, I wasnt being rude lol0

Beth I hate it when that happens.......... I know how you feel here, but in this case then contact the FOS instead, with one of mine they were not governed and the FOS sent back the details to me a few times, however, they are taking this to the underwriter/insurer group instead and the loan business dissolved.
Can you remember who the actual insurer was for the finance business?
Its just another direction you can try to take this.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Ok Just phoned some random man called John who's number I found, He doesnt deal with Direct Auto Finance and hasnt since early 2008 lol But he was very helpful and gave me 3 numbers for Direct Auto Finance, Also an Address too.
I just called 1 of those numbers and instantly got through to DAF, The guy on there was instantly put off by me when I asked how much PPI I paid within the time I had the loan open, But he did. He told me I paid £1109.
Oh and that ref number instantly worked tooSo here goes another miss sold claim! Worth a try, Even though I feel with this company I may have a fight on my hands as it was paid off in Dec 2002.
Thanks for helping me0 -
hi Beth what's led you to think Direct Auto Finance have gone bust, they are still on the FSA Register, this is their address, I've recently had dealings with them so I know they're still in business

The FSCS told me they had gone bust along with Yes car credit, But saying that the man in the FSCS was the most unhelpful thing going today!
Thanks for the address, I will be writing to them today.0 -

unfortunately you will as DAF reject every claim put to them - you won't be able to your claim to the FOS as they didn't come under their jursidiction when the policy was sold, you can of course always start proceedings against them - this will be your only recourse, but be careful before you do0
