  • Alliance and Leicster loan

I was looking through some old statments today and found the account number of an old A + L Loan I was still paying it in 99 . The only problem is I have no paper work apart from the account number and cannot remember when we took it out. It did have ppi on it though and it will have been mis sold because my parter had a pre excisting med and I had work cover . Is this worth persuing and will I need to get the sar first with not Knowing the start date . Any help would be great . Also found one fro paragon finance anyone heard of them

    Hi there,

As long as you still have the account numbers that is fine.
They may however send you the copy of the agreement back with their response.

Hope this helps - good luck to you.;)

From what I have read they can close accounts and sometimes do but often they can justify with other reasons too other than just for complaining. If it happened to someone and they feel it was retaliatory action then you are free to make a complaint to FOS or the FSA. If you have a read here

    --> http://www.consumerwiki.co.uk/index.php/Account_Closures:_What_to_do.

It gives some good advice. I don't know of anyone on here that has had their bank accounts closed though just for complaining. There are always "other" reasons.

Thanks for your message, but there is no text within the site from the link above, has it been moved, do you know?

  • Hi all,

Further to my claim letter sent to AA Loans on the 5th (based on the fact that I hadn't ticked the box for PPI but it was still applied!) I received a (somewhat soggy!) holding response from Bank of Scotland this morning: :T

    Bank of Scotland
    Customer Relations

    Dear triticale

Thank you for your recent letter.

I am sorry to hear of your concerns regarding the insurance applied to your loan.

We are keen to deal with your concerns as quickly as possible, however our investigation may take some time. The Financial Services Authority allows us up to eight weeks to investigate complaints and it is our intention to deal with your concerns within this timescale and provide updates when appropriate.
Please find enclosed a copy of our leaflet, which tells you how we will handle your complaint.

    Yours sincerely

    Customer Relations Officer

So I guess I am dealing direct with BoS from now on? Does their letter seem promising based on what others first receive?

    Thanks

I am proper fed up:( i originally sent my claim of for 2 loans(one was used to pay off other) to the RBS in may this year one was dealt with within the 8 weeks and went off to FOS the other trailed behind by 4 weeks so i sent that to the fos then and it was linked with the original using the same ref number. Well heard from rbs that the latter one was never actioned by the FOS and was closed by RBS even though the FOS are saying they have linked them:huh: i have been phoning the ombudsman now on and off for 2 weeks and they are saying they are pulling the file and they will ring me back but never do:mad: i rang on wed last week they told me someone will defo ring me back before fri and no phone call so rang this morning and still nothing has been done.
I am worried cos come end of dec it will be at the 6 month stage and i am frightened the Rbs will cancel my claim.

    Rant over thanks for listening:D
