I doubt it Di cause yours is for misselling isn't it. Mine is for unfair rebate and there are issues on the interest side of things. I will explain when I get an answer. I have had some communication at long last from Lloyds but nothing to report as yet. I think yours will be straight forward with a missale. There are no set rules with rebates so i am told and its all to do with merits as each case is differentFingers crossed for you then Marshallka, I know mine is going to be in a queue now as well, and I do appreciate it, and understand it could take a good good while before receiving any updates on it.
Wonder if it will be the same for me then in regards of the adjudicator not liking to make a decision on it?
Hope they get back to you today Marshallka I really do.
Good luck.;)
. I just wish mine meritted a little more really. I am annoyed as we had 40 extra months added to our loan in the first place cause of piggin PPI and then the rebate never rebated much etc.... I could go on forever but its really getting me down again. I suppose when christmas comes and you have no money and we are dealing with this damp issue too (or wanting to
) then it just makes it worse. Will definately report back when we hear something definate as there have been mistakes up to yet but they have apologised (lloyds this is!!). I have emailed them again today and FOS but not heard anything back. I guess it will another 12 months till I do perhaps.... Its 13 months next week that we have waited again. 0 -

There is a huge amount of money on yours and hopefully they will get this dealt with as soon as poss and repay this back to you and more in my opinion, it would do my head in with what you been through here, well it did before, its only because of your encouragement that I went for it again to give it another go.

I know this is not a PPI question but don't know where else to post.
I found out on wednesday that I have been paying an internet provider £29.99 per month for the last 24 months for broadband when they haven't been providing me with the connection. My telephone company is supplying me with this free of charge but because I couldn't get on with their home page I carried on using my original company's home page. I mistakenly thought I still needed to pay them for this privilage. It was only when I phoned up to request wireless internet that I discovered they don not provide my internet service. I had someone from their company phone me up last friday chasing payment as my card had expired so had no reason to believe I shouldn't have been paying them. Once I was put through to billing and payments after 1 hour on the phone to varying departments I was told they would be happy to refund me the last 6 months payment. When I queried this and told them I had proof through bank statements and bills from my telephone company that I had been paying them for the last 2 years and surely they needed to refund me the whole amount they told me it wasn't possible as they only hold records for 6 months and I only have 6 months to make my complaint. I said as I had only just found out about their error then surely I was within the timeframe. I also mentioned to them that it is law they keep records for 6 years he said "yes I know but we don''t hold them".. I said I would accept the payment as a part payment but wanted them to put this in writing as I wanted to complain to the financial ombudsman.
My questions are:
Am I right about the 6 years records?
Am I within the timeframe for complaining?
Are the FOS the right people to complain to and do I have a case?
Like I said I know this isnt PPI and I would appreciate any help from anyone.0 -

yes you are within the right timeframe for complaining
telephone providers has their own regulator which is OFCOM, you need to put your complaint in writing to the internet provider, once it's rejected you can take your complaint to OFCOM0 -
no it doesn't make a difference to your claim - it's just that if Ocean are stalling you could start a claim against the Insurance Underwriter who's contract the policy belongs to which allowed Ocean to give you a poor rebate on early redemption - you could claim against the underwriter for an unfair contract term - hey may (but maybe not) pay up their part quickerI ended the loan early does this make a difference? It was a front loaded ppi loan though0 -

Thank you for that x0 -
If the complaint is about an "Internet provider" then its actually CISAS that deals with most complaints. Its similar to the Ombudsman and you put your complaint to them. Their details are herethey have to keep records for 6 years for tax purposes

You can check if the firm in mention is covered by CISAS here

So is the future of PPI misselling complaints then now? One part is paid by the lender/broker and one part is paid by the insurer? That would mean double the work for FOS:eek:no it doesn't make a difference to your claim - it's just that if Ocean are stalling you could start a claim against the Insurance Underwriter who's contract the policy belongs to which allowed Ocean to give you a poor rebate on early redemption - you could claim against the underwriter for an unfair contract term - hey may (but maybe not) pay up their part quicker0 -
only for those small percentage of people who redeemed their loans early, it's double jeopardy, one of the two may pay up and if the FOS rules against for mis selling or out jurisdiction it's likely th underwriter was under their jurisdication and they'll rule in your favour for the unfair contract termmarshallka wrote: »So is the future of PPI misselling complaints then now?
