  • They have just cancelled it for me - as far as I know there is no refund. I still owe them around about what I did before, it's just that now it says I don't have insurance. If I get back the PPI it will mean that the loan is finished with a little bit left over instead of next March! Then I can start on the credit card PPI they randomly applied to my account without me asking following a three month "free trial" :-) Thanks for your advice :-)

I would now just wait (you have to give them 8 weeks for a full and final response to your complaint) and then if they do not explain this (as if they cancelled alone they should have rebated some of the insurance anyway and this would have reduced your repayments and often another agreement needs to be signed too) and put you back into the position as if you never had the PPI I would take this to the FOS. Let us know how you get on.

    Hi,

first time posting in the PPI reclaiming so apologies if this is raised elsewhere as I can't face going through 400 pages! :rotfl:
I have an account with Ace catalogue (similar to Studio) who i am aiming to reclaim charges back from and on my statements, I have noticed that they used to apply PPP (payment protection plan).

My question is where do i go from here, I have full breakdown of the charges of this, but I do not have the original agreement and I think I was mis-sold it, as i was only 18 and a student at the time when I took out the account with them so i would never have needed any PPP!!!
Do i need to write to them for a copy of my agreement with them or just send a letter requesting my charges back?

    Thanks for all your help

    xx
You have no need to write for the agreement but if you do not have account numbers etc then it may help. You can request a copy of it for £1 and send by recorded delivery BUT if you have the actual account number already just get the letter of complaint in without. You write to whoever sold you the PPI (if different to the account firm) and have to give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. There is a reclaiming guide here that may help

Don't forget to send all correspondence by recorded delivery.

    Good luck

Hi, hope someone here can help.
Have been reading the ppi threads but there is ALOT there so apologies if this has been asked and answered before.
I have had an mbna credit card for ages and they have been taking ppi that I do not believe I ever agreed to. I have some statements but not all relevant ones. I know that I need to write to them asking for details of ppi payments I have made but I haven't been able to find the correct mbna address to send the letter to - including on their website. Can anyone help please?

Hi Liam, good luck with this and they have 8 weeks in full to respond, if you hear nothing by the time 8 weeks have passed, you can take your complaint to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).
    Fingers crossed.;)

  • Hi,
I am new to this forum, I was wondering what the success rate is and if worth with sending letters?

I have just finished a loan with Lombard Direct that was 5 years long. I did have a PPI with the loan.

I have 2 Black Horse Loans, with PPI's I have all the paperwork. Do they have to pat you the full figure that is on the loan agreement as stated at the start of the loan?

O just what you have paid to date?

I have a Lloyds Loan also that has a PPI, so in total the PPI's sum to £3,150.

Can you tell me are these bank likley to pay up? And should I send the first letter?
