Hi Di have just checked companies web site I can not see where it says "proposal to strike off" for Ocean Finance and mortgages. I'm interested because I have two claims with the FOS about them

    Hi hun

Glad you also confirmed this, thank you.

Looks like Ocean have a few businesses, can be confusing can it?

Good luck with yours and hopefully Hope1066 will come along and see your post, cheers.;)

Yes a lot of places with the name 'Ocean' in them, it's not that easy to track down the one you need sometimes.

Ocean Finance and mortgages are fine and still trading
    Current status Authorised
    Effective Date:31/10/2004

04892540 OCEAN FINANCE AND MORTGAGES LIMITED (from companies house and not dissolved so don't worry)

    Thanks for that

I did have a little panic there especially as it finally looks like things may be happening at last.

I tell my hubby if it wasn't for Marshallka I dread to think where I would be with all our claims now...., he says to me now "before you just go and do something make sure with Marshallka first" lol, :D:T:TXx

I like to think both you and Marshallka are the bedrock of the PPI forum, and god help us if you two pack it in. If we all try and help where we can I think it's a big boost to the members and the forum.

Thanks for putting us right cot1198;) but there are also a lot of others (most posts are valuable to the cause) that help just the same. Di and myself are included but special thanks goes out to Martin really for making it all possible.:T

Di, Did you see this on money made clear site...

    If the firm denies responsibility

    More information

    Phoenix firms

The firm you’re complaining to may appear to be similar or the same as the firm that provided you with a financial product or service but won’t take responsibility for your complaint, saying that it is a new firm. This can happen when a firm closes and its client details are bought by a new firm. The new firm appears to be similar to the original firm (it has the same or similar name, people or office). This is known as a ‘phoenix firm’.

What should I do if I'm affected?

If you have a claim or an outstanding complaint against the old firm do not give up on this.
    • Be persistent. You should not be put off by firms claiming the liabilities are not theirs if in all other aspects it appears to be the same firm.
    • Take your case to the Financial Ombudsman Service if you are not satisfied with the answer – see Related links.
    • Tell us about it. We cannot help with individual disputes between you and the firm, but phoenix firms are a priority for us – Contact us.

    Thanks for this Marshallka.:T
I did see this before and could not remember the site, so cheers for posting this up.

I wish the FOS could help with this one, because you know who was not governed when we taken this out, its doubtfully they will, saying that I don't think I did even go to the FOS on this one, because being told then they were not covered.

Got me thinking again now lol :D;)
