If your daughter was working less than 16 hours per week, then the policy should not have been sold to her as for most PPI policies this is the minimum number of hours you have to work to make a claim.
Again if she is working casual hours now which equate to less than 16 hours a week, she will be very unlikely to be able to claim against the policy, and therefore it should not have been sold to her
thanks. My daughter wasn't working at all when she took initial loan out. the PPI was definitely mis sold. Its the top up loan she went for that is confusing. But she has written her first letter so let's see what happens now0 -
Egg were very quick to reply to my first letter, within a week, with an amount which they used to pay off the loan and closed the complaint. I didn't ask to pay back the loan, I asked for a refund:rolleyes:Still waiting for the cheque for the balance too, they said 7 to 10 days, they must have meant Lunar days or something
Anyway, as they appeared to be rather alot short on what I believe was added and didn't add any interest that I could see,AND used it to pay off the loan, I wrote and asked for a breakdown of how they worked it out. How long do they have to reply, is it 12 working days? as they haven't been quite so quick this time:rotfl:(perhaps because I asked for a SAR too, as I am wondering now if the card might have had PPI added:D)0 -
Hubby's update so far on the earlier credit card case that was moved on to the ombudsman because there was no response from Lloyds when this was with the adjudicator, this one have been with them since last June 2008. An email update here that he received today:
Dear Mr ,
Thank you for your email, I do apologise for the delay in responding - I was contacting colleagues to try to ascertain the situation and any further information. Your case is currently with the Ombudsman, which I believe you may already be aware.
The files are on the same Ombudsman's desk and there is a wider issue with the firm which she is currently looking into - although at this stage I cannot provide you with any further information. So I can assure you that the files are being worked on by the Ombudsman, but there may be some further delay before the matter is concluded.
Yours sincerely

I would say that 12 days is ample time, do you know if they definately received your letter, by checking the delivery out on the Royal mail website tracking?
Maybe give them a quick ring as well.
Hope you receive this soon, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

This is hubby's they paid out on the one and as he has 2 Credit card PPI, they split them, this actual one is the one that Lloyds did not respond to the adjudicator.
The adjudicator did uphold this one as well.
More owed on this one as well apparentely as its a settled one.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I know they must be snowed under, but isn't it a long time you have to wait for a decision, especially when a refund could make all the difference to your life, and theres a bit of stress in waiting too.
I do know EGG received my letter, coz I have read every post and seen it drummed in, send everything recorded:D TBH it was their quick response that made me go a bit further, if they had left it a while I wouldn't have been half so suspicious:rotfl:0
